Naked People In Wichita

How did I miss this? A man and a woman in Wichita, Kansas, both twenty-two years old, got into an argument with each other and somehow ended up outside naked, yelling at each other. They also found a way to mess up a mobile home while fighting with each other, as this happened in a mobile home park. So police came and arrested both of them.

While all this sounds quite exciting, this blogger usually does not fight while naked, but does other things while naked, instead! That said, it all sounds very entertaining. How come no one ever goes outside naked and fights when I'm around to see it?

How Come I Miss All The good Stuff?

I never get to see the naked people when they get apprehended by law enforcement, I'm never around when anyone streaks, the People of Walmart are always clothed whenever I shop there, and I've never been on hand at Kohl's to watch someone bare from the waist up chase a peeping tom with a cell phone after catching him taking pictures of her from under the fitting room door. Most of my shopping trips are boring.

Judging from this guy's booking photo, if that is, indeed, his booking photo, he really isn't very sorry for what he did. Rather than entertaining him further by giving chase, the victim should have just stomped on the cell phone. If anyone threatened to charge her with destruction of property, she could have claimed it was an accident, and asked why a man's cell phone was in the womens' fitting rooms. Any pictures he took would still be in the hard drive of the camera, and in order to prove it was broken, he would have to allow law enforcement or a technician to examine the cell phone. Then, the answer to how it got into the fitting room would be very clear. But seriously, how come I'm never around to see this kind of stuff when it happens?

In other news, there was a man stealing outdoor holiday decorations from lawns and porches in Topeka this morning. According to eyewitnesses, he was dressed in pink leopard pajamas. This type of confusion and poor taste in fashion presents law enforcement and homeowners with a very difficult choice: does one shoot such a poorly dressed thief with a taser, an automatic weapon, or a camera? Does one refer to the "stand your ground" claus of the law, or does one insist that the perpetrator go home and change? Perhaps this is a matter for the Fashion Police. If he gets caught, he may get to wear orange, instead, for awhile.

It's Legal To Walk Around Naked In Topeka

That's right; you did not misread the title. There is no law in Topeka Kansas against public nudity, as long as one does not disrobe in the vicinity of a school. A guy was discovered naked in Topeka a couple of days ago, and while he is in a psych ward now, he will not be arrested.

The police thought the naked guy might be on drugs. Perhaps. According to Chuck Haggard, of the Topeka Police, "“Running around naked is a very common thing to occur for people who are in a drug-induced excited delirium,” he said. “We have way more naked people than you have any idea.”
That's interesting, but yours truly would like to know where all the naked people are when she visits Topeka, and why she misses all the cool and apparently legal stuff!

Chuck Haggard further states that "The man, whose identity wasn’t released, was said to be in stable condition as of 8 p.m. Wednesday." What remains unclear is if the man was clothed as of 8 PM Wednesday.

Naked People Who Get Arrested

What's up with all the naked people who have been arrested lately? In California, someone named Jose Ayala walked into a Sacramento welding shop to ask for a job. Apparently, he did not have anything he considered appropriate to wear for job-hunting, so he completely did away with clothing for the occasion. He got arrested and did not get hired. Jason Wayne Strickland, of Arkansas, was arrested, naked, several months ago for taking his clothes off, dousing himself with gasoline, and threatening to burn his mother's house down. Yesterday, in California, someone else was arrested for stealing some assorted odds and ends from a church.....he was clad in a tutu! While fleeing and eluding, his tutu got caught on a chain link fence, and he was naked when he got arrested. But the headline stated that a "man in a tutu" had been arrested....and CNN only ran a picture of a lousy police car with that story! Dammit; aren't they aware that we need pictures with these headlines?

There's also the infamous Verdon Lamont Taylor, of Pennsylvania, who got arrested in February at a Walmart for being naked and stealing socks. At least CNN and the local news gave us the video. No one's ever naked when I'm at Walmart, though. And here's another one, Matthew James Ibarria, of Florida, was just arrested after driving his van naked. He was wanted for domestic violence and attempted to run over several officers while driving his van....naked. At least Clickorlando had the decency to run a picture with their naked man headline!

Has it really been warm enough to get arrested naked this winter?
