Terri Horman And Cold Cases And Lies

So very interesting. Forty years after one of the most heinous crimes committed in Maryland, that of the kidnap and murder of Sheila and Katherine Lyon, ten and twelve year old Montgomery County girls, a man named Lloyd Lee Welch is charged with two counts of murder. This involves two states; Maryland and Virginia. After much evidence gathering and testimony from witnesses and potential witnesses, one man, so far, has been charged in this case. There is even a multi-state grand jury meeting at least once a month to go over evidence. Many Marylanders, who remember this case from 1975, doubted that it would ever be resolved.

What does this have to do with Terri Horman and her gang of merry scofflaws? She is the sometime step parent of another missing child, Kyron Horman. Kyron was seven years old when he was last seen leaving his school in Portland, Oregon with Terri Horman in June of 2010. This happened just as school commenced for the day, around 9:00 AM, and no one, least of all, Terri, reported him missing until after 3:00 PM. Days have stretched into weeks and months, which, in turn, have stretched into years...five years. There is also a grand jury that convenes for Kyron every once in a while, to review any new tips and go over existing evidence.

Terri Horman, her parents, and her friends and other et els do not appear to take the search and investigation for Kyron Horman very seriously. A few of them have been subpoenaed to appear before the grand jury to answer questions about the case. Rather than assist in the investigation, they stall and assert fifth amendment rights, claiming that they will incriminate themselves if they answer simple questions about the day Kyron disappeared. A certain amount of misinformation has been deliberately generated by this crowd, too.

The case of the Lyon sisters, mentioned above, also involves people who covered for each other, over the years, and lied to the grand jury when it convened. A major difference, however; is that forty years went by prior to the culmination of the investigation and the charging of the individual thought to be primarily responsible for the disappearance and subsequent deaths of those two girls. Yet the truth is just as esteemed by investigators and the rest of the population as it was forty years ago; but this came as a surprise to those asked for the truth. They thought that because so many years had passed, no one would care about Sheila and Katherine Lyon anymore. They also thought that the passage of time somehow erased the need for accountability. So they went to court, when summoned by the grand jury, and lied their asses off. In December of last year, Patricia Welch was arrested after one such lie, and is due in court in October. Last week, her brother, Leslie Engleking, her grandchild, Amy Welch Johnson, and her husband's sister, Gladys Stangee, were also arrested for lying and attempting to hide the truth. Amy Welch Johnson was not even born in 1975, when the crime occurred, so the reader should be able to grasp the importance of the truth, here, during a criminal investigation. What does all this have to do with Terri Horman and her gang of merry scofflaws? They should study this case carefully, and take note of the precedent set by a multi-state grand jury of holding anyone who obstructs justice accountable. Because the Lyon sisters' case involves two different states, the precedent set reaches the federal level, and can be used in Oregon, as well. Virginia is now trying a criminal case for obstruction of justice against a person who was not even born when the crime under investigation was committed. This should send a very clear message to those who would cover for Terri Horman: the truth is important enough to lock up a liar, even after forty years. The truth is even important enough to lock up someone who wasn't yet born at the time of the crime, but knows about it, nonetheless. Are you paying attention, Terri Horman?

To A Witness In A Cold Case

When I saw this poem by John Trudell, I thought about you. I hadn't seen or heard from you in years, and wondered what you were doing. Imagine my shock when I found you left of center field of a cold case that has broken many hearts over the years. You must be the strongest, bravest witness there is, because many people would have broken under the strain. Don't let anyone threaten you; don't let anyone push you around. I know you, and I know you bring the truth.

Terri Horman Hates Trespassers

Terri Horman, former step parent of missing Kyron Horman, the second grader who disappeared from his school in Portland, Oregon, in June of 2010, hates it when people trespass, make threats, and use Facebook and other internet sites for stalking and passing threats to other parties. (Okay; I did not really say that with a straight face. Please try not to fall backwards out of your chair, laughing) The eye-rolley won't do here, we would need an emoticon that expresses laughing so hard one's face freezes into a permanent grin coupled with coffee all over one's keyboard!

In addition to giving the police half a dozen different stories about what happened on the morning that Kyron disappeared, Terri Horman lied during two polygraphs, and has been conspicuously absent during every search and vigil for Kyron. Until several days ago, she and her parents, with whom she resides, have never even bothered to put up a poster with Kyron's picture and contact information of law enforcement on their property. They did, however; post a "no trespassing" sign on a tree near their home some time during late November, after a vigil was held in Roseburg, and Kyron's name was written in the street in sidewalk chalk in front of their home. Last week, a picture of Kyron was added, and pictures of three other individuals, completely unconnected to the case, have also been posted.

The local media followed the case, and did several stories on the pictures in front of the Moulton/Horman home. The upshot of the confusing pictures is this: those women whose pictures are posted outside of Terri's parents' house are Facebook users who have joined the Roseburg Supports Kyron Horman page. They wanted to see if Kyron had been found, and keep up with developments in the case. This has been interpreted by Terri Horman and her parents, Carol and Larry Moulton, as a "threat", and pictures of the women whose nefarious deed of clicking "like" on a Facebook page dedicated to finding a missing child is plastered outside, in front of their house.

