Will Pat Roberts Please Shut Up?

An open letter from Pat Roberts, (R-Ks) Jerry Moran, (R-Ks) and et els, to another country, concerning matters of state, in defiance of the White House......yet another reason Kansas republicans do NOT deserve respect! President Obama does not need the likes of Pat Retard and Jerry Moron to undermine his efforts at diplomatic conversations with Iran about war! It seems that Republicans think that keeping the Middle East in as much military conflict as possible, rather than solutions that involve peace, or at least holding back, on war, is better for the world, and for the United States, than peace. The more bloodshed, the happier Roberts will be. Hopefully, his former Kansas page, who supports him ad nauseam, will pick up arms and join in! Or are Republicans only supportive of military actions and bloodshed that do not involve their own?

This may or may not be a direct and clear example of treason, per se. There are arguments circulating the web, at this moment, suggesting that the United States indict the morons who drafted this letter. While most of the supporters of the Kansas representatives who signed this letter only support the First Amendment in cases involving their own protected speech, setting a precedent for prosecutions of treason is a serious matter. This country is seriously divided over some very petty things, and the supporters of Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran voted according to petty feelings surrounding the race of one of President Obama's parents, rather than any agenda, even of treason. Perhaps the more intellectual, thinking citizens in Kansas, if not outnumbered by insane racists, could lead an effort to recall Roberts and Moran and install more intelligent fair minded types.

The real problem with gestures such as this is that it shows America's potential enemies, worldwide, the weaknesses that can be exploited at home. The fact that Americans are actually stupid enough to be divided for racist reasons has become not only an embarrassment, but an actual defense problem. While citizens are bickering, attempting to dress up ugly, racist opinions about their president in the most politically correct garb they can find for their nonsensical horror and make themselves appear "christian", a`la the new testament, any enemy the nation has can clearly see that the division extends all the way to Congress, the Senate, and challenges the White House. Is this helpful in terms of defense, or does this put those who volunteer to defend our country in unnecessary danger? Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran, by signing that stupid letter, have inched, or maybe lurched, our country closer to another war. Do we need this? Think about it, Kansas, and stfu.

Open Letter To Dr. And Mrs. Timothy Monahan

Dr. Timothy Monahan and his wife, Jennifer, of Liberty, Missouri, went to Guatemala in 2008 and left that country with a kidnapped child. They did not kidnap the little girl, but they bought her from an organized crime ring that stole her from her mom, while she was taking groceries inside. They left the country as quickly as they could, despite the missing persons posters with little Anyeli's face. Later on, in Missouri, they denied that they had purchased a stolen child, but the DNA testing told a different story.

Dr. Monahan, why won't you just admit that you accidentally got involved with a bunch of dangerous thugs, and give Anyeli back to her mother? You may have noticed that I used the word "purchased" instead of "adopted" in the paragraph above. It was not a typo. You did NOT adopt Anyeli Rodriguez, and she is NOT your daughter. Adoptions happen when all parties are in agreement about the matter, and they go through the court legally, in all countries concerned. The identities of all parties are clear, no fake names, no phony birth certificates. This did not happen in the case of the missing child you brought back to America from Guatemala. What did happen was a kidnapping, followed by false imprisonment, followed by fraud, (falsified birth certificate) followed by abandonment, followed by the act of human trafficking in which you continue to engage. You may not have known what was happening at first, although if you are actually innocent, it seems as if you would have given the victim back to her parents, but now that you know, why do you continue to assert your illicit connection to the victim, albeit not initially your fault, over the legitimate connection of her birth mother? If you had done this in America, that child would be back with her family. Is a middle class Guatemalan mom really that much easier to impugn?

Ya know, Dr. Monahan, if Anyeli were my child, I would do whatever I had to do to bring her home. Your money, your big house, your housekeepers and receptionists.........all those things would not convince me that my child was better off with you. I don't think Anyeli's TRUE mother thinks so, either. Anyeli is simply not your child, that is all there is to it. Anyeli was the victim of a kidnapping, and she was found far away from her home, in a different country. Why do you think you have a right to keep her, now that she has been found? Did you purchase her fair and square, like a couch or a second hand car? Do you really think it's possible that you love Anyeli, even though her mother searched relentlessly for over five years to find her? What were you doing for those five years? Do you think you prayed as hard as Anyeli's family? I don't think it is possible that you experience love, because this situation has called for the reuniting of mother and child ever since you found out who she actually is, yet you resist. You are really a selfish pig, not a dad.

