Satan Claws Is Coming To Town

Well, well, well. The good Christians of Lansing, Michigan are in a snit over religious freedom. That's right; their nativity was forced to move over and make room for the Michigan chapter of the Satanic Temple to put up a holiday display, as well. The Satanists focused on the gift of knowledge, and on it's importance to mankind.

Christians appear oblivious to the actual origins of most of their "holy" days. In fact, all Christian holidays are leftovers from bygone eras when the Catholic Church, in an ongoing effort to collect tax dollars from the entire world, used the church to control entire populations. Instead of taking the winter holiday away from everyone, an interesting accusation in and of itself, the church just renamed all of it's holidays, putting the face of a European Jesus on all of the Gods whose holy days had previously been celebrated at those times by Pagans. Christmas is a conglomeration of Winter Solstice, Saturnalia, and Yule. If there ever actually was a Jesus Christ, he certainly was not conveniently born on the same day as the Sun God!

If the Christians had not wanted the Satanists to "take Christmas away", (was it ever really theirs in the first place?) they could have honored the law and kept their religious icons at home. Since the government is not allowed, by law, to favor one religion over another, it has to allow every religion equal space if it allows one religion any space. So now, we are taking back Winter Solstice. We have a beautiful display done by an artist of the Satanic Temple on display this week in Lansing, Michigan. It looks like a win for the Constitution of the United States. Just remember to keep Sol in Winter Solstice.

Jack Wu, Republican Candidate For Board Of Education

The lyrics above are from "Are You Really Dr. Wu", by Steely Dan. The picture to the left is of Jack P. Wu, Republican candidate in Topeka, Kansas, for the Board of Education. This really has me laughing almost too hard. Most Kansas Republicans are quite funny, when they are not being really stupid or downright crazy, (see Brownback's twittergate moment or Mike O'Neal's emails about Mrs. Obama for more information) but Jack Wu is almost in a league by himself. Kansas has been battling it out over teaching creation as scientific fact rather than evolution as scientific theory for eons now, but Wu is running on the platform that Kansas schools should not teach anything about evolution at all. And here's his resume. It looks rather empty. But here is something that is very interesting about Jack Wu....he attends Westboro Baptist Church! And here's what he had to say about what public high schools teach about evolution: Wu’s mission in running for office is to “make a difference in this evil city of Topeka and this perverse state of Kansas. Students don’t need Satanic lies like evolution filling their heads".  If elected to office, Jack would like to "purge such lies from the curriculum.” Whoa! Satanic lies? And you'll purge them from the curriculum? Really, Jack? What on earth have you been smoking?

I don't know which makes me laugh harder, the Westboro Baptist Church referral, or "Satanic lies" idea, but I do not think he's going to win. I do think that the perfect campaign slogan for Jack Wu to use in this election, and in all of his other political races for public office is the quote from the above cited Steely Dan song, though; "On the other side of no tommorrow"; because that is obviously where Jack Wu spends most of his time!

More Siri Searches

Ever since the inception of "Siri", the app, of which no one seems able to get enough, I have had some remarkable searches to this site! Not too long ago, I posted http://siriunsun.blogspot.com/2011/10/siri-automated-smart-alec.html, about some of the things for which folks search, connected to "Siri". Looking through this past week's searches, things have gotton decidedly more weird. "Siri porn" has always been a big search item, and I do not expect that to change, although I would be encouraged to see "Siri honesty", "Siri sincerity", "Siri health", or "Siri compatability" in conjunction to romantic relationships. Perhaps mankind, as a people, has simply not progressed that far. While I guess I cannot expect too, too much of the human race, I had hoped that, despite the obvious preoccupation with seaches for porn, mankind had progressed beyond the delusional and paranoid thinking that seems to go hand in hand with religion-instigated superstition. Hopefully, these searches were only inspired by Halloween. "Siri Satan", "Siri mind control", (no kidding, everyone!) "Siri 666", "Siri voice of Satan", and "Siri demonic"! This is just freaky.

I still get the regular gamut of run-of-the-mill searches, yet, for some reason; more animal searches. "Siri foster pets", "Siri pet adoptions", "Siri cat", "Siri puppy" and then, another one that may have been the result of Halloween........................."Siri familiar"!

This, folks, is Samantha, Siri's beloved familiar! I couldn't ask for a better friend. She moved in with us several years ago, on Halloween night. We didn't know whose cat she was, and she kept coming back to our house, and knocking on the door every night. We would open the door, expecting to find a person, but there she'd be, her feline, regal Self! Because Samantha is a form of the Celtic "Samhain", another word for "Halloween", and that is the night she took possession of our house, I began calling her "Samantha". She's the only cat I have who actually responds when I say her name. As for "Siri demonic"; I do not have any pictures of anything like that to share!
