Kansas Public School Administrators Face Charges

In May of 2016, Keaton Krell, a La Cygne, Kansas teacher in a public high school, was arrested for having a sexual relationship with one of his students. Everyone connected to Prairie View Unified School District acted surprised, especially the superintendent, Chris Kleidotsy. The principal, Tim Weis, also claimed to have no knowledge of the situation.

Kleidotsy moved on, and became the superintendent in Tonganoxie, Kansas, and Weis was still principal at the same school until yesterday, when both men were arrested. It seems that they actually did know that Keaton Krell was having an inappropriate relationship with a student, and it also seems that despite the fact that this is unlawful, they thought there was no obligation to report Krell's conduct to law enforcement and let the child's parents know.

Banned In Kansas Public Schools

A new neighbor and I had a laugh the other day about Frankfort High School and it's ban of my site at their school. Frankfort High allows Facebook, a few porn sites, violent video games, and all other blogs on their computers, but not mine. Frankfort also allows convicted felons who are not employed at the school, and who have no children attending the school, to simply "hang around" in the building during the day, but the reading of Siri's World And The Dissenting Opinion is strictly banned!

This is actually pretty funny. Also, to anyone who wants a bunch of teenagers to do something, the best way to gain their cooperation is to forbid it. Seriously. But my site has no porn, and most of the slang the reader will encounter here is guff from a troll named Melissa Kennedy, who teaches at Frankfort! I also do not support the use of illegal drugs or any type of criminal behavior, I do not violate copyrights, threaten, or abuse any other law, so what makes my site so dangerous? Remember, Dean Dalinghaus, principal of Frankfort Experiment, actually told a parent that he deliberately omitted as much teaching about the Constitution as possible, because when children learn about it, running a school "becomes harder". Deanis Dalinghaus may be qualified to lead lemmings over a cliff, but he is not qualified to administrate a school. My children do not attend his sorry excuse for a public school any longer.

Something that does bother me is the message that was sent to my six children, about me, concerning respect. Frankfort School, by banning my site, while allowing all kinds of messages and input from other parents, basically told my children that they feel that I do not deserve respect. Why is Frankfort so threatened by any discussion of what goes on in the world outside of Frankfort, especially in schools? Schools where music teachers do not boff their students and get them knocked up. Schools that do not allow convicted felons awaiting space in federal prison to wander about the campus. Schools that employ teachers who do not abandon students four miles away from school and just forget about them. School that do not continue the employ of teachers who tell veterans that they "do not give two shits about the flag" (quote belongs to Melissa Kennedy) when they disagree about the candidate the veteran supports in an election. If Frankfort High School was actually so terribly threatened because of this site, simply banning all social media would have been more discreet. It would have protected my children from that lovely Christian hatred they seem to run into all over Kansas and would have certainly made it easier for them to concentrate on studies instead of cliques and local politics. But then, Frankfort High School isn't really interested in studies, or in protecting children. Frankfort High School in only interested in ways to express racism, prejudism, ignorance, ethnocentrism, and stupidity. They also favor lies and dishonesty. Open attempts to teach any child to disrespect parents is actually against the cause of education. Frankfort High School really should be shut down, consolidated with other public schools, and forgotten about.

Another sillyassed bunch of people who feel threatened by education and intelligence is attempting to ban Neil Degrasse Tyson's contributions to PBS in the entire state of Oklahoma. School officials in Saddlebridge, Oklahoma do not want any students watching Neil Degrasse Tyson's "Cosmos". It contains new theories and new knowledge, combined with old fashioned math and common sense, that apparently scares these teachers. So what's the best plan of action? Ban the knowledge, of course. That way, no student will ask a question that cannot be answered at school.

Note: Before this site was "banned" in Frankfort Experiment, yours truly received large numbers of emails and comments directed to this site from teachers in Frankfort, Kansas. You can read some of them here. Be warned, however; that the comments reproduced and shared are unaltered, and contain all of the foul language that originated in the minds of the senders. If protection from the legal consequences of their own actions generated the banning of this site in Frankfort High School, despite the open recognition of first amendment rights of KKK supporters, Westboro Baptist Church and their ilk, pornography creators, and bible thumpers, perhaps Mrs. Rottinghaus could have simply stated that she was protecting the school from a lawsuit that might result from teachers harassing innocent parents, such as yours truly. No need to demonize someone who does not endanger children and use computers to make threats. Why do Frankfort teachers use computers to spread anger and hate, anyway?  Along with deliberately leaving children alone during school hours in places and situations where they are vulnerable and have no defense or resources in the event of medical or situational emergency, Frankfort teachers threaten and abuse parents who ask for safe schools! USD 380 in Kansas is not a very good school. Maybe colleges will begin to think twice before accepting it's students.

