Update On The Morals Taught By Frankfort Kansas School

Not too long ago, I mentioned the spouse of a teacher at the small public school in Frankfort Kansas, because she embezzled a bunch on money from her employer, an insurance company, and from her clients. About half a million dollars. On Monday, January 13, Monica Smart was sentenced in federal court to twenty-one months in prison. Her mother tried to buy home confinement and an ankle bracelet by paying $50,000 toward restitution, and there were some greatly exaggerated claims about an illness on the part of a family member who supposedly needs Monica's care, (ha! that's simply not true) but the judge gave her prison time, anyway. Sometime within the next month or so, Mrs. Smart will get notified that there is space at one of the womens' prisons in the country, and she will be chained up and flown to it, unless it happens to be within driving distance. That's simply not supposed to happen to frankfurters! Especially Christian frankfurters.......Jesus is supposed to protect them from getting caught when they commit crimes!

There are several reasons why this bothers me. First of all, not only Monica Smart, but her husband, Larry Smart, a public school teacher, was found to be compromised in the investigation. At this writing, he does not appear to have any charges lodged against him, but he is the subject of civil complaints connected to his wife's conduct. While she is serving time in a federal prison, he will obviously maintain sympathies toward someone who held others in contempt by stealing half a million dollars from them. If she escapes or fails to report to federal marshals, and becomes a fugitive, federal marshals will rip through everywhere to which she has a connection, in desperate and feverish pursuit. The first places they normally check, in those situations, are the family residences of fugitives. If her big poofy blond head is not found at home, they will probably try to find her husband. They may or may not care about the fact that Larry is employed at a school. I, personally, would not want a teacher to put some fugitive's interests and well being ahead of any child's, but Larry Smart is married to a convicted felon.

The moral message passed along to students is disturbing, as well. Frankfort School has had run-ins with the ACLU and federal agencies in the past concerning the disturbing habit of interfering with the cultures and religions of others; only to try, unsuccessfully, to argue that forcing religious activities is "teaching morals". Is the Smarts' complicity in embezzling, and the act of welcoming the Smarts and their crime, with open arms and no caution, an example of "teaching morals"? They used their stolen money to pay for expensive school trips and other frills that I could not afford for my children. My daughter, unaware of the embezzling, truly thought that she was not loved by her family because we do not embezzle or steal to gain such an advantage. Why would the school even play along? Why did teachers and school administration tell my children that if I loved them, I would have enough money to pay for vehicles for all of them and for trips, just as the Smarts and other teachers? (yes, the Smarts' ample provision for their childrens' luxuries was thrown in my face by angry children more than once.....only my angry children didn't realize how deeply criminal their community can be, at times) Some of the teachers at Frankfort, as well as the principal, have gone out of their way to make sure that all of my childrens' classmates knew that while others can occasionally work freely and happily from home at freelance projects, it was morally wrong for yours truly to do so. For me to take advantage of such an option made me lazy, and put my life in the category of welfare fraud, (even though I have never been on welfare) according to the frankfurter folks, and that's exactly what the sixth grade teacher told my children! It seems that being a stay at home mom is something that is afforded to those sweet Christian women who usually have open legs to go along with their open bibles; but not to me. It's not okay with Frankfort Kansas if I stay home and take care of my children. But it is okay with Frankfort Kansas if an insurance agent steals half a million dollars. She is, after all, doing something to benefit her family!

On Monday, a relative of Alice Jones, the library director who lets children bring booze and illegal drugs into the library, was still defending the Smarts. I can only guess that this woman was not a victim of the fraud and embezzling; however, speaking of Alice Jones, perhaps Monica's motive was to keep up with the Jones's. But to keep up with these particular Jones's, stealing half a million dollars needn't have been Monica's special crime: she could have just hired some high school students via Heartland Works and let them come to work drunk, straight from school, and bring some recreational prescription pills with them, right Alice Jones? Safety in the school is compromised by the husband of a convicted felon on the premises, and teaching the whole disgusting lesson that violating federal law is acceptable, as long as one gets away with it, is simply wrong. This is not the kind of example teachers should set.

