Cheerios Commercial
A cute family, featuring parents representing two different races, was portrayed in a Cheerios commercial. A bunch of backwards rude people made insensitive comments online about it. Cheerios stood behind the commercial, anyway. That's an even better statement then the original advertisement about the Cheerios.
It's 2013, and we have a president whose parents represent different cultures. Here's wishing that the less socialized among us would kindly grow up, and get over their racism.

Fundy Christians Still Ride High Horse
An advertisement for Dr. Pepper has got fundamentalist Christians crying the blues again. Some of them are very, very upset because the picture depicts evolution. Fundies believe that a white man with a white beard and a white robe created the whole, wide world, and every life form on it, in seven twentyfour hours periods, while perched upon a cloud! Because they think this, they are whining that they do not want to drink Dr. Pepper anymore. Here's the picture that made them cry:
And here is how I fixed it for them:
In the words of a beloved High Priestess of mine: "How I long for the days when we simply tossed them into the coliseum with the lions!"

An Advertisement I Actually Like
Normally, I hate campaign advertisements and ignore them. Especially the ones that end with, "I'm so and so, and I approve this message." This one is an exception, though. It was put together very well, and says exactly what I tell people concerning my not-so-positive views of the Republican Party. While this clip is very positive, I still find myself amazed that the Republican Party is comprised of people who are too arrogant to find a truly viable candidate who can run for office because he or she actually possesses the skills for the job, rather than fostering the goal of making Obama a one term president. It also amazes me that there are so many Americans who will just listen to worn out, ethnocentric, irrational and racist rhetoric, and that the Republican Party can actually employ this rhetoric!
