Dear Dr. Phil,

Recently, you hosted the former step parent of Kyron Horman, missing from Oregon since 2010, on your talk show. At one point, you asked her about the suspicions on the part of the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office to the effect that she had attempted to hire someone to murder her husband, Kaine. The allegations centered around a landscaper, whom she had hired to mow her lawn, and an offer she had allegedly made. When you asked her about it, she told you that she had never told Kaine about the landscaper. In fact, she gave her older son, James Moulton, credit for mowing the lawn when she discussed it with Kaine.

Is there a way to send Terri Horman a follow-up question, via your show? If James had been given the task of mowing the lawn by his stepfather, does it build character when his mother hires a landscaper to do it, instead? What kind of a message is sent when she lies to her husband, and states that her son actually mowed the lawn, as charged? This does not sound like good parenting. There are quite a few people who saw your show that day, and would like these questions further explored. Oh, there's one more question that should be put to Terri directly: Terri, where's Kyron?

Terri Horman And Dr. Phil

After six years of refusing to speak about her stepson's missing persons case, Terri Horman, the sometime step parent of Kyron Horman, has finally decided to voice her opinions. Not to law enforcement, and not facts; but on daytime television and defenses of her own behaviors. On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, Dr. Phil has interviews with Terri Horman on his show. Above is a clip from Wednesday's show. Certain unusual inconsistencies are discussed, such as Terri's insistence that the police told her to lie to reporters about her marital status when she and Kyron's father separated. That does not make sense, as anyone with a need for such information can look it up at the local courthouse. Marriages are public. The rumor that Terri did not fail a polygraph is also put to rest, as Dr. Phil and Terri openly discuss that fact that she failed two polygraphs and did not complete a third. Possibly, however; the most glaring insult to reality is this: Terri Horman did not wear a button with a picture of Kyron, who is the real subject of the show, and did not even hold up a flyer with a picture of him, as both of Kyron's parents do, when they appear on national television to discuss Kyron's case.

Whoa! Terri Horman speaks! More than five years after her former stepson, Kyron Horman, the little boy who disappeared from his school in Portland, Oregon, needed her to speak! There are more problems with this than your faithful blogger can shake a stick at, but here are the ones she sees as the biggest. First of all, Miss Terri told her audience that she did not "kill her son". Well, well; the last time anyone checked, Kyron was NOT her son. Terri Horman's son is a young man by the name of James Moulton, and we all know that Terri Horman did not kill James. For extra outrage value, Terri also referred to Kyron as "the boy". "The boy" has a name: Kyron. Terri is well aware of this. She is also aware of something else; her ongoing desire to distance herself from Kyron, or anything that has ever reminded her of Kyron.

The second crazy problem with Terri's insane drivel is her insistence that she was NOT the last person to see Kyron. How would she know this? If Miss Terri truly left the school without Kyron, after watching him walk toward his classroom, on June 4, 2010, exactly how would she know if anyone else had seen him afterward? How? If she knows that someone else had contact with Kyron after she left the school, she needs to come forward to law enforcement with that information, rather than attempting to make money from interviews with magazines that peddle sensationalism. Just for the record, her statements have always conflicted with the statements of eyewitnesses, who saw her leave the building with her infant daughter, Kiara, and with Kyron.

The third serious problem with all of this goes back to your faithful blogger's initial outrage at Terri Horman for waiting five years to say anything about Kyron's missing persons case. Why five years? What makes five years so special, for the up and coming criminal class? A plausible theory about this involves the statute of limitations for various crimes in the state of Oregon. Five years is a common statute of limitation in many states for serious misdemeanors and some felonies, and for many civil torts. Oregon's statute of limitations for most types of child prostitution is six years. Could Terri Horman's decision to speak now be linked to something she did six years ago? If so, did it involve Kyron? If Terri Horman really wanted to help find Kyron, she would have done so in June of 2010, not January of 2016.

 

And now here's a question for Terri. Hey Terri, how come you borrowed the bus drivers' cell phone to call the school and ask why Kyron wasn't on the school bus? Why didn't you use your own? Did (ahem) someone else have it? What about those burn phones you and your buddies kept purchasing?

