Noble Rick Pendland In Court Today

Noble Rick Pendland, Kansas teacher, counselor, and foster parent, is finally in court today for his preliminary hearing. Hopefully, he will not get out on bond, and force Kansas to look for his unsightly posterior parts again. That might be harder than Pendland initally thought, anyway, since yet another victim has filed in court against Mr. Pendland; this time concerning Pendland's parenting skills. This new victim was a foster child of Noble Rock Pendland.

Where does Kansas find these people? Why does Kansas think children are better off in the homes of unqualified babysitters than with their own parents? Now that some of the foster children who survive are aging out of care, what will Kansas do about the lawsuits they will most likely win because of the abuse they incurred while children in foster care? If the cases against Noble Rick Pendland are any indication of a trend, it looks like time will tell. Maybe the division of Social Rehabilitative Services in Kansas that manages foster care placements for children should be in receivership.

Suppose you were a foster child in Kansas. How would you feel about this monster having a state granted right to sexual relations with you, any time he pleased?

There was great coverage of the preliminary hearing by reporter Shane Farley, as posted on the Newscow site. Some of the testimony presented at the hearing has me sick to my stomach. I feel terrible for the victims, who are all young boys in early teens.

I saw that. What I don't understand, is, why aren't all the news outlets in Kansas picking up this story? It's a huge story! This Kansas-Government-endorsed creep could get sentenced to 25 years for the first case with no time off for good beahvior or early parole, under Jessica's Law. The whole idea thAT Kansas had a Jessica's Law type of monster working for them, and took kids away from parents for neglect, or because the parents had no money for legal fees and could not fight, and placed their children with a monster who raped them is huge! Why isn't eveyone talking about it? Why isn't SRS in receivership? How much more of it goes on?

Lots of school parents are talking about it! Most everyone in Cowley County, Kansas is very upset that Pendland was hired to teach.

That is good to know and I am happy to hear it. The problem is, a foster child can come from any part of the state, and once that child is cut off from his family, there really isn't anyone who is going to care about him anymore. A lot of counties in Kansas are getting rid of the CASA volunteer programs, which gives a child even less of a chance of being heard, in the event that his foster parents want to have sex relations with him. In the part of Kansas where I live, no one is talking about it. No one wants to do anything but tell me how wonderful Kansas and Jesus are, how terrible I am for not coming from a family that was Christian, and how President Obama is the antichrist. If crappy teachers are getting hired anywhere in Kansas and no one cares, you can bet it's not isolated to just one part of the state. Thankyou for telling me what the reaction in Cowley County is.

You just reminded me of a great person of Cowley County, Kansas--Glenn Clarkson passed away this Spring; he was on the CASA Board and served the community faithfully as a CASA volunteer, active church member, and school administrator. THEY DON'T MAKE THEM LIKE THAT ANYMORE, sorry to say. He was a diligent supporter of children, model family man, prudent school administrator; he practiced religious tolerance, and was accepting of all the different types of people in the County. Moreover, he was a superb human-being. NOBLE RICK PENDLAND would NEVER have been hired under Mr. Clarkson, or would any other "crappy teachers" as is the unfortunate case. Long gone are the days when a caring and wise administrator would rise through the ranks of a school system to be the steward of our children's well-being and safety. Rest in Peace, Mr. Clarkson.

Would the current population allow someone like Glenn Clarkson to do his job the way he sees fit? If "they" start making them like that again, we need an entire population to start reacting to morals and conscious, rather than accepting authorities who like people like Noble Rick Pendland.

Hi Juli ~ this thread is just going on, isn't it? You are spot-on with your question.....hmmmm, will the sheeples pay attention, turn into Ostriches, and/or let the person do his/her job? I think many (hopefully not "most!") people will not catch on or pay attention to the most important qualities or issues, and will get distracted by other factors. In other words, someone with the right "image" and concocted resume, & who passes the skype interview will somehow emerge as the the new "boss." People will accept a "new" authority easily, and will be fooled by whatever "spin" is put on a news release. There will be more Nobles, and more people who just "don't get it," unless it's too late. There aren't enough of "us." Okay, I'll try to attach to a newer thread!

No, it seems there are never enough of "us". And I long for the days when "question authority" meant something more along the lines of wearing mini skirts to school, or conscienciously objecting to the draft......I hate having to question authority in order to keep perverted Kansas teachers away from my kids, and being told that I am not a good parent because I want my children to be safe while they are at school! Questioning authority was never supposed to be about that.

Are new teachers really interviewed via Skype?

Okay, Juli, you asked a question, so I have to keep the thread going just a bit more.... the answer is-- "sort of..." school districts are using Skype interviewing for out-of-state administrative and teaching candidates, and I personally know of a few cases of in-state skype interviews when the candidate was applying for a job several hours away (Western Kansas). Because school districts, and many other employers will not pay for travel costs, moving costs, etc., candidates have some benefits from the opportunities that skype interviewing offers. One particular person I am well-acquainted with, interviewed for a teaching job this way, and both parties were happy with the arrangement. This person had very tight personal finances from having put himself through college, and the school district was a smaller one with limited resources. The candidate ended up driving out to the town after the district expressed interest in hiring, so the skype just helped move things along. In other cases, skype has been used for a candidate who was under contract out-of-state. To the best of my knowledge, hiring and interviewing with skype is done in a limited fashion, and because face-to-face, in-person interviews would be costly in time and money to either an employer or a candidate. The worst case scenario would be when a far-away candidate could get an interview or a job offer based on a fluffy resume, fake identity, or false credentials. I have mixed emotions about the issue of skype interviews for teachers; viable, deserving candidates can benefit while we are in this very tight job market--yet it seems like the perfect conditions for letting another monster into our children's lives. Thanks for asking.

Please does anyone know the outcome of this case or is its still in court.

I guess the only thing to do, since I cannot find anything about this case online or in the newpapers, is to call the courthouse or call the reporters who initially wrote about this. I will do that today, if I get a chance.
