Amber Alert For Devon Davis

An Amber alert was issued for a two year old named Devon Davis, in Texas, on Tuesday. His family moved there about a week ago. According to the statement given by his mom, April Davis, she was taking a nap, and when she woke up, the door was open, and her son was missing. At this point, police have begun calling the search a "recovery", rather than a rescue. Not very encouraging.

This is Devon. The FBI is now involved, so if you see him, please alert local law enforcement.

Update: This is so sad; the little guy was found in a lake. He appears to have drowned. No one is sure how he got there.

Colorado Adoptive Mother Who Misplaced Her Children Goes To Prison

This case, from Colorado, is interesting because Kansas, next door to Colorado has a very similar case. In 2000, Linda and Edward Bryant adopted two boys, Edward and Austin, who have not been seen by anyone since late 2003 or early 2004, yet, until last year, they collected various incomes from the state for each child. No one knows where Edward and Austin are, and Edward and Linda are not telling, but Colorado threw the book at both of them for fraud and theft. Edward's court date is in April of this year, but Linda was sentenced last week to fortytwo years in prison. "In her plea agreement, Bryant pleaded guilty to 4 counts of Felony Theft, 2 counts of Conspiracy to Commit Theft, and 48 counts of Attempting to Influence a Public Servant."....KRDO. To the right is Austin's age progressed photo.

In Kansas, we have a couple of lovebirds named Doug and Valerie Herrman, who did the same thing with their adopted son. In 1993, they adopted Adam, and some time during the fall of 1999, they "lost" him. They told the rest of their family one untrue story, Adam's biological family another untrue story, and never once bothered to inform the state, when they got Adam's stipend checks, that Adam was no longer living with them. They also never filed a missing persons report with the police. They also never cooperated with law enforcement in any of the efforts to find Adam, which took place in 2009, when Adam's biological sister finally discovered he was missing and reported it. To the right is Edwin Bryant's age progressed picture.

Doug and Valerie Herrman initially entered a plea of "not guilty" to charges of theft and fraud. They changed it to "guilty" when it looked as though they might lose, in a trial involving a jury of their peers. They also thought they would avoid going to prison if they admitted that they are disgusting thieves. Their lawyer had it all worked out, too. But then they learned the hard way, a day or two before court, that judges are under no obligation to accept a guilty plea. He sent Valerie to prison for seven months, and Doug to prison for nine months. He was quite outraged about Adam. But here's the thing: how can two states that are so close together have such different penalties for the same crime? Shouldn't Doug and Valerie Herrman stay in prison for fortytwo years, too?

Do Racoons Have Opposeable Thumbs?

The latest questions for Siri have certainly been interesting. I still get a steady amount of "Siri demonic", Siri Satan", and "Siri 666", but for a change of pace, Siri was asked, "How tall is Rick Santorum?" The answer is 6' 4". Also, among the Siri searches was a request to see Siri naked! Hahaha! There will be no pics of Siriunsun naked, because the picture on the right is the closest to adult content I am willing to publish! Asking for naked pictures.....geesh! Where do some people think they are? Walmart? There was also a query of, "Siri, do racoons have opposeable thumbs?" The answer is no. They do not. But they are very able to manipulate locking mechanisms, and in studies done with racoons in captivity, have been shown to be able to remember how to spring different locks three years after only doing it once! That's pretty impressive. They can also open doors with their paws, turn on water with their paws, and use their paws to pour cereal out of boxes while you are at work. They never remember to turn the water off after they have turned it on, though.

My Cat Looks Just Like This

Petition To Inform Governer Browncrack That Education Is Important

This is not really much of a surprise, but Kansas governer Sam Brownback has proposed tax cuts to corperations, (does he think corperations are people, too?) and to the wealthiest citizens in the state, and has told the rest of us that the formula for funding for public schools can no longer be supported and he wants to continue to slash education. The truth is, he cannot afford to ignore the schools, and he should insist upon more money for them, not less. Kansans United In Voice And Spirit has put together a petition, and this is the link to it.

Hey Lightlilly, lowlevel government drudge in Marysville Kansas; just a little knowledge of the etymologies of your first and last name should clue you in to who you are, but if not, don't worry, someone will write letter or petition requesting that you clean up your act. Consider this your warning. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, ever ask anyone to divulge personal information that is designed to remain unavailable to folks of your ilk ever again. If you cannot do your job without overstepping medical and and other confidentiality bounderies or violating the law, then perhaps it is time for the community to find someone who can. Consider this your warning, Lightlilly. No one is messing around, here.

One more point I should make, Lightlilly: when you consistantly badger a citizen for personal information about another citizen, and the citizen you badger does not wish to divulge any personal knowledge of another or does not have any personal knowledge of another to divulge, yet you continue to pester and threaten legal action, (!!) it becomes harassment. Harassment is against the law. Threats of legal action to obtain information from someone who is not under oath are also against the law. Unless you want to hear this again, from someone who can force the issue, I suggest you cease and desist.
