How To Stop The Violence Against Police Officers

Want to know how to stop angry people from taking the law into their own hands against the violent, heavy handed police officers who have been recklessly shooting minorities, lately? Abolish qualified immunity for all police, and force them to obey the law. If pigs faced the same consequences for crime as the rest of the population, it is likely that they would not be as trigger-happy around minorities as they so often are; and if victims and other aggrieved parties had access to justice, there would be fewer people taking the law into their own hands.

Ben Fields Is Why Some Cops Are Called Pigs

The name of the pig in the video above is Ben Fields. He is not only a pig, but a football coach at Spring Valley High School, in South Carolina. The child in the video incurred his wrath because he was called on her for refusal to hand over her cell phone to the teacher. The teacher called the principal, who also asked for the cell phone, and she refused to give it to him, as well. And when she refused to leave the room, the cops were called. Could this have possibly been handled any other way?

First of all, why didn't the school call the girl's parents, rather than the police? Why didn't the teacher just wait until after class to talk to the principal about enforcing the rule against cell phones? When the police were called, why didn't the officer wait for backup when the girl refused to get out of her seat, so that she could be apprehended from her crime of sitting still without any violence? And while cell phones are not allowed in many schools, is it a policy infraction or a crime to take a cell phone to school? Does a rogue cell phone on the person of a student really require the expertise of Godzilla? After all, not all schools manage these problems the same way. In Marshall County Kansas, cell phones are allowed in public schools. Even when certain students take guns to school during hunting season, it is often permitted, and the complaints of concerned parents are ignored by law enforcement. Guns, in this case; not cell phones.

Speaking of cell phones, another child in the classroom at Spring Valley High School also had a cell phone, but had not been instructed to turn it over to the teacher, as had the child in the video. As a result, Officer Ben Fields found himself on candid camera. Fields should really have behaved when he saw that camera getting footage of his actions.

Good Riddance To Violent Texas Cop

A very violent police officer named Eric Casebolt has just resigned, after the public has seen the footage of his attack on the teenage girl in Texas, who was invited to a pool party. Apparently, a few young people who were not invited to the pool party arrived and crashed the party, but since they were the same race as this young lady, she got assaulted and battered by a police officer. That's as much sense as yours truly can make of the whole mess, anyways. But here's a question: even if the kids were completely in the wrong to be at a swimming pool, clad in bathing suits and clutching towels, why is that much force required against children? And if you watch the video, you will notice that, not only was a gun pulled on these children, it was waved in all of their faces. Is this how white police officers in Texas are trained to treat black children? It seems so....the white mother in the video who did not want her racist face shown thought the cops were just doing their job of keeping the swimming pools in Texas white. Shouldn't America have grown up by now?

Richard Nixon's speech after four students were killed at Kent State. No one had threatened law enforcement; they simply determined that the approach of questioning authority should be met with lethal violence. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Ten days after the incident at Kent State, there was a similar protest at Jackson State University, a Black college in Mississippi. Police came, sprayed bullets into gatherings of unarmed students, and actually fired shots into dormitory windows, killing two and injuring nine. The media did not make a big deal of it, though.

Police Brutality: Another One Bites The Dust

Antonio Zambrano-Montes was fatally shot by police the other day. He was homeless and mentally ill, and running away from law enforcement when he got shot. No one knows why he threw rocks, or why he threw rocks into passing traffic, as the allegations maintain, but Zambrano-Montes was not advancing toward law enforcement. He was no longer holding any rocks, and did not have a weapon. Since when is it the job of law enforcement to circumvent the court and carry out the death penalty? Did Zambrano-Montes receive this sentence for throwing some rocks, or for being homeless and mentally ill?

I'm Just An Innocent Policeman's Wife

So the wife of a Ferguson, Missouri police officer wants us to feel sorry for her. Normally, I would not agree with anyone having to live under threats of violence, but after some experience living in neighboring Kansas, my opinion has changed, somewhat. Whenever I make requests of my local school district, USD 380 Vermillion, that their schools guarantee at least an honest effort at compliance with federal and state law, the secretary at the superintendent's office will rudely tell me to move house and live somewhere else. Pam Slifer does not want me to ask what will be done if another child is abandoned a few miles away from school and officially missing, as my daughter was in October of 2009 when a guidance counselor named Tom Schroeder transported her in his vehicle and dumped her, allowing her to remain missing until she got a ride back with strangers. (Suck it up, Frankfort, my daughter told me that those men who picked her up were NOT part of any search party, and that NO search party had been formed. The school board's spin on it was nothing but a LIE) Pam Slifer would rather tell me to move than tell me what policy Frankfort and Centralia Kansas follow when children and adults take drugs, alcohol, and guns to school with them. She feels that because Frankfort is a small town, and because she lives there, I personally owe her the liberty to violate the law and endanger my children. The wife of this Ferguson policeman feels that she, too, is owed some sort of special privilege not granted to the rest of the population. In the face of black men being shot by white policemen, just for being black men, (which is not the law, by the way) the families of those who are allowed to shoot minorities at will want special protection so they can enjoy their special privilege! Ha! I say that anyone who wants the freedom to violate the laws and step on the rights of others at will should move.....if a place where lawlessness can be guaranteed by cohorts, witnesses, and victims can actually be found.

