D'Andre Lane Found Guilty In Bianca Jones Murder

Bianca Jones, the toddler who disappeared in Detroit shortly before Christmas last year, is still missing, but her father, D'Andre Lane, was found guilty yesterday in her murder. I wish I could hug the grandmother in the video. This is so sad.

What's almost completely unbelievable is that D'Andre Lane actually wore an orange shirt to court.....the same shade of orange as jumpsuits worn in prison! He may as well have worn a sign reading "I did it. Find me guilty, already!"

 

Terri Horman should take note of this case. D'Andre Lane was charged, tried, and convicted despite the failure to find Bianca.

 

Preliminary Hearing For D'Andre Lane

 D'Andre Lane, father of missing, and presumed dead, Bianca Jones, was in court yesterday for his preliminary hearing. He has been charged with murder, and there was some very strong and compelling testimony from Bianca's eight year old half sister, explaining that Bianca was hidden under a blanket and did not move. What a sad reality for that little girl. If her father would just come forward and tell the truth, she would be able to grieve without having to testify in court against her father. Isn't it enough that she has lost Bianca?

D'Andre Lane Is Charged With Murder Of Bianca Jones

Surprise, surprise. Bianca Jones's father has been charged with the murder of his daughter, Bianca Jones. She disappeared in early December of 2011, and he reported a carjacking to explain why she went missing on his watch. He had another child, a fifteen year old, in the car with him during the road trip that culminated in the alleged carjacking, and his vehicle was found a few minutes later, (possibly where he parked it?) with Bianca's car seat but without Bianca. All this happened in Detroit, which is kind of a busy spot.....not the type of place one can carjack, pretend to get carjacked, or pretend to babysit, without the notice of other people; or, in legal parlance, eyewitnesses. The prosecuting attorney, Kym Worthy, followed up with all of the eyewitness accounts to events that happened on the morning Bianca was last seen, the best of whom were probably the cadaver dogs who picked up Bianca's scent in her car seat and in her father's home. She looked at all of D'Andre's conflicting statements, and she may have even looked at impromptu pictures garnered from traffic light camaras. And BRAVO, Ms. Worthy! D'Andre Lane is being held accountable for his daughter's disappearance.

Hopefully, this will set a new precedent, and speak to anyone else who would attempt to pull a "Casey Anthony" upon tiring of parenting responsibilities. Our culture needs updated mores concerning to safety of all of our children.

Why Is No One Looking for Bianca Jones?

On January 18, a new show, hosted by S. Epatha Merkerson, former Law and Order star, premiered. This show deals with the subject of alerting the American public when the subject of a missing persons report is Black. It is good to see TV One hosting "Find Our Missing". The reality of missing persons involves victims from all races and walks of life, yet, somehow; it seems that the cases the networks push the hardest involve white victims who look like Norman Rockwell models. Another disturbing fact is that while the Black community represents about fourteen percent, per capita, of people in this country, the statistic for unsolved missing persons cases involving Black victims is about forty percent. Sad, but unfortunately, true.

Has anyone noticed, amid all of the coverage of the Lisa Irwin case, that a two year old named Bianca Jones also disappeared? Lisa Irwin went missing from Kansas City, Missouri, in October of last year. Her parents have hindered police investigations ever since, and have even tampered with witnesses. Bianca Jones was reported missing from Detroit, Michigan, in early December of last year. Many people have searched for her, and while there may be some serious problems with testimony from Bianca's father, the rest of her family has cooperated with law enforcement. Still, there is much, much more information about Lisa Irwin. There are many more pictures of Lisa to be found online, even though most of them were taken months before she disappeared, and are probably useless in terms of locating her. The main difference that I can see between Lisa's pictures and Bianca's pictures; however, is that Lisa's depict a White child and Bianca's depict a Black child. Bianca's missing persons case needs the same amount of coverage as Lisa's has garnered.

Perhaps her show will provide the inspiration to renew the earnest search for little Bianca Jones.  Below is Bianca Jones's picture, one more time. We Haven't Forgotton, Terri Horman

Polygraphs. They are pretty accurate. Not one hundred percent, not admissable as evidence in court, but they are still reliable tools to help determine when a person is lying. Often more reliable than the word of a suspect or a witness. In fact, the biggest problem had with polygraphs, by law enforcement, seems to be guilty people who pass them, not innocent people who do not pass them. In view of this, there are several people who I think should take some failed polygraphs over, this time telling the truth about their circumstances. We could start with D'Andre Lane, father of Michigan toddler, Bianca Jones, who has been missing since the first weekend of December. His attorney feels that "stress", and "lack of preperation" has flawed the results of the polygraph Lane took, causing it to show deception. I actually agree with Mr. Defense Attorney on this: the stress of trying to hide evidence of a terrible crime and the lack of preperation connected to not having enough time to concoct a good story and collaborate with all possible witnesses and the victim can certainly affect the results of a polygraph. Yes indeed.

But Mr. Lane just might have been outdone by Debbie Bradley, of Kansas City, Missouri, also mother of Lisa Irwin, who was reported missing on October 4, when she was ten months old. Debbie Bradley openly admitted that she failed a polygraph. Not only was she shown to have answered key questions on the polygraph deceptively, but she actually interfered with the testimony of Lisa's older brothers! Not exactly what I would expect from a mother who wants to find her missing child, but definately what what I would expect from someone who has committed a crime and keeps witnesses quiet by bullying them. I sincerely hope that Lisa's brothers do not have to grow up hiding a horrible crime and covering for parents or step parents with criminal tendencies. That kind of situation is never healthy for children.

Moving a little further West, we have Julia Biryukova, mother of two year old Sky Metalwala, who went missing before Thanksgiving, in Bellevue, Washington. After giving law enforcement in Washington a truly crazy story about running out of gas when her car still had gas, and leaving her baby behind when she walked to a gas station without a gas can to get gas for the car that had not run out of gas, she refused to take a polygraph. And after promising to arrange one, her attorney has not arranged for her to take a polygraph. Nice......not! She's looking for a new boyfriend online these days, not for her missing son.

And lets not forget Terri Horman. Her stepson, Kyron Horman, has been missing since June 4, 2010. He disappeared from his school. She failed two polygraphs when questioned about her knowledge of what happened to Kyron on that day. Specifically, the questions that tripped her up concerned what happened to Kyron, and her own whereabouts during that day. Her attorney is certainly well connected enough to schedule another polygraph examination, in the event of his client's innocence, to clear this up. Yet.....it hasn't happened. Now she hides at the home of her parents, full time, looking for...........another TEACHING job! As if the world owed her such a thing!

Bianca Jones: A Sad Update

A few days ago, I posted about  two year old Bianca Jones, who was reported missing, earlier this month, by her father, D'andre Lane. Bianca remains missing, and according to law enforcement, the nature of the search has changed. Cadaver dogs have picked up on a scent in Lane's apartment, and several other places that are possibly connected to his daughter. I was certainly hoping to hear something different than this.

If only I could give Bianca's mom a hug.

Amber Alert From Detroit

Two year old Bianca Jones was kidnapped in Detroit, Michigan yesterday morning. Her dad's car was carjacked, and she was still inside when it was driven away. Later, the car was found, but not Bianca. Here's the story, so far.

This is the best picture I can find of Bianca. She had braids in her hair when she went missing, and weighs about twenty-five pounds.
