School supplies are already being pushed in Walmart. It isn't even August yet. Here in Kansas, something that never gets enough attention in public school is the civil rights issue that was won in the Supreme Court in 1963 by Madalyn Murry, concerning prayer and religion in school.....specifically...that prayer and religion legally do not belong in public school. As long as a public school is, indeed, a public school, and gets funding from the tax dollars of it's community, it cannot lawfully mention religion at all, except during classes that teach about the Inquisition, or about the nefarious influence of the Catholic Church during the last millennium, or about the pedophile priests we have running about these days. Encouraging Christianity at school is actually a federal crime, which Northeast Kansas generally ignores. Many schools will attempt to ignore the law about this in various ways, but it has been the law for fifty years to resist the urge to harass students, especially when favoring one religion over another.
I was a little like this girl, when I was a kid!

You're a kind woman, Juli, but what's your beef with northeast KS? There are a lot of awesome people here with good morals and values and hearts. But spreading this hateful propaganda is not the correct way to gain respect for yourself. If you don't like it -- leave it!
I am not necessarily trying to gain any recognition for myself, and I do not spread hateful propaganda. Before the administration of the school most local to my home decided to actively dissuade all six of my children from respect of other cultures, including their own, I had no beef with Northeast Kansas. Then, when I was arrested for testifying in favor of the defense, rather then the prosecution, (which is NOT the law....but what happened in Northeast Kansas) and continue to be the victim of lies originating from the county attorney in this particular county, and battered for no reason by a cop who is probably at least twice my size, (where I come from, human beings usually are not that big and obese)in order to send a message to me about testifying the way a prosecutor wishes rather than stating the truth. There are not too many other places this would go unchecked for as long as it has, and I do not understand why the populace voted for a woman who favors violence and bullying, like Laura McNish. Those are things I have against Northeast Kansas. As for leaving, I own a home here. Why should I leave?
As for hateful propaganda, what do you say when you hear guff about yours truly? Is it okay for a school administrator and his staff, or a county attorney, to promote lies about me, and try to ruin my reputation and encourage my children to treat me with disrespect? I did not start the propaganda war here. Also, when I publish my tracker's reports on how much time the computer in the county prosecutor's office spends on social media sites where I maintain a profile or a presence, I consider it a pubic service, not propaganda. McNish's constituent's have a right to know what she does on THEIR timeclock.
If your purpose of writing is not to gain recognition for yourself, than what is your goal? What's the purpose of this blog? If encouraging young people to grow and develop into goodhearted Christians with a healthy moral compass is a federal crime, then what do you call the libelous rubbish and slander that is this blog? This is a Christian nation and has been since 1776. Christianity is the foundation and always has been. You have no problem with mocking the Christian faith, but would consider it offensive and outrageous should someone ridicule your Pagan culture. And if you are truly that unhappy and fed up with northeast Kansas, sell your home and move elsewhere. Staying around here and blasting your miserable nonsense will not make things different for you. And I have never heard guff about you -- but I have heard about how uncomfortable you make people feel when you rattle off your sacrilegious testimonies. What makes your opinions superior than others? I respect your opinions -- this is America. You are 100% free to have them. But if you are unhappy here and are not satisfied with the way you have been treated, MOVE ON. Leave the school system. Staying here and dwelling on it will not repair the wrongs. Forgiveness will set you free. My prayers go out to you. See you soon.
Encouraging young people to either develop into Christians, or develop into goodhearted people, (do the two descriptions really go hand in hand?) is not a federal crime, unless you do it in a school, or in some other government institution. Forcing any religion on another person is a crime. When was this nation ever actually Christian? When it was legal to buy and sell other humans? When it was illegal for anyone whose complexion was darker than the norm to use the fitting rooms in a department store? (yes....it was that way when I was little!) Perhaps it was a Christian nation when child labor was okey-dokey. Somehow, I don't think this nation was ever truly engaged in any religion.....it was all a façade. Politicians gotta do SOMETHING to keep the sheeple interested in voting, and otherwise supporting them!
Many people mock Pagan culture(s), and I overlook it every day. Especially at Halloween, when the young in this town love to throw eggs at houses, children, and moving vehicles. Imagine that, wasting food in a country where some people still go hungry! And by children whose parents have taught them to have moral compasses......NOT! There; that's one of my sacreligious testimonies, right there!
I am under no obligation to move, but the school is under every obligation to completely hide all indications of any religion or preference thereof from all the children during school hours. If you don't like it, why don't you move to a country where religion is important? The school in this town will be down at least 3% of it's expected enrollment this fall, partly because of this crap that they have pulled with my children. THAT'S what should make people uncomfortable, if they must have a school in their town. If the school administration, or principal, was more interested in education children, and less interested in local politics and in being the stronger bully in personal relationships, his "enterprise", or the school, would not be losing that many dollars due to lower enrollment numbers this fall. Think about it.
I am not looking for forgiveness to set anyone free. It's gone way beyond that. Certain "personalities" overstepped legal bounderies, and I am going due process.
Why does my presence bother you so much?