Pam Slifer feels that because the violent intent expressed here uses my married name and not my birth name, the facebooker and police officer are not guilty of actually referring to me, and that the person to whom they refer does not exist. This is how these people deny and rationalize every dirtball act or intention in which they engage. Why should the wife of a police officer get to live worry-free? 

To Whom It May Concern

It's not a very good idea to stalk veterans who have served during wartime and been involved in hand to hand combat. In fact, it's one of the stupidest things you frankfurter morons have done, so far. I don't know what Melissa Kennedy and Dean Dalinghaus have told you in order to convince you that it is somehow "okay" to play these games, but please remember that neither of them have ever lived anywhere that required them to learn other languages or customs, and neither of them have been involved in war. When Melissa pretends she cares about veterans, that is all it is: pretend. This I know for a fact, because she would not only be more grateful to those who fought for her rights to produce offspring from multiple baby-daddies and pretend it all happened within holy wedlock, but she would also know better than to encourage those of lesser IQ than herself (albeit not much) to commit hate crimes and acts of violence against them. As for Dalinghaus, he is just a moron. Encouraging children at the school he administrates to commit acts of violence against a disabled child he does not like is classic bigotry, and if you answer to him for some reason, you should consider growing up and finding a less dangerous victim.

Also, please be warned that tempered glass does not last forever, and shatters at unpredictable intervals. Those windows that seem to have captured your interest should be left alone. The "No Trespassing" sign you ignored while parked in the alley and in front of the neighbor's house is not only to express our feelings about spending time with the average frankfurter, it is to absolve us from any liability in the event that any member of the under socialized, native population in this little metropolis leaves our property with fewer appendages than he or she sported upon entry. Despite what Dalinghaus will tell you about places such as Baltimore and our nations's capitol, (I have lived in both cities) it is not common for "guests" to announce their presence by banging, uninvited, on windows, or by other criminal acts. I don't suppose you have considered the fact that in a town of about seven hundred people, just a few violent crimes will drive the per capita crime rate higher than that of a big city. Has any teacher at Frankfort High School had the competence to teach you that? Ironically, Kansas is extremely liberal about self defense.

Banned In Kansas Public Schools

A new neighbor and I had a laugh the other day about Frankfort High School and it's ban of my site at their school. Frankfort High allows Facebook, a few porn sites, violent video games, and all other blogs on their computers, but not mine. Frankfort also allows convicted felons who are not employed at the school, and who have no children attending the school, to simply "hang around" in the building during the day, but the reading of Siri's World And The Dissenting Opinion is strictly banned!

This is actually pretty funny. Also, to anyone who wants a bunch of teenagers to do something, the best way to gain their cooperation is to forbid it. Seriously. But my site has no porn, and most of the slang the reader will encounter here is guff from a troll named Melissa Kennedy, who teaches at Frankfort! I also do not support the use of illegal drugs or any type of criminal behavior, I do not violate copyrights, threaten, or abuse any other law, so what makes my site so dangerous? Remember, Dean Dalinghaus, principal of Frankfort Experiment, actually told a parent that he deliberately omitted as much teaching about the Constitution as possible, because when children learn about it, running a school "becomes harder". Deanis Dalinghaus may be qualified to lead lemmings over a cliff, but he is not qualified to administrate a school. My children do not attend his sorry excuse for a public school any longer.

Something that does bother me is the message that was sent to my six children, about me, concerning respect. Frankfort School, by banning my site, while allowing all kinds of messages and input from other parents, basically told my children that they feel that I do not deserve respect. Why is Frankfort so threatened by any discussion of what goes on in the world outside of Frankfort, especially in schools? Schools where music teachers do not boff their students and get them knocked up. Schools that do not allow convicted felons awaiting space in federal prison to wander about the campus. Schools that employ teachers who do not abandon students four miles away from school and just forget about them. School that do not continue the employ of teachers who tell veterans that they "do not give two shits about the flag" (quote belongs to Melissa Kennedy) when they disagree about the candidate the veteran supports in an election. If Frankfort High School was actually so terribly threatened because of this site, simply banning all social media would have been more discreet. It would have protected my children from that lovely Christian hatred they seem to run into all over Kansas and would have certainly made it easier for them to concentrate on studies instead of cliques and local politics. But then, Frankfort High School isn't really interested in studies, or in protecting children. Frankfort High School in only interested in ways to express racism, prejudism, ignorance, ethnocentrism, and stupidity. They also favor lies and dishonesty. Open attempts to teach any child to disrespect parents is actually against the cause of education. Frankfort High School really should be shut down, consolidated with other public schools, and forgotten about.

