Very Smart School Board Decision
If that picture were to stay, there should be other pictures alongside it. Perhaps one like this:
Dylan Redwine Found
Dylan Redwine, who disappeared a few days before Thanksgiving of last year, has finally been found, about ten miles north of Vallecito. He was only thirteen years old. We have allowed the world to become too dangerous of a place for our children.

Once Again, Film And Record All Police Encounters
For some reason, ego-driven police officers do not seem to like citizens bearing cameras and cell phones. Especially if said citizens decide to film or record certain encounters with said police officers. It would seem logical to simply behave in a civil manner and use manners, good ones, when dealing with the public; but instead, many police officers would rather behave badly and unlawfully,
grabbing and destroying any cell phone or camera footage of their actions. They don't want the public to know about the children they deliberately endanger or the middle-aged moms and housewives they assault and batter when prosecutors need to intimidate entire communities.
The video above shows some police officers in Pennsylvania harassing a tenant because they wanted to serve an arrest warrant on her landlord, who had neglected to mow the lawn. Yes, you read that correctly; there was an arrest warrant for someone because he didn't mow the lawn! The tenant at the property got some footage of the cops who came to her door and harassed her, and the prosecutor actually defended them. It's too bad he is unaware of a recent case which originated in Kansas, and was eventually decided in favor of the defendant in the Supreme Court.........specifically, the only time the police can barge into someone's home or apartment uninvited without a warrant or probable cause is when an immediate danger presents itself, and an "immediate danger" is specifically defined as a weapon in the hand of the person who answers the door, not anywhere else inside the house.
Record and film all contact with law enforcement. Have your children do the same.

Have You Guys Had Enough Koolaide Yet?
This is the latest from Anonymous on Edward Snowden. China would not cooperate with the United States in sending Snowden back home to face prosecutorial misconduct and judicial harassment for the act, not the crime, of informing the American population about the abuses by the American government of their fourth amendment rights. Russia would not send Snowden back to the United States, either. While Booz Allen Hamilton, Snowden's former employer, probably has a civil complaint with Snowden, the government most certainly does not. If the United States government has a complaint with anyone, it is Booz Allen Hamilton, in the form of a civil case. There is no call to charge Snowden with espionage and ruin his life. When is the Koolaide going to stop running from everyone's kitchen faucet?
Question Of The Day
What do you call a single, male, high school guidance counselor whose female students answer the landline at his home, where he lives alone, several hours after school is dismissed? Here in Northeast Kansas, we call him "Tom", because he tells students to address him by his first name!

Art Not Imitating Life!
To the left is how a goofy, unsmart, fundamentalist Christian, Marshall County Kansas undersheriff sees himself, as per his profile picture on Facebook. He thinks he has more regard from Providence than others because he attends a fundamentalist Christian church. And below is an illustration of how he really appears! This is definitely an instance in which art and life do not imitate each other! I can hear my High Priestess in West Virginia now, pining away for the days of ancient Rome, when we tossed such evangelical nonsensicals to the lions!

Nebraska Amber Alert
A one year old girl named Mystery Bringsplenty has been kidnapped by her aunt, Aimy Dixon, and her aunt's boyfriend, Jesse Morrison, in Chadron, Nebraska. Mystery is Native American, as are her aunt and uncle. They told law enforcement in Nebraska that the Oglala Sioux Tribe had granted them custody of Mystery, but Nebraska law enforcement could find no basis for this, and could not verify this, so they told Dixon and Morrison to file for custody the normal way, in court. Instead of doing that, Dixon sent her ten year old son into Mystery's parents' home through a window to unlock the door and let her and Morrison inside, at which time, they took Mystery from her parents by force. All this just happened this morning. They are said to be headed to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, in a vehicle described as a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville, bronze, with Nebraska tags: 69E787.

