Dylann Roof Found Guilty

Dylann Roof, the twenty-two year old monster who shot nine people at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, was found guilty today. He stated that he chose the South Carolina church and the people at the bible study because he wanted to commit a crime against black people, and he thought that people in church wouldn't fight back. His rhetoric on Facebook also sounds a lot like Donald Trump's rhetoric, during his campaign for president.

The pastor of the church, Clementa Pinckney, was killed in the incident. Reverend Pinckney was also a United States senator, representing South Carolina. What is not known is why Governor Sam Brownback, of Kansas, did not order the flags at half staff, following Clementa Pinckney's death, as he did for John Glenn, Antonin Scalia, and the victims of the Paris terrorist attack in November of 2015.

Racist Kansas Half Staff Flag

So interesting. Governor Sam Brownback, of Kansas, has ordered that flags be flown at half staff in memory of the victims of the mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, but did not do the same when Dylann Roof waltzed into a South Carolina church and shot nine people at a Bible study. Both incidents were unexpected, both incidents were unjustified, both incidents resulted in untimely death, and both incidents resulted in terror, and could therefore be labeled "terrorism". Why would Brownback care about one set of victims, but not the other? Here's a guess: Dylann Roof's victims were black, while the people shot in San Bernardino were mostly white. Yep. Brownback and most of Kansas appear to have double standards.

May all of the victims of both mass shootings rest in peace.

The Mandela Proclamation And Respect

This was on the profile of a Facebook friend yesterday, and I liked it enough to snag it and use it here. How is it that so many young people in America do not know about South Africa, Apartheid, or Nelson Mandela? Why have the employees in some federal government buildings ignored the recent Mandela Proclamation by failing to lower the flag to half staff, in honor of Nelson Mandela?