Another sillyassed bunch of people who feel threatened by education and intelligence is attempting to ban Neil Degrasse Tyson's contributions to PBS in the entire state of Oklahoma. School officials in Saddlebridge, Oklahoma do not want any students watching Neil Degrasse Tyson's "Cosmos". It contains new theories and new knowledge, combined with old fashioned math and common sense, that apparently scares these teachers. So what's the best plan of action? Ban the knowledge, of course. That way, no student will ask a question that cannot be answered at school.

You can read some of them here. Be warned, however; that the comments reproduced and shared are unaltered, and contain all of the foul language that originated in the minds of the senders. If protection from the legal consequences of their own actions generated the banning of this site in Frankfort High School, despite the open recognition of first amendment rights of KKK supporters, Westboro Baptist Church and their ilk, pornography creators, and bible thumpers, perhaps Mrs. Rottinghaus could have simply stated that she was protecting the school from a lawsuit that might result from teachers harassing innocent parents, such as yours truly. No need to demonize someone who does not endanger children and use computers to make threats. Why do Frankfort teachers use computers to spread anger and hate, anyway?  Along with deliberately leaving children alone during school hours in places and situations where they are vulnerable and have no defense or resources in the event of medical or situational emergency, Frankfort teachers threaten and abuse parents who ask for safe schools! USD 380 in Kansas is not a very good school. Maybe colleges will begin to think twice before accepting it's students.

Wrong Place At Wrong Time In Colorado

Clair Davis was in the "wrong place at the wrong time", according to Greyson Robinson, of the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office in Colorado. Yet, the public school she attends is in the same district as her home, and the day she was shot by her fellow student, Karl Halverson Pierson, she was exactly where she was supposed to be....in school. Why would going to school involve the need to worry about escaping a deranged shooter? Why can't her parents correctly assume that their daughter is safe when she is where she is supposed to be during the day....in school?

Karl Halverson Pierson was where he was supposed to be, too. The item that was not where it was supposed to be was the shotgun he took to school with him. Oh; the Molotov cocktails in his backpack didn't belong in school either, but at least Pierson didn't blow anything up. Why do some Americans have so much trouble recognizing who was in the right place or in the wrong place at any time? Clair Davis has every right to be in school, where she was; and she has every right to expect to be in the right place, school, at the right time, without  getting shot. Especially by an adult classmate who had a right to buy a shotgun. Is it really too hard to ask that guns not be brought to school?

The 2013-2014 school began on an awkward note in Kansas because no one seems to know where to draw the line concerning guns and schools. In July of this year, Kansas decided that teachers and other school employees could take concealed weapons with them to work. The insurance company that underwrites policies for about ninety percent of the public schools in Kansas decided against that type of risk. If no one else wants to look at the possibilities of a random adult working inside of a school not being a perfect marksman, or lacking the training to determine when to use deadly force against your children and mine, at least the insurance company does! And well they might; they are deeply vested in the bottom line, not the popularity contest we call "small town atmosphere". Pierson was an adult, as was Adam Lanza, the shooter at Sandy Hook, in Connecticut last year. Adults with deadly weapons may actually be a bigger problem, from an insurer's standpoint, than children with deadly weapons.

It's a sobering reality when a school, of all places, becomes the "wrong place at the wrong time" to the extent that the school cannot even purchase liability or other types of insurance. We can't protect our children from everything, but don't they deserve to be in school, and in the right place at the right time, safely?

 

A Camera Is The Best Weapon

Cameras. Those darn things pop up everywhere, don't they? Yesterday's police used to be able to get away with presenting their side of any story, practically unchallenged, without question. Today, with the advent of inexpensive home security cameras switched on at random times, business surveillance, satellites, digital cameras of all grades and price ranges, and of course, those pesky cell phones, ever in the hands of nosy, trouble-making bystanders, lying with impunity has gotten more complicated! What's a cop to do? Especially when his own surveillance tells a different story than he tells? Even the Google cameras aren't always a policeman's friend!