Update: Mystery has been found safe.
About This New Restraining Order for Terri Horman
Oh joy. Kaine Horman went to court and got the restraining order against his estranged wife, Terri Horman, re-issued. Yippee. Not that Kaine does not deserve protection, and that his goofy spouse does not deserve and need notice that her disgustingness isn't needed or wanted, but shouldn't she have at least a fleeting interest in her child's life?
Even in the presence of a restraining order, Terri Horman is still probably welcome to pay child support, inquire about her daughter's medical care and health, talk to her daughter's teachers, insist upon contact with her daughter, either supervised or not, do her very best to make sure all lines of communication are open between her daughter and ALL of her daughter's siblings, and go to court in person for any proceeding that has anything to do with her daughter. Seriously, that last item, going to court personally, is probably the biggest and most definitive statement she can make at this late date, and she made an opposite statement instead. Had Terri Horman put her ego and her personal fears aside in favor of making a clear statement that she cares about Kiara Horman enough to go to court and fight for her best interests, the judge may have been inclined to rule differently.
Kyron Horman has been missing since June 4, 2010. He was last seen at his school in Portland, Oregon.

Witten Children Of Topeka Found Safe
The three missing children from Topeka, Stephanie, Seth, and Michelle Witten, were found safe while playing in a creek after having been missing for almost twenty hours. It appears that they ran away from home, as they had camping gear and clothes packed in backpacks. Their adoptive parents had left them alone, and they apparently are not happy where they are, so they ran away. The three are biological siblings, and were adopted in 2007. Perhaps they missed their real family. I saw an interview with the adoptive parents, and they did not seem terribly concerned about dangers such as child predators or kidnappers. In fact, they stated that the oldest of the children had run away at least once in the past, and seemed resigned to the routine. Perhaps someone should ask these children why they are so unhappy, and why they continue to run away. Just being a pair of white, blue-eyed, normal to slightly low IQ Christians does not mean that a couple will be ideal parents. Granted, Kansas prefers this.
Three Topeka Missing Children
Stephanie, Seth, and Michelle Witten were last seen at their home in Topeka, Kansas last night. This morning, WIBW reported that they are all missing and that they police in Topeka have shared this picture of them with the public, asking if anyone has seen them. Stephanie is thirteen years old, Seth is twelve, and Michelle is ten. Police in Topeka can be reached at 785-368-9200 and Crime Stoppers at 785-234-0007. Please call if you know anything about the whereabouts of these three children.

Resume Of A Teacher/Preacher/Lecher
Below is the resume of Hugh Cranford, Lutheran vicar and youth pastor of Topeka, Kansas, who got into some trouble last year for sexual assault of two boys in the congregation. He and his attorney are planning to be in court this week to file motions in his case. Something that is worth notice about his resume, which Hugh had publicly posted on the internet,(a lot of silly details, such as "counting change", and "ability to use multiline phones", has been deleted) is that he, like many other individuals who get charged with sexual assault of minors, took jobs at schools and daycares whenever he could, and ingratiated himself to parents at almost all times when he was not working. Noble Rick Pendland, also of Kansas, did the same thing, and got away with it for almost a decade. So did Eric Toth, who used to be on the FBI's most wanted list, until the found him in South America. Beware of teachers, preachers, or other adults who seem incredibly eager to volunteer around children and of those who ingratiate themselves to school faculties and leaders of youth groups.

Volunteer Experience
Fishy Fishy
The data recorded below represents the "work" done by the County Attorney of Marshall County, Kansas, during a typical day. All of this time was spent perusing the internet over an "obstruction of justice" case, when the Marshall County judicial system has plenty of cases that involve more serious crimes. There isn't any evidence in this case, and the attorney is fishing for some. No pun intended, McFish. It must be nice to play on the internet all day, while actual work, involving more serious matters, remains undone. This should also put to rest any rumor that the prosecutor of Marshall County is overworked. It is abundantly clear that the opposite is true.

West Virginia Bags A Disgusting Creep
Bully for law enforcement in West Virginia! A woman complained to police in Berkeley County that someone she had recently dated pestered her for indecent photos of her six year old daughter and they actually tracked him to Colorado via his cell phone records. Now he's in Eastern Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond. It should really be more, but at least it's unlawful to target children in West Virginia. That's him on the left. His name is Christopher Lee Brown. Hopefully, the folks at the jail will remember to tell the other inmates why Mr. Brown is incarcerated.