Following the most recent search for Kyron Horman, who disappeared from his school in Portland Oregon in June of 2010, his aunt made the above announcement and request. On Kyron's thirteenth birthday, which was September 9, this picture was passed around Facebook. If anyone was in Portland on June 4, 2010, and knows anything about this incident, or Kyron's whereabouts today, please take the time to email the tip to tips4kyron@yahoo.com. Five Years And The Kyron Horman Case

Five years. Kyron Horman has been missing for five years, as of today. Everyone who had anything to do with Kyron, or with Skyline Elementary, from where he disappeared, has been interviewed by  police, and their alibis checked and double checked. Everyone, that is, except for one person. That person is Kyron's former stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman. Early in the investigation, when it was  still a search and rescue effort and not yet a criminal investigation, Terri's story did not match her alibis, her cell phone pings, her former stories, or eyewitness accounts. Not too much later in the process, law enforcement brought in polygraphers. Everyone who took a polygraph examination passed, with the exception of one person, Terri Moulton Horman. Eventually, Terri hired an attorney, whose refrain is that "Ms. Horman was not the last person to be seen with Kyron." This is in direct contradiction to the testimony offered by two eyewitnesses who were in the bus run, and saw Terri leave the school, WITH her infant daughter, Kiara, and Kyron.

According to Kyron's dad, Kaine Horman, others are now on the FBI's radar as potential suspects. This is interesting: for over four years, Terri Horman has tried very hard to stay out of the public eye. It has only been a recent development that Terri has taken to appearing in public, in two failed attempts to change her name, and one defunct career move as a caregiver for disabled people at a place called Shangri La. At this writing, Terri reportedly bunks with one of this site's sometime trolls, Sandi Lessman. It is the opinion of yours truly that as Terri branches out socially, each contact, especially each contact who denies knowing Terri personally, but actually...ahem...knows her personally, gives law enforcement more to investigate. So it is quite natural to hear Kaine mention this.

No child deserves to have childhood and life stolen. No one left behind deserves to be a tangental victim, either. Skyline Elementary and the surrounding community have taken some measures toward never losing a child again. Hopefully, anyone who knows where Kyron is right now will come forward. It will not undo the heartbreak of the last five years, but Kyron's family and community would like resolution.

Now that we have the matter of the dress and all of it's possible hues settled, and the debate is settling down, there are two unresolved questions, waiting for answers. Here is the first one.......

I'm Brenda Kidder, And I Resent This Message

What a week for Terri Horman, sometime step parent of Kyron Horman, who disappeared from his second grade class in Portland, Oregon, in June of 2010! It seems that a non-profit organization called Shangri La, which serves disabled and otherwise vulnerable adults and children, hired Terri Horman to work directly with persons who have physical and mental disabilities. The fact that Terri Horman continues as the main focus of Kyron's missing persons case and that there is a permanent family protection order barring her from any contact with her former husband and daughter did not matter to Shangri La. Neither did Terri's employment
history, which included termination from a teaching position because she was abusive toward an autistic child. This raised a few eyebrows in the surrounding communities, and phone calls were made, by concerned citizens, on behalf of the clients of Shangri La.

Early last week, some flyers with Kyron's picture and contact information for law enforcement were placed near Shangri La's Eugene campus. This should not have been a problem; pictures of missing people and contact information for law enforcement are often posted in public. Shangri La responded to this by sending some of it's employees out and about to take Kyron's pictures down. Later, one of them personally stated to a volunteer that Kyron's pictures were somehow "hurting" Shangri La's clients! When the flyers were replaced, Shangri La called police, but police determined that the public display of flyers bearing pictures of missing children is not a crime. Not satisfied, Terri Horman attempted to persuade the court to grant a "no stalking" order against Stacey Green, an activist from a neighboring state, but the court declined, asking Terri Horman if she would be terribly offended if she was asked to take her silly-assed problem to the office down the hall. Okay, maybe they didn't say that, but we know it's on everyone's mind!