In a rather glaring example of dereliction of duty, Laura Johnson-McNish attended the sentencing hearing, rather than attending to the duties of the office of Marshall County Prosecutor. She did not prosecute this case, and lost the only case she ever tried, all by herself, before a jury. Had the citizens of Kansas actually been forced to rely upon the legal expertise of Johnson-McNish, Smart would still be robbing insurance customers blind. Johnson-McNish is only effective when a defendant who has been caught red handed is willing to cop a plea, and even then, she is only marginally effective. Why did I, as a taxpayer, have to pay her salary for a day's galavanting as a spectator in proceedings to which she had no viable contribution? Taxpayers should not have to pay for Laura Johnson-McNish to satisfy her curiosity any more than they should have to pay for her to go to the movies. And why did Laura Johnson-McNish address the press on this matter?

"I would like to thank Chief Todd Ackerman, the Marysville Police Department, FBI agent Scott Gentine, and Christine Kenney, attorney with the U.S. attorney general's office, for their efforts in securing justice in this case."

Not only did she have the gall to thank those who actually are qualified to practice law and dispense justice as if they had actually done her a personal favor; she does not, and has never, cared about securing justice. No one should be fooled by McNish's pandering. Her position, as county attorney, is elected.

Steve Houze: Who The Hell Is A Fugitive?

 "Terri went to a lawyer and took his advise to not talk and plead the 5th, Houze is a well known attorney and has dealt with all kinds of situations I would trust that he knows alot more about this case than anyone does. It appears in court he does his homework and does it well. I highly doubt he would risk his career by hiding a fugative from the law."

..........This is a snippet from a comment on another blog, where I am engaged in a conversation about the lawsuit recently filed against Terri Horman, by Desiree Young, mother of missing Kyron Horman. Kyron disappeared in June of 2010, from his second grade classroom at Skyline Elementary in Portland, Oregon. Terri Horman, Kyron's sometime step parent, has refused to testify, give account of her whereabouts the day Kyron went missing, and has also failed two polygraphs. She also hired Steve Houze, a high profile and high dollar criminal defense attorney, to represent her when police began to suspect that she may have attempted to hire someone to kill her husband, Kaine Horman. Not that she was ever charged.....she just needed a defense attorney.

There have been observations and arguements that Kyron's missing persons case and the alleged murder for hire case are not connected to each other. Ok, that seems plausable, so why is Houze representing Ms. Horman in Kyron's missing person case, if Ms. Horman had nothing to do with Kyron's disappearance? Anyone else experiencing two separate legal issues has to retain council for two separate legal issues. So, to those who want to yap about the fact that Houze was not hired until the police investigated the alleged murder for hire, remember that Houze has apparently advised Terri Horman concerning the missing persons case, too. Two separate cases.

This commenter also claims that Houze advised Terri Horman to plead the fifth. I disagree. Terri Horman has not been charged with anything, and has not been arrested for anything. She does not need to "plead the fifth". That's something one does in court. What she HAS done, other than fail polygraphs and refuse to cooperate with law enforcement to assist in finding Kyron, is exercise her right to remain silent. But; once again, if she hired Houze to represent her in the alleged murder for hire "nonevent", why is he representing her in Kyron's disappearance? Unless he has been retained to do just that.

It also appears that the comment is written by someone who believes that Steve Houze "knows a lot more about this case than anyone does." I'll go along with that; he probably does. But if he does, how? The only way he can truly know anything is by talking to the actual perpetrator.

Here's the part of the comment that is truly loaded: "I highly doubt that he (Steve Houze) would risk his career by hiding a fugitive from the law."  Defense attorneys do not represent the prosecution. They represent the defendant. If a defendant happens to be on the lam, they have an obligation to act in the defendant's best interest, not anyone else's. So if Steve Houze has a client who is a fugitive, as many lawyers do from time to time, his career will not be "risked" in any way if he lets the fugitive hide. If he acts in any way that is not in his client's best interest, that is when he would "risk" his career. But that comment is still a very loaded comment for one more reason......who the hell is a fugitive here? Terri Horman isn't a fugitive. She hasn't been charged with a crime, remember? Neither is anyone else. To whom could this poster have referred?