There Are No Secrets
Remember the old days, when it was always considered prudent not to write a message on paper unless it was something one wished to proclaim from the rooftops? And we were occasionally reminded that a piece of paper can last longer than the writer who wrote on it? Can anyone remember the days before national television, when print media ruled? It seems that America has a few people in power who do not remember these things. It also seems as if some of these people either never learned about Richard Nixon, and the Watergate scandal or have forgotten about it. While Watergate wiretapping was unsophisticated compared to today's sources of information and methods of harvesting the same, it is surprising that NSA did not expect anyone to find out about their disregard for the Fourth Amendment rights of all Americans.
It may be time for our President to address the nation about this, and to learn from Nixon's mistakes. The warrantless snooping and unfounded investigations of innocent citizens since 2001 have not significantly reduced the number of occurances of any type of crime, and have not assisted in finding missing persons. In view of the glaring inefficiency of civil rights violations as a form of governance, perhaps it is time to try some transparency and honesty.

Ann Bernadette Cooney Missing
Ann Bernadette Cooney is missing from St. Marys, Kansas, and has been missing since May 31. She is seventeen years old, and is considered a runaway by Pottawatomie County police. Even as a runaway, twelve days is a long time for a seventeen year old to be missing. If you see her, or know where she is, please call St. Marys Police Department at 785-437-2012.
Hopefully, she will be found before this picture needs to be updated.

Advice Concerning Police And Civil Rights
This was shared on Facebook this morning. There's a lot here, so I just shared it as a picture. I would only add a few things. If the police stop anyone, not only do you have the right to photograph and document everything you see, you also have the right to video the encounter. Quite a few police officers do not yet understand this. We have a police officer with Marshall County, Kansas who will even grab telephones, both landlines and cell phones, out of the hands of bystanders to stop children from calling parents and to stop neighbors from calling babysitters and relatives when children are left by themselves as the result of an arrest. In addition to not consenting to any warrantless search of your person or possessions, I would advise that you carry as little personal information on your person as possible. Do not carry you social security card in your wallet, but leave it in a safe place at home. You do not have to give your social security number to law enforcement; cops are not loan officers.....they do NOT need that information for anything! Just tell them you do not remember the number. Only carry one form of identification. If you have a passport, drivers' license, and other types of ID, you only need to have one in your wallet at a time. The less information had about you by law enforcement, the safer you will be. Concerning law enforcement and the rest of the current judicial community, it is best to live among them as in surrounded.

Prism, Privacy, And Edward Snowden
Your tax dollars at work, once again. Edward Snowden, who told us all about Prism, which can trace internet and cell phone signals in real time. While Snowden had a high level security clearance and all of the responsibility that goes with it, were his actions of divulging the information truly criminal, and if so, is he really guilty of treason? He did not go to any of our enemies with information about the fourth amendment rights of Americans getting violated, he came to the American people with it. Now that he has done that, he is the subject of an investigation, and his last known whereabouts were a hotel room in Hong Kong. He has since been offered asylum in Iceland.
Something that is rather disturbing is described in the video below, in an interview with Christiana Amanpour and Glenn Greenwood. Greenwood suggests that it is now no longer safe to be an investigative journalist, because if a journalist spends too much time with his source, he could also be considered culpable in some way, should the story covered concern a crime, and be charged as an accomplice! Also, an editor for the Washington Post, covering the story about Snowden, reportedly overheard security officials in a discussion at an airport stating that Snowden should "be disappeared", rather than extradited back to the United States to stand trial! So much for justice and due process. Perhaps it is easier, when possible, to just deny a person his day in court and skip due process!

As for Prism, it has always been sound advice to remember that there really are no secrets. The programs in use by NSA to store and interpret meta data stores such a large volume every day that the effort becomes counterproductive through having too much information to sort. The real invasion of privacy comes in the form of tracked computer information and cell phone data.....while one's calls are not necessarily heard, they are tracked. The trail of telephone numbers is logged, and of course, one's location, or approximate location, is also traceable. But then, there have been cameras on traffic lights for quite some time, now. Most stores have surveillance systems, decent schools have cameras, and Walmart sells cheap security cameras for homes. There really isn't much privacy to be had at this point in our history as humans. Anything that cannot be determined by studying the above mentioned methods of spying can often be divulged for free by the local Avon Lady.
Edward Snowden. A petition to pardon him for any crimes with which he may be charged is here.