Yesterday, Terri Horman resigned from her most auspicious position at Shangri La, because there were flyers bearing Kyron Horman's picture on display within her line of sight. Could there be a more dumbass reason to quit one's job? "Hello? Prospective employer? I resigned from my position at my last place of employment because I didn't like some posters that were placed at the bus stop and at the post office near the building." How ridicules will that sound? Terri obviously isn't interested in maintaining employment. What's even more bizarre is Shangri La's response to the Oregonian, when a reporter telephoned for verification. Brenda Kidder, Shangri La's director of development and community engagement, (they should just change her title to "emperor of ice cream") verified Terri's resignation, but also said "I resent this message." Oh well, Brenda Kidder's not running for office, so she is not obligated to say, "I approve this message!"

Does anyone remember a time, about three years ago. when Terri Horman, sometime stepmother of missing Kyron Horman, who was last seen on June 4, 2010, thought she could find another teaching position?  No school in Oregon, public or private, was willing to hire Terri Horman, but a non-profit organization called Shangri La, which serves disabled and disenfranchised people in different parts of Oregon, actually hired Terri to be a "mental health specialist". She will render "mental health care", probably as a glorified orderly, to children with intellectual difficulties.

As Terri Horman was the last person seen with Kyron before he disappeared, law enforcement was particularly interested in her testimony and timeline on that day. Instead of coming forward with pertinent answers, Terri gave vague and conflicting answers and took two polygraph examinations which yielded results that indicated deceptions when compared against her baseline. Then, there were allegations about Terri conspiring to have her spouse murdered, and four years later, she attempted to change her name to that of a foreign national whose appearance is similar to hers, but this was not permitted by the court. In addition to all of the above, Terri Horman was discharged from a teaching position at an Oregon elementary school because she was unable to co-exist peacefully with the children she taught. All of these "items" would serve as reasons for your faithful blogger to dispose of her resume by way of the circular file, if she answered a classified advertisement, but Shangri La, evidently; is of the more daring variety of employers. At the very least, Shangri La should be able to see that Kyron Horman's missing persons case is still under investigation, and Terri Horman was actually referred to as a "de facto suspect" by a judge who presided over a related case. At any time that the "powers that be" decide to alter her "de facto" status to an active status, pending changes in the investigation, this will bring swarms of police officers of all stripes and temperaments, from all directions, to wherever Terri Horman may physically be located at that moment. If life at Shangri La is truly so dull that such excitement would be welcome, that may be a consideration, but can anyone's liability insurance countenance such risks?

Shangri La has been quite rude in response to questions posed by the general public about taking such risks. What they appear to have overlooked is that the disenfranchised people in their care have rights, along with those from whom they seek donations. Most donors to charities do not donate with the expectation of watching the very people who should be helped by donations become callously endangered and abused, instead. Just something for Shangri La to consider, while it works out new liability insurance rates and develops a linguistically pleasing answer to the queries of any visitor who recognizes Terri Horman.

Terri Horman, Polygraphs, And Name Changes

Terri Horman abandoned her most recent venture to change her name. This is appropriate, because there is still an open investigation into the case of a missing child named Kyron Horman. He disappeared from his school in Portland Oregon in 2010, when he was seven years old. Terri Horman, his stepmother, was the last person to see him that day. To date, she has not answered any question about Kyron, or the day he went missing, truthfully.

It seems that several individuals have "comment bombed" nearly every publication that airs information about Kyron, including Facebook, with complaints that no information was ever released regarding Terri Horman and polygraph examinations. This is simply not true. Kaine Horman cited the information in his complaint for divorce and his petition for primary custody of his daughter, Kiara. Also, James Moulton, Terri's son, discussed the polygraph results with family members who were later interviewed by Willamette Weekly. The "comment bombers" can rest assured that Terri Horman did, indeed, earn the suspicion cast upon her. How does feverish defense of a de facto or a not so terribly de facto suspect in a missing persons case become so all encompassing, anyways?