Suppose Kyron Horman, or Lisa Irwin were found? Suppose they were found living with families who have more money than their natural parents? Would those people, no matter how they got these kidnapped children, get to keep them, because they were rich enough to impugn the natural parents? Should it be okay for people with more money to just go out, and have kids stolen, from people with less money? Or would Kyron's parents demand him back, at once? But that's easy.........I have assumed that both children mentioned above are on American soil. Suppose a missing child from America is found in Guatemala? Should we tell the anxiety-ridden natural parents the same thing you are telling your prisoner's parents? Finders keepers, losers weepers? What if authorities in other countries are watching this, and think everyone in America is as creepy and evil as you? What if this sets some sort of a precedent, and other countries decide not to work with the United States in kidnapping cases anymore, because of you? Please give the little girl back.

I do not live too far away from you, Dr. and Mrs. Monahan. That brings me to another reason I really hope that you will do the right thing and let Anyeli's true parents have her back. This has caused a bit of an international fracus. The United States appears to be vested enough in human trafficking, during these dismal economic times, to look the other way while you keep a child who was kidnapped, but what if Anyeli's family decides not to look the other way? Suppose Loyda Rodriguez loves her child more than you can imagine loving anyone? Suppose Anyeli's family is not going to just give up? You obviously imagine that they have forgotten their daughter, but what if they haven't? Anyeli's own country wants her back, and; after all, you ARE holding  a Guatemalan citizen against her will. What if some sort of retaliation against you changes the area for all of us?  Can you see why many people, even if not vested in morals and love of children, would like to see you just do the right thing and give this kidnapping victim back to her Guatemalan family? I know you feel that you bought her fair and square, but human beings are not for sale.

A Letter From Topeka

This morning, Chad Taylor, of the District Attorney's Office in Topeka, issued a letter to everyone about the fact that he does not prosecute most crime anymore. It is kind of wordy, so I will link you to it here, and I will just quote part of it. I don't think he really says anything of value to his constituents in the letter, anyway. We all know that he is just making a choice which he says is based on budget cuts, and most of us feel that it is a bad choice. The people who don't feel that it is okay to judicially ignore misdemeanors are petty criminals and domestic violence thugs. What's happening with them is this: the police arrest them and put them in jail, and within a certain amount of time, they get released, because the district attorney in Topeka never charges them with a crime, because there is not enough money in the budget to prosecute petty crimes any more.

Here's a tidbit from the letter that explains Chad Taylor's intentions the best:

In preparation for this policy change, my office discontinued the filing of any new city misdemeanors. Ethical and practical considerations required that we stop filing new criminal cases that we knew would have to be dismissed shortly once budget cuts were instituted and we no longer had the necessary personnel to prosecute these newly filed cases. Our office has continued prosecuting all previously filed city misdemeanors as well as any new misdemeanors that occur outside the city limits, but within Shawnee County.

There are several things that I find disturbing about this, among them is the idea that if I ran a business in Topeka, my insurance would probably go up, since the DA has very publicly stated that is it almost legal to steal there. A myriad of other crimes no longer have consequences, either. But what I find most disturbing is this..........domestic violence and child abuse are both usually misdemeanors. The victim has to present with fatal or near-fatal injuries for these crimes to become felonies. Guess what's happening with domestic violence thugs in Topeka now, friends.........Yes indeed......these creeps are getting arrested initially by cops who don't want to find corpses at the same addresses later on, after they stop the violence; but since Chad Taylor knows that it is a lot more cost effective, from a strictly fiscal point of view, to bury a domestic violence victim that to help her, or to bury or sell a child abuse victim than to help a family find other options, these offenders are getting released almost as quickly as they get arrested. How long will it take for someone in power to give the police a directive to stop intervening in domestic violence situations at all?

I asked this a couple of weeks ago on this blog, and I will ask it again. Wouldn't it have been a better idea, for the safety of the general public, if Chad Taylor had decided to stop prosecuting victimless crimes, instead? As a citizen, I am completely uninterested in sending someone to prison for years on end and limiting his or her opportunities forever with a permanant criminal record just because he or she took a bong hit somewhere, at the wrong place or time. As a taxpayor, I am completely uninterested in paying for the indefinate room and board for that type of "criminal", too. In fact, the biggest impact prohibition laws have had on our entire population is the criminalizing of people who would not otherwise have had encounters with our judicial system. Think of all the money Topeka could save it it didn't focus on bong hits. Nationwide, if we just loosened our grip on prohibition laws concerning marijuana (don't get me wrong, folks, I am NOT condoning drunk driving, opium dens, dirty needles, or bathtub gin!) we could effect the pleasant result of forcing the drug cartels to look for income elsewhere and lots of drug dealers would have to find gainful employment. Did Chad Taylor give this any thought?

Hopefully, Chad Taylor will stop this nonsense and start doing his job again, before I have to create another post.
