There has been a very sad break in the case of Mickey Shunick, the young woman who disappeared in Lafayette Parish, La. on May 19. A man by the name of Brandon Scott Lavergne has been
arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping and first degree murder. He is the owner is a white Chevy Silverado pickup truck which was in the area where Mickey was last seen alive. His photo is on the left. Below, is his arrest warrent. More information should follow tommorrow. I was hoping for different news about Mickey Shunick.

Please keep her family in your prayers... this will not be easy for them regardless of the outcome, which, I am sad to say, we may already know.
I certainly hope everyone does that. There are not a whole lot of things our that there that tear at one's heart worse than having a sibling die at a young age.
This is especially scary since the murderer looks like the guy next door. It all comes down to trust noone!
Even if she had time to check the sex offender registry,it was already too late. She was randomly chosen, they were not previously known to each other, and according to police, he was looking for someone vulnerable to victimize. Maybe one day we will wake up about violent offenders and start trusting them no further than we can throw them.
99.9999% of murderers and sex offenders do not look like the sick, scary freak down the street. I think that is how so many of them are able to gain access to their victims
