Dr. Timothy Monahan and his wife, Jennifer, of Liberty, Missouri, went to Guatemala in 2008 and left that country with a kidnapped child. They did not kidnap the little girl, but they bought her from an organized crime ring that stole her from her mom, while she was taking groceries inside. They left the country as quickly as they could, despite the missing persons posters with little Anyeli's face. Later on, in Missouri, they denied that they had purchased a stolen child, but the DNA testing told a different story.
Dr. Monahan, why won't you just admit that you accidentally got involved with a bunch of dangerous thugs, and give Anyeli back to her mother? You may have noticed that I used the word "purchased" instead of "adopted" in the paragraph above. It was not a typo. You did NOT adopt Anyeli Rodriguez, and she is NOT your daughter. Adoptions happen when all parties are in agreement about the matter, and they go through the court legally, in all countries concerned. The identities of all parties are clear, no fake names, no phony birth certificates. This did not happen in the case of the missing child you brought back to America from Guatemala. What did happen was a kidnapping, followed by false imprisonment, followed by fraud, (falsified birth certificate) followed by abandonment, followed by the act of human trafficking in which you continue to engage. You may not have known what was happening at first, although if you are actually innocent, it seems as if you would have given the victim back to her parents, but now that you know, why do you continue to assert your illicit connection to the victim, albeit not initially your fault, over the legitimate connection of her birth mother? If you had done this in America, that child would be back with her family. Is a middle class Guatemalan mom really that much easier to impugn?
Ya know, Dr. Monahan, if Anyeli were my child, I would do whatever I had to do to bring her home. Your money, your big house, your housekeepers and receptionists.........all those things would not convince me that my child was better off with you. I don't think Anyeli's TRUE mother thinks so, either. Anyeli is simply not your child, that is all there is to it. Anyeli was the victim of a kidnapping, and she was found far away from her home, in a different country. Why do you think you have a right to keep her, now that she has been found? Did you purchase her fair and square, like a couch or a second hand car? Do you really think it's possible that you love Anyeli, even though her mother searched relentlessly for over five years to find her? What were you doing for those five years? Do you think you prayed as hard as Anyeli's family? I don't think it is possible that you experience love, because this situation has called for the reuniting of mother and child ever since you found out who she actually is, yet you resist. You are really a selfish pig, not a dad.
Suppose Kyron Horman, or Lisa Irwin were found? Suppose they were found living with families who have more money than their natural parents? Would those people, no matter how they got these kidnapped children, get to keep them, because they were rich enough to impugn the natural parents? Should it be okay for people with more money to just go out, and have kids stolen, from people with less money? Or would Kyron's parents demand him back, at once? But that's easy.........I have assumed that both children mentioned above are on American soil. Suppose a missing child from America is found in Guatemala? Should we tell the anxiety-ridden natural parents the same thing you are telling your prisoner's parents? Finders keepers, losers weepers? What if authorities in other countries are watching this, and think everyone in America is as creepy and evil as you? What if this sets some sort of a precedent, and other countries decide not to work with the United States in kidnapping cases anymore, because of you? Please give the little girl back.
I do not live too far away from you, Dr. and Mrs. Monahan. That brings me to another reason I really hope that you will do the right thing and let Anyeli's true parents have her back. This has caused a bit of an international fracus. The United States appears to be vested enough in human trafficking, during these dismal economic times, to look the other way while you keep a child who was kidnapped, but what if Anyeli's family decides not to look the other way? Suppose Loyda Rodriguez loves her child more than you can imagine loving anyone? Suppose Anyeli's family is not going to just give up? You obviously imagine that they have forgotten their daughter, but what if they haven't? Anyeli's own country wants her back, and; after all, you ARE holding a Guatemalan citizen against her will. What if some sort of retaliation against you changes the area for all of us? Can you see why many people, even if not vested in morals and love of children, would like to see you just do the right thing and give this kidnapping victim back to her Guatemalan family? I know you feel that you bought her fair and square, but human beings are not for sale.

Anyeli Hernandez Rodriguez. No legitimate connection to Dr. And Mrs. Timothy Monahan, of Liberty, Missouri.
I hope they at least move from "Liberty" Missouri! Apparently they and their children will be safer!
ReplyDeleteBefore they move anywhere, I hope they give their victim back to her parents. After Anyeli is home in Guatamala, I honestly don't care how safe Dr. and Mrs. Monahan are. They have put the rest of us in danger by falsly imprisoning a kidnapping victim from another country and refusing to give that child back. Now that other country has what might be construed as a good reason to refuse to cooperate with the United States when we discover kidnapping victims in Guatamala, which has happened. The fact that our judicial system is even allowing them to keep this little girl makes me wonder how intertwined our country is with human trafficking. Hopefully, if he moves, he will not be allowed to practice medicine anywhere else because of his support of human trafficking and illegal adoption. No one in our family will ever be use him as a physician. He has no morals.
DeleteThis could be as horrendous as Jaycee Lee Dugar - as far as I'm concerned! These folks live only a few miles from where Baby Lisa Irwin was abducted how would it be any different if all of a sudden we find out Lisa Irwin was taken to their house too? Now, would it be acceptable simply because they have more money to care for her and have had her for a year? NO NO NO! I am deeply saddened for this mother! She should be given back to her family - as baby Lisa Irwin would be!

"Adoptions happen when all parties are in agreement about the matter [. . .]".
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I am an adult adoptee. I don't recall ever once being asked for my opinion in the matter. I don't recall ever once giving my agreement. Can you show me the papers I signed?
