Busted! Another Kansas Attorney Bites Dust!

 

Phill Kline, former Attorney General of Kansas, just lost his license to practice law indefinitely, in Kansas, because of unethical conduct while he represented the state of Kansas during his "reign" as Attorney General. It seems that most of the complaints filed against him involved his obsession with womens' medicine, specifically reproductive rights and obstetric needs, and undue attention given to any clinic that offered therapeutic abortion. The items for which the Kansas Bar Association did not particularly care include, but are not limited to: giving false testimony to a judge, making false statements to the Supreme Court, allowing a member of his staff to take medical records from a clinic to her home for several weeks and stating that the records were being kept in a secure facility! (so much for doctor/patient confidentiality and hipaa) He was also faulted for seeking a subpoena from the Grand Jury without informing them of the actual law in the involved case; in other words, he wanted them to grant him carte blanche in a matter with no regard for the law. Today, in a surprising decision, the Kansas Bar Association has determined that it might not be a good idea for such an attorney to continue to practice law. Who could possibly have seen that coming?

In addition to the above unethical conduct, "the court found Friday that when he was attorney general, Kline committed misconduct by instructing members of his staff to attach sealed documents to a publicly filed document in violation of a Supreme Court order. He also told staff to file a court pleading that contained misleading information."

Whoa! Wait a minute! Back up the truck.............

Is it really unlawful and unethical for a prosecutor to file court pleadings that contain misleading information? Say it ain't so! Has anyone told the prosecutor in Marshall County? Hahaha! But seriously, folks, Kline was found to have committed eleven serious ethical violations since 2003. It's a shame the Kansas Bar Association did not seek disbarment.

Your County Prosecutor Might Have An Ethics Problem If

Your county prosecutor might have an ethics problem if:

►She cherry picks juries to consist of close friends and relatives of plaintiff.

►She knowingly charges people with crimes they did not commit.

►She falsely claims she does not have evidence that she does, indeed, possess when discovery is requested, only to reveal, at trial, that she has the very same evidence, and has had it all along.

►She targets random people by calling as many of their friends and associates as she can find, threatening them with legal action if they continue friendship with her "target".

►She continuously becomes entangled in cases from which she has been recused due to conflicts of interest.

►She bribes witnesses or threatens witnesses, depending on her needs, in order to compensate for her lack of litigation skills.

►She spends all day on Facebook and other social media sites, while sitting in her taxpayer funded office.

►She attempts to bias judges using information unconnected to any case from said social media sites.

►She orders law enforcement to refrain from arresting underage drinkers who are prosecution witnesses in current cases she wants to try.

►She destroys her own property in order to gain attention and sympathy.

►She blatantly lies in court.

►She uses law enforcement as her personal goons, while others need law enforcement for legitimate reasons.

►She attempts to use federal law enforcement agencies to attempt stop malcontents from photoshopping her picture.

►She does not understand the first amendment.

►She instructs local law enforcement to use violence against victims of domestic violence, in order to ensure that they will testify.

►She threatens the security of children in order ensure that mothers will testify, or testify falsely, to suit her agenda.

►Her prejudiced tendencies interfere with her judgment, her job performance, and her ability to be impartial and fair.

All of those flaws are symptoms of two major problems when found in elected prosecutors. Obviously, any fighter who resorts to dirty or dishonorable means in order to win does so because he is either not entitled to the title of "winner", or unskilled and unequipped badly enough to lose in any skirmish. Both are disconcerting in a county or district attorney. Another problem that should not be overlooked by voters in a locale wherein such persons as prosecutors are elected is the moral issue. Remember what rolls downhill? This happens when corrupt and dishonest officials at the top run rampant, unchecked. It is bad enough when a dishonest congressman or senator is bought, but a county prosecutor can be used by rich and prominent bullies within a community to harm and ruin the lives of those who are not wealthy enough, or otherwise equipped, to stand up for themselves. Such officials are bad for the communities the allegedly serve.

There IS help for such individuals. The help often comes in the form of an official complaint to the bar association. In the event that your county attorney is elected, help can also come in the form of a recall or an impeachment, should the bar association take it's sweet time to pull the license of such an individual. Help also can come in the form of a lost election, should an opponent and informed voters prevail. Chronic failures in personal and professional ethics on the parts of elected officials, especially within law enforcement and the court system, are serious. The community should not ignore it.

Another Message For An Obsessed Visitor

Hello again, 68.234.126.187. I cited your information here, once before. I know exactly who you are, and I know exactly where you get online. I also know which computers you or others connected to you use, alternatively. I don't know why you bother with clumsy attempts to mask you presence, though. You see, it won't be very long before everyone who googles you name will see all of the things that I can see about you. I promise you, an internet search about your name will bring up information about everything from the way you contributed to the deliquency of a minor, filed false reports to law enforcement, committed ethics violations within your chosen field, committed fraud, violated the constitutional rights of others and sat on your big fat ass all day, on a computer belonging to your employer, while you should have been working.

I have a question for you, 68.234.126.187; do you think the schools and other government agencies which deal with matters pedogogical will want to listen to you anymore after they hear that you encouraged a teenager to drive an uninsured vehicle with stolen tags in Marshall County, Kansas?

 

Oh; by the way, if you and your goons on the police force continue to encourage local teenagers to drink and drive, and continue to encourage underage drinking despite the fact that drunk driving and underage drinking are both unlawful, I will make more noise about it than you ever thought possible. I promise.

 

 

Disbarred Kansas Attorney

Jon Michael King, Esquire, of Lawrence Kansas just surrendered his license to practice law and is now disbarred.  While working full time as a trust officer for the Trust Company Of Kansas, he also collected fees as a private attorney, which was against his contract. Because of this conflict of interest, there is disciplinary action pending and he surrendered his license. Had he just chosen corporate clients, such as the bank, who did not insist upon a contract disallowing private practice at the same time, he probably would have been fine.