Terri Horman Has Another Identity Crisis

Terri Moulton Horman, former stepmother of missing Kyron Horman, who disappeared from his school in Portland, Oregon in 2010, when he was seven, wants to try to change her name. She has already tried this once, and the court in Douglas County, Oregon decided against it. Not only had she chosen the name of a foreign national whose hair color and complexion are similar to her own, which could easily create a passport nightmare in the event that a warrant is issued for her arrest, but finding Ms. Horman in another country in the first place would be difficult. Because Ms. Horman is the last person known to have seen Kyron on the day he went missing, the public's best interest would be served if she would cooperate with law enforcement and answer their questions about the day Kyron disappeared from his school before changing her identity. She refuses, and has failed two polygraph examinations, which leaves a gaping hole in the investigation and forces authorities to consider her as a possible suspect in this case, rather than a mere witness. Under those circumstances, Douglas County determined in August that Ms. Horman should not change her name.

Terri Horman's new court date in Lane County, Oregon is on December 11, 2014. To date, she has not cooperated with law enforcement in Kyron's missing persons case and has not answered their questions. Terri Horman And The Mystery Man

One of the reasons for the recent petition that has been circulating about the Kyron Horman case is the somewhat new distraction of the "mystery man" spoken of by Kyron's former stepmother, Terri Horman, and her et els. She and her attorney both purport that there was an unknown man at school with Kyron on June 4, 2010, yet neither of them have expressed a desire to know more about this "mystery man" until recently. Please note that Kyron has been missing for four years. It  really seems that any family member truly hoping to find Kyron would have brought up the existence and presence of this unknown witness immediately after Kyron disappeared, rather than four years, a divorce, and an unsuccessful name change later. Terri, where's Kyron?

There is a petition circulating at the moment, asking the police in Multnomah County, Oregon, to clarify the existence and description of this "mystery man", or lack thereof, as the case may be. The petition can be signed and accessed here. Please note that neither Terri Horman or her attorney wrote the petition or made any request to identify the "mystery man" or bring Kyron home.

A New Petition For Kyron Horman's Case

The four of you that were at the courthouse harrasing and stalking Terri should be arrested for harrasment, violating her rights and being stalkers. You have NO business doing the police's job. All you dramma queens are doing is hurting the investigation. If you have REAL facts to offer the case, I am sure the police would love to gear from you. Give it a rest. Besides, she may not have been the last one to see him. The murderer is  . Also you may have forgotten about innocent until proven guilty. It applies in all cases. Even the ones you think you know about. Or dont like. Someone said "what if it was your kid?" My anser would be simple. If my kid is being harrased and stalked by people accusing them of a crime, posting signs all around the neighborhood claiming that they were guilty beforebeing proven guilty. I would definitely have my day in court with them, I would sue them for liable. So, for thoes of you who feel it is ok to harrase someone that you think is guilty of a crime without due process. Remember, you are giving up your rights to the same due process.

Above is a rant from Craigslist in Roseburg, Oregon, that I found shortly after Terri Moulton Horman's petition to change her name was denied by the Douglas County Court in Oregon. I reproduced it, complete with spelling errors. It contains one statement, which is highlighted, that  I find very unusual, about the "last person" to see Kyron Horman, who disappeared from from his school in Portland, Oregon, in June of 2010. There has been a lot of discussion about this "last person", by law enforcement and by the general public. The difference between the existing discussion and the above Roseburg rant is that the questions and discussions already generated in the Kyron Horman investigation concern the "person who was last seen with Kyron Horman", not the "last person to see Kyron Horman". Those are two very different statements, and do not necessarily mean the same thing at all. Also, exactly how would this Roseburg ranter know that there is a "murderer"? Since Kyron has been missing since June 4, 2010, these details seems rather intimate for the knowing of someone who simply happened to see a flyer with Kyron's picture and a description of the case.

 

A petition has been written, requesting that the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office in Portland, Oregon not only update everyone about the Kyron Horman investigation, but about the "last person" actually seen with Kyron. Because he disappeared from a public school, the community needs to be aware of such a person, if it is someone other than his former step parent, Terri Moulton Horman. Her attorney has also spoken of another person having been seen alone with Kyron Horman on the morning of June 4, 2010, yet to date, an actual description of the person, if the person exists, has not been given. I am asking everyone to sign this petition, which will be delivered to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office and which will hopefully get their attention and give them some inspiration to look for Kyron again.