Trespassing in the real world is handled by local courts. Had anyone actually trespassed on the Moultons' property, law enforcement could have served them with an order to stop trespassing. This would enable an arrest in the event that the individual named on the order actually trespassed on a future date. It's quite likely that Terri Horman and her parents actually complained to police because their neighbors joined a Facebook page they didn't like, and quite likely that they tried to convince the local court to serve formal "no trespass" orders for that reason. In such an instance, the court would naturally decline, because, as earlier stated, this is the real world, not the Moultons' fantasy-land. After finding out that Oregon does not have a Facebook Police Unit, the Moultons, rather than simply sending letters to the social media users they do not personally like, put pictures of them in front of their house. Now I need an eye-rolley.

Michael Saffioti Dies Of Food Allergies In Jail

Only twenty-three years old. Michael Saffioti had just turned himself in because he had to serve time for possession of Marijuana. He had food allergies, particularly to dairy products. Does it look like any employees at the jail had the slightest concern? Not to me. He ate some oatmeal that he was told had no dairy products. His poor mom had to bury him because of that. Over a prohibition law. Was it worth it, conservative creeps? Was it worth it?

I am allergic to oats, and other foods as well, and I am surprised Saffioti lived as long as two hours after eating them. Food allergies can kill quickly.

Marshall County Kansas can actually go Snohomish County Washington one better on this. The county prosecutor, Laura McNish, will actually have witnesses arrested when their perspectives and testimonies favor the defense, rather than the prosecution, (her new policy, I've been told, after she tried to intimidate yours truly into lying for her in court as a witness) and if they have food allergies, celiac disease, or other  health problems, she will actually order that doctor's orders NOT be followed until the witness she has arrested agrees to alter his or her testimony to fit the needs of the prosecution. If a witness cannot still be in jail during a court proceeding, he or she has a strong chance of being in the emergency room or the morgue; not in court, revealing the truth. This is nothing short of attempted murder.

Kyron Horman's Mom Drops Lawsuit

Desiree Young, mother of Kyron Horman, has dropped her lawsuit against Terri Horman, sometime stepmother of same. Kyron, now ten years old, has been missing since June 4, 2010, when he disappeared from his school in Portland Oregon. Young's lawyer, Eldon Rosenthal, stated that in order to proceed with the case against Terri Horman, his office would need access to evidence from the open criminal investigation. Also, it has been rumored that a formerly uncooperative witness is now cooperating. While reporters are speculating that this witness is DeDe Spicher, friend of Terri Horman, there are enough loose ends and possible accessories after the fact, in this case, for the unnamed witness to be anyone connected to Kyron's family, Kyron's school, or to Kyron. Because another lawsuit can be filed later, after the investigation is closed, it would be in everyone's best interest for Kyron to be returned to his family unharmed.

Police Brutality

The District Attorney had a script for me. I rejected it, in favor of the Truth.

Private Message

To a young lady whose extended-former-step-family has been grim and intimidating..... if you are legit, I think I know where you are coming from. No; it certainly isn't easy to be a good person surrounded by bad people, or people who want to cover for (I think the technical term is "enable") bad people. It's a terrible, frightening, heartbreaking, and lonely position. Not many people understand, either, because of the middle class, materialistic koolaide that so many people have been drinking for so many generations. This notion that you "owe" your siblings, cousins, or other relations the "loyalty" of looking the other way when they commit minor crimes is what I'm talking about.  Then, you "owe" them the loyalty of allowing them to get away with more serious crimes, too. Then, you suddenly grow up and realize that people other than the perpetrators have been hurt. Next, you even realize that children have been compromised, hurt, or killed by these people who want you to keep the family secrets.

You wake up one morning, realizing that your life cannot operate the same way as the lives of the dysfunctional members of your immediate and extended family members. You wish you didn't have to see them anymore, and you don't want them to hug or touch you. The fact that you share a surname in common with some of them is an embarrassment to you. You cringe whenever you see a policeman near your door, because you wonder about whom you are going to get supeanoed to witness in court against this time. You are beyond tired of it. And speaking of witnessing in court, everyone from your parents to the person who's in trouble this time is practically threatening you.....you had better keep your mouth shut......

Suppose, this time, it involves murder or human trafficking? Yes; it's possible for a dysfunctional family to be deluded enough to demand that everyone sweep those crimes under the carpet, as well. But do they really care about you? Do they care if you can never get a security clearence for a job you have always wanted, because you are covering for them? Do they care if no one nice will ever want to date you, because you are involved with them? Do they care if you end up going to jail for contempt of court, because you were loyal to them, and not to your conscience? Do they care if your children, or your childrens' safety, is compromised, because of their dangerous lifestyles and associations? Do they even give a rip about the healthy relationships and pursuits that you may wish to enjoy, over the course of your life, that will not happen, but for your involvement with them? In my experience, and sadly, I have had some; the answer is "no". They don't care.

I first noticed your online presence last week. I was skeptical, thinking you might be another troll, throwing in your two cents. I looked at your comments, and at the situation you discussed with a friend of mine, and decided that you may very well be for real. If that's the case, you have some serious choices to make, not only for a very young crime victim and a young adult bystander, but for yourself. I just want to encourage you not to let a bully scare you. If you discreetly do the right thing, and talk to the right people, and the situation at hand gets resolved, many people will be very grateful to you. No; things will never be the same between you and certain individuals close to this case, but then.....are things terribly positive and enjoyable for you as they sit? It's an awful choice to have to make, and I don't envy you, but I will support you and help you in any way I can if you need it after you have made the productive, positive choices I know you would love to make. No; things will never be the same, yet that is part of a great blessing that you can one day appreciate. And yes, life will go on. I promise.
