So Donald Trump gave us the real reason he wouldn't temporarily suspend the Jones Act in order to get supplies to storm ravaged Puerto Rico. Yep; he did not have the approval of Koch Brothers (not that Puerto Rico buys fuel from them) and others who ship goods to go ahead and save lives in Puerto Rico. The whims of the shipping industry and the dollars of big businesses have Trump's ear, his heart, and apparently, his decisions; while Trump's constituents have no representation. And this past week, it has cost American lives. We do not yet have an accurate count on deaths caused in Puerto Rico by Hurricane Maria, but after the storm lulled and it became possible to ship goods and medical supplies to the island, any death caused by waiting too long for the same can and should be blamed on Donald Trump. Nice going, Trump supporters. Many of us saw this coming. In fact, it is one of the biggest reasons he did not get the vote of yours truly. Say what you will about Trump's opponent; she would never have demanded that Americans die. Trump puts big business first. He does not care about people. Remember that.
Oh; it is worth mentioning that the Jones Act was suspended temporarily to get supplies into Texas and Florida after they were hit by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma.
