Jessica Alquist; Evil Little Thing

Is there no end to Christian insanity? A young lady in Providence, Rhode Island, filed suit to have a religious prayer to an offensive diety removed from the hallway of her school, Cranston High. She won. But instead of taking the ugly thing down, and following the law, which clearly allows no favortism or preference for ANY religion, the whole town is harassing this child. A local representative even called her an "evil little thing" on public radio! Amazing....no such admonission for teenagers who act violently or sell drugs, just horrid focus on upsetting a child who lawfully did the right thing.

Why have Christians sunk their teeth and fingernails into the notion that everyone must believe outdated crap surrounding an ideal that has been shown to be false? Christians rationalized slavery, they rationalized sexism, they have sponsored one violent event in history after another, and they sweep the unlawful acts of many a Catholic priest under the rug. Lets also not forget Warren Jeffs, a child loving Mormon who is currently in prison because of his great love for children, and David Koresh, who died in Waco Texas, pushing Seventh Day Adventist Christian nonsense on the unfortunates who listened to him and got pulled into his orbit. Haven't the rest of us had enough??!! Why is no one concerned about the laws? Here's a picture of the alleged "evil little thing", and also a picture of a symbol of something that looks innocent enough, but truly has propagated more evil than one person could ever write about, since it's inception.

Any true interest in living that prayer would naturally preclude all of the bullying, harassing conduct of those who disagree with the court's ruling that the prayer must be removed. Anyone who truly believed in a "heavenly father" would certianly not want to create problems in the life of a sixteen year old child. Here is a quote form the above linked article, from The Daily Mail, Another sent her a message saying: 'How does it feel to be the most hated person in RI? You're a puke and a disgrace to the human race.'
That certainly does not make me feel much like going to church.

If this person does not like the prayer on the wall of the school, she does not have to read it. Why should the majority that like the prayer have to give into the person who does not. I remember when I went to school many years ago, that Jehovah Witnesses did not salute the flag and they opted out of the class. There is nothing in that prayer that should offend anyone, it only talks about good things. There really is not separation of Church and State in the first place and was never in the constitution. This has always been misunderstood. I believe this should go to the Supreme Court. This is one reason, we should vote for Newt Gingrich, for he wants God put back into our Government. I also do not agree with violence as far as threating this girl, but if it was me, I would try to reason with her with love and kindness. May God help our Nation for if Christians do not take strong stands against Athiestism, what will happen next?

Atheism is pretty darn strong, as it represents fact much more strongly than Christianity does. If you are serious about Newt Gingrich, it may be a good idea for him to put morals into his life, rather than into the government. He seems to support the right to sexually express himself at any given time much less discrettly than our forefathers intended or would even have found polite. (it's been my experience that no Christian "family man" or politician of any strip wants these things out in the open, where they can be reported and discussed")

Here's a little something from the First Amendment: "Amendment provides that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." So you see.....it really IS in the Constitution. When a public school dips into the scriptures of one religion for interior design or decor of a public building, that respects the establishment of a religion and gets dangrously close to favoring one religion over another. And it's unlawful. As for the Supreme Court, they can go there if they wish.....they've already been to the Supreme Court in Rhode Island. They will only get told the same thing, and probably encounter more scrutiny as a result. Especially now that the Christian population of Rhode Island has shared it's grim faith with this poor young lady by threatening her.

If I, or any other person who is too smart to be a Christian, (most Christians are average or below average in intelligence.....the truly brilliant Christain is rare, because the more educated and knowledgeable one becomes, the less reliable one finds the bible) does not want to be reminded of a violent and repugnant group of religious thugs while using the a government building in THIS country, it is a guarenteed first amendment and fourth amendment right.

No, I did not say I was smarter because I am an athiest. I merely stated that most people who are extreemly intelligent are not Christians. It's not pure idiocy, it's actually statistics. No hatred involved. If I choose to disregard the notion of my ancestors that the earth is resting on the shoulders of Atlas, why should I not reject the immaculate conception and the burning bush? And why would I get off the internet?

WOW I dont know where I've been I just found out about this event I was reading the prayer and like the other person saids it did not said nothing bad the irony of this generation is that we are calling good things bad and bad things good no wonder we are the way we are going down hill by the minute children killing their parents, parents raping their own children, child molester rates increasing and because this banner offended just because it mentions heavenly father how sad I feel sorry for this generation of my children. Is true about you said that people who have more knowledge deny GOD the bible saids that too much book kills the spirit because we think we know everything I went through cause am studying to become psychologist but I thanked GOD I did not close my ears and eyes to see and hear and feel his amazing LOVE is not that I hear his voice but I read it so I feel his love for me and human beings something that too much knowledge kills it like the old saying goes too much of everything is not good anyways I hope this generation is not like the one from NOAH he spend many years telling his people to repent and about the flood but no one listen we are leaving those days too sad bad true I strongly dont agree with what people are doing threatening her thats not the way to do things we are civilize so we can better than that as Christians we are not allow to do such thing I just feel sorry for her and all of those that deny GODS existence have nice life and hope ur right about your believes

Prove me there is no life after death you base your believes about everything being prove so prove me there is no life after death if you have prove on that I give you credit but until now I will pray for this generation to be fearful of what they do and to honor GOD

You are studying to become a psychologist? Do everyone a favor and study to become a writer of at least a sixth grader's skill first. I had a lot of trouble reading you because of your sentence structure and your lack of puntuation.

The world, since man has been part of it, (much, much longer than christianity has been part of it) has actually had much greater rates of violence per capita at a couple of other times in history than it does today. In fact, it didn't used to be a crime, or a serious crime, to kill a newborn. And that was among Christians! Think about the infant mortality rates among all peoples up until the late 20th century! Also, consider that while Nixon was president, it was a COMMONLY HELD BELIEF that it was OKAY to abort a healthy pregnancy if the baby was of MIXED RACE. People are no moer or less evil than they ever were. It's all an illusion, fueled, in part, by overpopulation and lots of media.

This really wasn't about proving anyone's belief's or lack thereof. It was about forcing everyone to conform while attempting to study. It's annoying. Try being Jewish during Winter Solstice week at school. Yes, I said Winter Solstice, not Christmas....because that's what really gets celebrated. If this young lady wanted to learn a bunch of stuff about religion, she would move on to seminary after graduation. Also, no government institution has the right to interfere with whatever a PARENT is teaching his or her children. I desperately wanted to be like my Catholic and Protestant xian neighbors as a kid, but my family was not either, or even xian. I had to be who I am, not who I am not. As an adult, I can look back on it and see how right my Dad was about it all.

School is for reading, writing, and 'rithmatic. It's not for silly-assed superstitions.

Well I certainly think the Atheist is smarter! At least he dosn't believe in the redicules notion of creationism, toothfairies, & santa clause! Want to argue with an adult? Go for it!
