Tornado Footage

This is footage, snagged from the Marysville Advocate, of a tornado that went through Corning, Kansas at the end of May. Lists of clothing and other items needed have been passed around of Facebook and other social media websites, but the most constantly needed items in situations such as this are usually cash and blood. Not everyone can donate blood, and of those who can, only a fraction usually do. It's a big deal.

Westboro Baptist Church Chickens Out

Amazing. Oklahoma City gets an F-5 tornado, and the very best Westboro Baptist Church can do is pull out their signs and threaten to picket. Gotta love Christianity in Northeast Kansas......NOT! Fred Phelps and Company threatened to picket in Oklahoma today, insisting that "God" sent the tornado to kill people because of Jason Collins's relationship choices. They apparently did not show, frightened away by the patiently waiting bikers.

When is Northeast Kansas gonna get off it's Christian kick?

Tornado Victims In Reading Kansas

There will be a fundraiser for tornado victims in Reading, Kansas, tonight. Friday, May 27, in Topeka, at the Live Music Institute, a concert will be held, featuring live music from Live Music Institute Students, Ellie Smith & The Connection, and Chris Aytes & The Good Ambition. Doantions will be collected at the door. This is probably one of the best ways to help tornado victims.

Tornado In Joplin Missouri

Wow. What a weekend. The people in Joplin, Missouri had about twenty minutes from hearing that there was, indeed, a tornado, to actually experiencing the tornado.

I have only been in Kansas a couple of years, and I have not seen a tornado, in Kansas, up close yet.

Very sadly, I think the casualty count is up to ninety for Joplin, as I type this.

Update: it is 8:00 PM Central Time, and the casualty count is up to 116. Joplin schools have closed early, for the summer.