Maybe Terri Horman Does Tell The Truth Sometimes

It is, by now, a well known fact that Terri Moulton Horman failed several polygraph examinations after her stepson, Kyron Horman, disappeared from a science fair at Skyline Elementary in Portland, Oregon, on June 4, 2010. Above are some statements she made early on about the situation, and the questions investigators had. These remarks are interesting, because Terri makes no effort to tell anyone what she actually did, or where, exactly she went; she simply shifts the responsibility of seeing Kyron last on "kids" or "teacher"......and "teacher" doesn't even have a name in this comment, even though Terri knew the teacher by name.

"I didn't just drop him off"; okay, we all agree she didn't. It looks very much, as if Kyron actually accompanied Terri or one of her et els when she left the school. "I spent time with him, took pictures." That's obvious, but where did Terri spend time with Kyron and take pictures? It wasn't at the science fair! And as for thinking that Kyron was in "safe hands", she contradicts herself when she states that he was "walking down the hall". Which hall? Whose hands? She didn't say! It apparently was not anyone at Kyron's school! Who were the "kids" who saw Kyron after she "left", and from where did she "leave"? That information is conveniently omitted from her statement. There IS a grain of truth here, though; Kyron's teacher actually did mark Kyron absent at 10;00 AM. But then we move on to something more unsettling. Terri names a "place" between "9 and 10" as a possible location for "when" "it" happened. Time is a dimension separate from length or mass, and does not define or describe physical location, per se. Unless Terri was describing places called 9 and 10, her statement makes no sense. There is also no explanation of whom she meant by the pronoun "we" or to which event was referred by "it". Just a bunch of nonspecific gibberish immediately after a seven year old boy had disappeared. 

This is the kind of nonsense we get from people who do not want to take responsibility for oversights or mistakes, and from people who feel that the laws do not apply to them and that the rest of us are not entitled to the truth. 

Terri Horman; The Name Remains The Same

Terri Moulton Horman is still Terri Moulton Horman, not Claire Sullivan.  No new name granted. This is good news for the real Claire Sullivan, whose trademark is now safe! But still very disappointing for Terri Horman, who will not testify or help in any way in the missing persons case of her former stepson, Kyron Horman. The name remains the same! If Terri Moldy Whoremoan, or whatever it is, wants to change her name, she should write something noteworthy, or become a world famous artist. That way, she could go to court and acquire an identity connected to her work. Or she could try to find someone, somewhere, of the opposite gender who has not heard about Kyron, and try to get married. She's had quite a career thus far as a professional married-getter, anyways! What's one more wedding? Isn't that how women used to change their names, before women actually had names?

A Moulton By Any Other Name

A Moulton by any other name. Would it still be a Moulton? We may find out one day soon, as Terri Moulton Horman, former step parent of missing Kyron Horman, wants to change her name to Claire Stella Sullivan. After failing two lie detector tests after Kyron disappeared from his second grade class at school and walking out on a third lie detector test, refusing to help in any way with the subsequent searches, giving at least half a dozen accounts as to her whereabouts on June 4, 2010, when Kyron went missing, and sending naked pictures of herself to one of her husband's friends while everyone else in the family, with the notable exceptions of her parents, were passing out flyers with Kyron's picture and contact information; it's probably obvious why Terri would feel embarrassed and unpopular enough to consider changing her name. How she settled on "Claire Stella Sullivan" is anyone's guess!

Will a name change even help Terri Moulton Horman's image very much? It might, as long as Terri never develops any close friendships. The internet-free past probably would have offered her better luck at starting over, after all of the bad publicity she's received, with a new name. But in this day and age, anyone can google her new name and find out, in a matter of minutes, that a mystery involving a missing child is in her past. The most likely result, upon such a discovery, is complete personal rejection, no matter the context of the perspective relationship. Not many people would even buy Tupperware from Terri Moulton Horman.

Some parents and families of missing children, such as the family of Etan Patz, try not to move house, or even change their telephone numbers until their missing children are found. If Kyron is still alive, and looking for his family, (yes, I think it's important to hope for the best until informed otherwise) won't it be easier to locate them if they do not change their names? Just something for Claire Stella Sullivan a.k.a. Terri Moulton Horman to think about, in addition to any unpaid child support or other debt left over from her recent divorce from Kyron's father.