Aliahna Lemmon's Killer Was Wanted In Florida

This is amazing. Just before Christmas, an Indiana girl, nine year old Aliahna Lemmon, was brutally murdered by one of her mother's male "friends". "Mommy" had the flu, and sent her three daughters over to Michael Plumadore's trailer for a week. A week. Let me digress for a moment to say that yours truly once took an IV out of her arm at the hospital during a blood transfusion because one of her children needed her. The transfusion got rescheduled because my child came first. End of story. My hemoglobin was 6.5, too, but my daughter was more important to me. How could a flu become a reason to ignore one's children during a holiday week? That, alone, is sickening. But here's something even worse: this Michael Plumadore, in whose trailer Aliahna was sent to die, has a criminal record, is a convicted felon, and was wanted for violation of probation in Florida!

How the hell does one get to know another person well enough to babysit one's children for a whole week without knowing about the pastimes had by the chosen "babysitter" that occasionally end up in arrest records, attorney fees, and court dates? (not necessarily in that order!) Another interesting bit of data here is that Plumadore has a Facebook page, which became invisible last night.......either he gets computer access in jail, or one of his trailer park buddies deleted it for him.......that would have told authorities in Florida exactly where to find his sorry ass if they were really looking for him! But, apparently, they weren't. His criminal record in Florida, by the way, was for assualting a police officer. Anyway, back to my original point, the people who knew this creep well enough to call him a "friend" probably were well aware of his criminal record, and of the fact that he was a fugitive from justice in Florida! Something else I find interesting and equally disgusting is that Aliahna's grandmother still defends this trailer trash creep! According to the Daily Mail, UK, she had this to say:

"Despite the confession, the little girl's grandmother, Amber Story, stood by Plumadore.

'I don't care what anybody says. Mike did nothing to her. He loves those girls,' she told the News-Sentinel."

If that isn't denial, then it's definately choosing the friendship of a known criminal over the love of a grandchild. The only reason I can think of for a grandmother or a mother to make a choice like that is the event of said grandmother or mother having a criminal background of her own that she does not want discussed with law enforcement. Nauseating. If Grandma had turned Creepo in to the police, instead of covering for him, he would have been behind bars in Florida, serving the rest of his sentence for assualting a police officer, and not in Indiana, murdering a nine year old child!

This brings me to something that has occured to me as a possible motive for the killing. The first statements I noticed from the media quoting Aliahna's family were quite disparaging to Aliahna. Comments about her ADHD, vision and hearing loss, ecetera. I think Aliahna was a lot more savvy than the entire trailer park wanted anyone to think she was. In fact, I think Aliahna was not on board with the "cover for our criminal friends" mentality at all, and these people, Mommy and Grandma included, depended on the rest of the world NOT taking her seriously, or believing a word she said while she was alive, because more than one person in Trailerparkland, Indiana, was wanted by police for something or other, and her testimony could easily put people in jail. Yes, indeed. I think keeping guilty people out of jail was more important to Grandma than Aliahna, and I think it still is. Someone also accused Aliahna of having Oppositional Defiant Disorder! I guess to people who want to lead lives of crime, a child who wants to fly right and be productive WOULD appear defiant!

The other thing that could have saved Aliahna's life, but didn't, was the judicial system in Florida. Plumadore was clearly a fugitive from justice, and he was clearly on Facebook, along with enough personal information for authorities in Florida to find him. Does anyone remember the Jaycee Dugard case? Phillip Garrido was on probation the entire eighteen years he held Jaycee captive. Proper supervision in his case would have given Jaycee back her childhood. Proper supervision of Michael Plumadore would have given Aliahna Lemmon back her life. Shame on Florida.

Below is the creep, himself, lying to police and sending searchers in all the wrong directions, before he confessed. Should anyone who knew Michael Plumadore's history in Florida, and that he was wanted for violation of probation, get a free pass here?