No; but someone should be able to show you the papers all four of your adults, your parents and adoptive parents, signed. No one with custody or power of attorney for this little girl signed anything, she was stolen.
DeleteI, unfortunately, met Dr. Monahan due to my husband's accident and being in the emergency room at Liberty Hospital. This was prior to the kidnapping becoming know in the Liberty area. I immediately took an instinctive dislike to the man. He is an arrogant man. It is very apparent that he feels entitled to whatever he wants. I feel sorry for this poor child and her true parents. My hope is that Dr. Monahan and wife never feel peace and that their life will be filled with trouble and grief until they do the right thing and return this stolen child to her true parents in Guatamala. Then and only then may God be merciful on their souls.
ReplyDeleteGuatemala might be a safer place for an American to visit if we would give this child back. He has done a terrible thing, and I think all of us in this part of the Midwest should be committed to making sure Anyeli knows who she is by the time she grows up. I hate human trafficking and those who patronize it.
DeleteWhile you are certainly entitled to your opinion on the subject, maybe you should not reveal this child's personal information in such a public forum. This further compromises her situation, making her even more vulnerable-- and by extension, you and your community face further threat, which is one of your main concerns.
ReplyDeleteExcuse me?
DeleteExcuse me? What are you trying to say? I have divulged no personal information here that is not either in Anyeli's missing posters that were made by her parents in her home country, and I have divulged nothing that is not in the public court order to return Anyeli to her parents. I am against human trafficking. It is more than just "my opinion", it's the law in this country that humans are not commodities to be bought and sold. Timothy and Jennifer Monahan bought a stolen child and continue to keep this child against her will. When the child reaches age of majority, she will legally have a "will" of her own, but for the purposes of the law, she is a minor right now. As long as she is merchandise, rather than a person with rights, her situation is going to be compromised. The Monahans truly don't care; otherwise they'd give her back.
Exactly what are you implying, Jason and Sabrina, when you come to my site and tell me that me and my community "face further threat"? What threat do we face currently? What is this "further threat" you promise?
Dr. Monahan is a responsible and respectable surgeon--one of the best I have encountered. This diatribe against him seems unhealthy. People pay a lot of money to adopt legitimately and usually leave with the child as soon as they can. These conditions do not justify an attack on them. In fact, this has been very painful for them.
ReplyDeleteYou are sadly mistaken if you think the Monahans are not continuing the kidnapping and human trafficking of this girl. You are a fool of toy can't see that DNA was an absolute MATCH between the girl and her REAL mother in GUATEMALA. They are not the christians that they think they are. This entire event has been a travesty of justice. The court in Guatemala ordered return of the child due to the DNA match which PROVES that their adoption was ILLEGAL as evidenced by falsified documents and the subsequent arrests and convictions of the adoption agency not to mention the judge who signed false documents and the glaring fact that the original DNA test showed that the women who gave the child up for adoption in the first place was NOT HER MOTHER!! Are facts too hard for you?? The Monahans will pay for this in the afterlife. Oh and KARMA is a bitch!!
DeleteDr. Monahan is one of the most excellent surgeons I have encountered. It is troubling to see someone pursue such a vindictive attack with so little evidence. Most foreign adoptions are very expensive and most new parents leave as soon as they possibly can.
ReplyDeleteReally? The Monahans have experienced PAIN? I'm so Verrrrry sorry! (eye-rolley here) Do you, for one moment, think the Monahans have experienced as much pain as Anyeli's parents have experienced? What evidence, besides a Gautamalan court order for Anyeli's return do you want??? The Monahans are clearly in violation of it, and the "agency" from which they purchased Anyeli has been SHUT DOWN, and those involved are now in JAIL! There's the evidence that Anyeli was trafficked! The evidence that Anyeli is the missing child in the pictures passed around by her mother is in her DNA. I don't care what kind of surgeon Monahan is; human trafficking is a terrible international crime. He needs to return Anyeli to her parents.
DeleteThe Monahans may pay for this BEFORE the afterlife......Anyeli will be a teenager soon! And when she is old enough to drive, I intend to visit her city as often as I can, putting up posters about the situation, and her picture as a missing child. Geesh.....the Monahans have made travel to Mexico and Guatemala even more dangerous than it already was for Americans.
ReplyDeleteWhy has this child not been returned to her family?
ReplyDeleteFrom publicly available information:
Dr. Timothy James Monahan is currently employed by Providence Medical Group Orthopedics in Kansas: http://www.providencemedicalgroupkc.com/Medical-Services/Orthopedics.aspx
He and his wife, Jennifer Lyn Monahan, bought in 2014 in a foreclosure auction a mansion that is located in Lenexa, Kansas: 8436 Maplewood Ln, Lenexa, KS 66215.
Well-researched background regarding the current state and history of the abduction of children from other countries: https://twitter.com/rkfatheree/status/1010940921075130369
That research led me to Anyeli Liseth Hernández's tragic story. The Monahans should be in jail for their role in stealing a child and at minimum should be shunned in their community for their ongoing immoral action.
Thank you for that information. Lenexa is even closer to yours truly, and once one public school child hears something in Kansas, ALL public school children get a chance to hear it; that's the way Kansas is, largely because of the small population. I really don't know how they intend to stop Anyeli from hearing her own story. I also don't know how human traffickers sleep at night. At this point, I would be afraid to be a patient at Providence Medical Group Orthopedics in Kansas with Monahan working there, because of all the attention that has been granted to separation of families! I would hate to have a doctor whose work might be impeded by protests or possible arrests.......
