A'Kiera Burrell is missing from Kansas City, Missouri. She was in the custody of the state of Missouri, and her mother and the police were not immediately told she was missing because of the Thanksgiving holiday. Because A'Kiera does not currently live at home, the police initially refused to work with her mother in order to take a missing persons report about A'Kiera. No one working in the court system felt moved to report her disappearance, either. When all was said and done, it was five days before she was officially reported missing. At this writing, it has been twelve days since A'Kiera disappeared. There has been no activity on A'Kiera's Facebook since November 26, which, in the case of a fourteen year old girl, is scary in and of itself. Please keep an eye and an ear open for her, or for any news of her whereabouts, and share this information.

I would like to know, too, but the media does not seem to be covering it. I called the reporter who broke the story, and he really didn't know why the facility won't turn over it's surveillance footage. She has been missing way too long for her Facebook page to contain no new activity. I wish the media would prioritize her case. If you hear anything, would you please send me another comment?