This Chicago forty-seven year old woman, arrested for DWI when she fell asleep behind the wheel, got picked up and thrown into a cell, as you can plainly see in the video, by a cop about twice her size. He tried to accuse her of "resisting arrest", but the camera tells a different story. Hopefully, he will be "guided" by the same judicial system to choose a different career, as he has shown that he clearly has the potential to cost the taxpayers in Illinois much more than his salary.

That "resisting arrest" line was once a cop's free ticket to violence. In fact, not only cops, but many a person not desirous of just dealings, particularly in small towns, would use the old "she cussed at me", or "he lost his temper and got upset" routine in order to justify not doing the right thing, whatever that may have been, depending on circumstances. Yours truly recently received a bill for monies she did not owe, and upon contesting the bill, was told to "pay it anyways, because that's what everyone else does"! Yours truly had no intention of doing any such thing, and eventually got an attorney involved, but what do you suppose was said by the person to whom she presented the error? You probably guessed correctly: "she got angry and swore at me, boohoohoo.....my poor little ears have never heard such things, and my poor little innards are so offended!" The truth is, I never even raised my voice. I simply stated that the bill was incorrect, and told the person why it was incorrect. Because I was on speakerphone, others in my immediate surroundings heard the conversation and know exactly what I said, which is not what the Northeast Kansas woman at the other end of the phone wanted others to believe I said. She wanted the carte blanche to say I said other things, which I did not say; and to be believed, unquestioned, just because she is a white, Northeast Kansas, Christian thingamajigger who has always gotten her own way, even when grossly attempting to get over on others. Technology has taken away this carte blanche.

Getting those who are accustomed to misrepresenting the truth accustomed, instead, to the reality of cameras and other technology will be an interesting task during the twenty-first century.

National Government Shutdown Day

There is a group of Kansas citizens who have been protesting sporadically outside of Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins's Pittsburg Kansas office since the Government Shutdown began on October 1. They have decided to make the most of the situation, and use it as an opportunity to remind Jenkins that even though the rivers tend to flow Republican in Kansas, (no pun intended, there actually IS a Republican River in Kansas) there are still many voters affiliated with the Democrat Party and the Republican Party who are not happy with Jenkins's tendency to bow to the Tea Party, and sell out to the Koch Brothers whenever the pressure is on. So they have put together signs and banners with various messages; "Tea Time Is Over" has been a popular one, and peacefully protested this past week.

This is a great idea, and it is heartwarming to see that Kansans care enough about the misdeeds of those in authority to speak up about it. It could be taken to a higher level, though. Instead of being afraid when the media puppetry suggests doom and gloom, and makes the recommendation of being afraid, we could make a celebration out of it. Now that operations that have been shut down are slowly but surely getting re-opened, one by one, as the need and public outcry dictates, we can all see that a lot of this "shutdown" business is really an outlet for congressional and senatorial drama. It's a shame our representatives apparently never excelled in drama or forensics when they were in high school, and are acting out now, using the rest of us as a "forced audience" of sorts, but it seems this is the sad result of failing to learn cooperation and communication skills and failing to grow up. Boehner, we are all looking at you, here. When we want  drama queens, we will look to the Kardashians, not to Congress.

Suppose, every year, the government shut down on October 1 in order to remember and celebrate October 1, 2013? It could be a day that we close everything except "essential" services and gather outside of city halls and government buildings everywhere in the nation. We could barbecue, sell hotdogs, and create a carnival atmosphere, encouraging the drama espoused by Congress right now. Anyone with a gripe about a flaw within local or national politics would have the opportunity to picket, and draw attention to his chosen cause. We could also stage Revolutionary War reenactments. Schools, of course, would be closed on National Government Shutdown Day. Instead of furloughing government employees, we could give anyone who wanted to work on that day an option of taking the day off, or participating in a drive to register potential voters. Not only would National Government Shutdown Day be a celebration and an outlet for repressed angst, it could be educational and constructive.

The only guideline that should be strictly enforced is possibly that there should be no violence, just constructive fun, as the Fourth of July is celebrated. No one can be hanged in effigy, and no destruction of property can be tolerated. Instead, we can write petitions requesting that officials go back to school, switch to more suitable careers, or resign. In more serious cases, National Government Shutdown Day can be a day when we write petitions and complaints to initiate recalls and investigations of those officials and elected servants whose performance is truly unacceptable. Violence, however; is never a constructive direction for change.

As an added bonus, the weather is usually very nice in the beginning of October, and conducive to nonviolent gatherings. Mild weather is great for picnics. When school re-opens the following day, classroom discussions could take place nationwide for the purpose of teaching children how their government works, and about what happens when it does not work.
