Trump Learned Nothing From Watergate

In addition to his lack of empathy toward parents whose son died in 2004, while fighting in Iraq, Donald Trump has gone for the international jugular vein and invited hackers in Russia to commit espionage by hacking email accounts owned by government officials, most notably Hillary Clinton. Standing before a live microphone, he actually asked them to hack and reveal sensitive information. It's almost as if he thought that sort of thing was legal, and without any risks!

Hacking and wiretapping with the intention of influencing an election is hardly original. Trump apparently has forgotten 1972, when Nixon unlawfully recorded conversations of his political opponents. Of course, an obvious difference between Nixon and Trump is that Nixon was intelligent enough to understand that such actions are against the law, and attempted to hide his involvement when the news broke. Trump, it seems, either does not remember Watergate, or failed to learn from it.

While Clinton could have handled her email correspondence more safely while she served as Secretary of State, invoking the criminal element of another country, particularly one that is not one of our allies, is dangerous. It is also something that is no laughing matter, so if Trump is jesting, he should learn self control. Why would a presidential candidate laughingly request that others make a crime victim out of his opponent?

Republican Uses For The War On Drugs

"You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin. And then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities," Ehrlichman said. "We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did." John Erlichman, former aide to Richard Nixon

One has to wonder if the same tactics can work on government agencies.......

Four Dead In Ohio

Richard Nixon's speech after four students were killed at Kent State. No one had threatened law enforcement; they simply determined that the approach of questioning authority should be met with lethal violence. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Ten days after the incident at Kent State, there was a similar protest at Jackson State University, a Black college in Mississippi. Police came, sprayed bullets into gatherings of unarmed students, and actually fired shots into dormitory windows, killing two and injuring nine. The media did not make a big deal of it, though.

Is It Blackmail If You Don't Get Paid?

Interesting. Nixon actually went on national television stating that blackmail might not actually be blackmail, in elected political office, if the blackmailer suspected that he might not get paid! Voters, please pay attention when you vote, and don't get your candidates at Kmart!

Michelle Bachman, just shut up!

Anniversary Of Kent State Tragedy

May 4, 1970 was the day that four students were gunned down by Ohio National Guard. There were vigils and demonstrations going on at Kent State at that time because of the Vietnam War, and because of Nixon's expansion of the Vietnam War into Cambodia. Somehow, an unarmed student body of a university became what law enforcement considered a legitimate target of soldiers with weapons. Think, everyone. How often do you want to read headlines such as this?

What Do Bishop Mitt Romney And Bishop Robert Finn Have In Common?

What do Bishop Mitt Romney (yes, he's an LDS bishop) and Bishop Robert Finn have in common? Bishop Robert Finn was asked, several times over the past couple of years, to hand over a hard drive and a lap top to authorities. Instead, Bishop Finn made these items disappear. It seems that Bishop Romney is proficient with the same disappearing stunt.....he successfully made several hard drives and a whole slew of emails from his tenure as Governer of Massachusetts disappear. When Bishop Finn's magically missing laptop was found, law enforcement discovered that they had some very serious issues, specifically, kiddie porn, with Catholic churches in an entire diocese, from St. Joseph, Missouri to Kansas City, Missouri. What will the general public find in Bishop Romney's emails and other records he is hiding, when and if they are found? Usually, when an official, such as a bishop, governer, or president (can anyone say "Nixon"?) refuses to turn over information such as records or communiques, it is because said official is hiding something or covering for someone. It is not because the official is doing his or her job in an exemplary fashion.

"Bishop" Romney

Nixon, who insisted he was "not a crook".

Bishop Finn, who doesn't think he did
anything wrong either, despite the kiddie
porn he tried to hide from police in
Kansas City, Missouri.

Corrupt Republicans, Already

Mysterious company dissolves after giving $1 million to pro-Romney PAC.............today's Yahoo news.

Ya know, Republicans, I already know who your stinkin' candidates are, I already have an opinion about most of them, and I already know who I'm probably going to vote for, so if you wanna grab money for your stupid little campaign, just do it the way you're supposed to do it. Or just campaign by starting a new charity with more capitol going to the cause rather than the overhead, or donate funds to an existing charity, and spend as much time as possible being a spokesperson for that, instead of taking money for advertising from a super-pac. I would be much more impressed, and so would many other Americans. Also, Mitt Romney belongs to the same deranged religious movement to which Warren Jeffs belongs, and no amount of advertising can erase that. So..........please stop reminding me of Nixon era Republicans. Not only does it cost too much to invoke laws to straighten you guys out, it gets boring.

This is for you, Republican Party.