Roseburg Oregon Fundraiser For Kyron

It has been almost four years since Kyron Horman disappeared from his school in Portland, Oregon, when he was seven years old. He hasn't been found, and everyone involved is frustrated. Well, almost everyone. Three people involved in the case do not appear to care. These three are Terri Horman, former spouse and sometime step-parent of Kyron, also the last known person to see Kyron; and her parents, Carol and Larry Moulton.

How fortunate for them that there will be a fundraiser this weekend in Roseburg, where they reside, to fund future searches for Kyron. They can support Kyron by getting their cars washed or making a donation. We will hope that they resist the urge to pass out flyers bearing incorrect information. If Terri Horman wants to raise money to search for Kyron, she should pose on a dunking tank and let passers-by throw beanbags to dunk her in a water tank. That would be a lot more productive than putting up posters containing misinformation.

Terri Horman, sometime step parent of missing Kyron Horman, who disappeared at age seven from his school in Portland, Oregon, has made headlines again. Kyron went missing in 2010, and June 4 will mark the four year anniversary of this horrible event, and his former stepmother has finally put up a few posters with Kyron's picture on them. After four years. Yeah. (eye-rolley here)

There are several problems with Terri posters. First of all, she's a little late. Kyron has been missing for four years, and if he is still alive, he could not possibly resemble the seven year old in his pictures anymore. The gesture not only would have been more meaningful, but would have been more helpful, had she done it when Kyron first needed to be recognized and found. And in Roseburg, Oregon, where Terri lives, there was not anywhere near as much attention to Kyron's case as there was in Portland, from where he disappeared. For that reason, posters would actually have been informative and helpful in Roseburg.

The second problem with Terri's posters is that they mention that Kyron was seen with an "unknown man". Four years after the fact, any "unknown" persons are extemporaneous details inasmuch as the general public is concerned. If Terri Horman had any information that law enforcement lacked about any unidentified witnesses, she should have given that information to law enforcement at the moment police were first called. She should also have passed her polygraphs, given factual statements about her whereabouts that day, and communicated truthfully with Kyron's teacher, using a pen and a piece of paper, about any medical appointments Kyron may or may not have had. The purpose of a picture of a missing persons poster is photo recognition. The general public is not charged with the task of solving the crime. If it happens to look as if Terri's story, or Terri's five or six stories, are lacking in sincerity and truthful detail, she should address that with law enforcement.

The third problem with these posters preferred by Terri Horman is that they give out the wrong contact information. The best way to get the correct contact information and picture on a missing person flyer is to use the flyers and posters given out and posted by law enforcement, or use the ones produced by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Car Wash To Benefit Kyron

Tomorrow, in Beaverton Oregon, there will be a car wash to raise funds for more searches and awareness efforts to find Kyron Horman, who disappeared from Skyline Elementary in Portland Oregon in June of 2010, when he was seven years old. 

Below is a picture of a vehicle whose owners, Carol and Larry Moulton, were in Portland Oregon on the day Kyron disappeared. Amid all the reports of white pickup trucks, connected to Kyron's case, taken by law enforcement, one must wonder if the white pickup truck in the picture was ever searched or processed.......

Terri Horman's New Camera

Now that more folks in Oregon have made known their hopes to see young Kyron Horman reunited with his family, Terri Horman, his former stepmother, is taking a brand new interest in photography. It seems that Terri's parents, with whom she resides, are adverse to any vigils or awareness campaigns in their town of Roseburg. If Kyron has not been located by June 4, it will mark the fourth anniversary of his disappearance from school during a science fair. Terri Horman reportedly dropped him off at school that morning and was the last person to see him.

Below is a picture of a security camera installed by Carol and Larry Moulton, Terri's parents. Most home security cameras are installed a bit closer to the house itself, if not on the house, itself. Also, such cameras tend to be focused on entrances and exits, or windows. But if the reader will notice, Terri Horman's new camera is focused on the street, not the house. It would almost appear that Terri Horman isn't really interested in home security! She's really interested in watching vigils without actually attending any vigils!