In Case You Slept Through Church On Sunday

Chances are, if you went to this lunatic's church on Sunday, you did not sleep through his sermon! I had no idea that anyone with such stupid, whacky things to say could even have a following, let alone a big church! What a sad statement about America. Sadly, we are not a Pagan nation. While yours truly is and always will be a Pagan without shame, Hagee's congregation is a bunch of dumbasses without shame.

The principles if Witchcraft are taught in public schools? Seriously, Hagee? If you think that, you are beyond stupid. You are simply delusional.

Vintage 1963

Fiftieth anniversaries, yes! We have had two very special ones this year. Dr. Who debuted in England, and became a very long running science fiction series, and Madalyn Murry won her landmark case, which she filed in Baltimore, Maryland, to finally rid public schools of Christian prayer, and other overt symptoms of mental illness. The case was actually filed in 1959, but Murry was persistant, and eventually prevailed. She also started the American Athiests.

While your blogger is not exactly an atheist, she has a great appreciation for Dr. Who.  Dr. Who not only appeals to the artistic and intellectually inclined among us, but has resisted the sexual innuendo of American advertising, which makes it a wonderful show to share with one's children. Dr. Who also encourages critical thinking and imagination. American Atheists and Dr. Who; two brilliant concepts from 1963.

No Amber Alert If A Frankfort Kansas Child Disappears

Kansas public schools, particularly the one in Frankfort, have yet another serious safety issue, in addition to the lack of insurance on their buildings and activities, thanks to the legalization of guns carried by teachers in Kansas schools as of July of this year. Because of the government shutdown, the Amber Alert website is offline. Apparently, notifying the public when a child has been wrongfully taken via automobile is not considered essential by our elected, trusted servants in Congress and the Senate!

It is hard to imagine what this means in Frankfort, Kansas, where it is considered business as usual for teachers to abandon students on the highway and refuse to report them missing when they get lost and disappear. This means that at the end of the school day, when the child does not come home, alerts will not be shared with motorists, or even on the news, to help the public recognize any vehicle that may have been involved; when a child is lost, sometimes he or she will accept a ride from a stranger, hoping to get found again. This was actually done to female freshman in recent years, and she was very lucky to make it home. What about the Frankfort student who is not so lucky?

Kansas public schools take too many chances with the safety of children already. In Frankfort, where the teacher who "lost" the student still works, an Amber Alert could mean the difference between coming home safely if lost, or having a permanently open missing persons case. Perhaps it would be wise, if the teacher who abandons children on the highway seriously cannot be fired for his crimes, to at least furlough him along with other casualties of the government shutdown, until the Amber Alert website is back online.

Petition Requesting Fairness Of Marysville Kansas School Board

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote this post concerning the residence of a talented high school junior in a Kansas school district that would rather cut and cut the curriculums and extra curricular activities for their students, rather than consolidate with other Kansas school districts, enabling the availability of more educational options for students. Sports, of course, was not touched; only the classes which appeal to the more artistic or intellectually inclined students, of which USD 380, Vermillion Kansas, has too few.

Rhiannon Ambrose would love to attend a school that offers forensics, speech, and drama. She also would like to sing and take music. Unfortunately, Frankfort, her home school, does not offer those classes, and when she tried to take extracurricular vocal, the music teacher denied her, reserving the slots in his choir for children who have lived in Frankfort since birth or early childhood, or whose parents have political connections in the area. He admits this, too, and says he has been doing this for over twenty-seven years, and that he is not going to change now! Okay, fine; but J.D. Gallion even took it a step further, and told Rhiannon her voice was terrible, and not to ever sing again! What a jerk! He also discriminates against anyone who does not attend a Christian church, too, and proudly discriminates in the name of Frankfort United Methodist Church, but that's another post!

Rhiannon Ambrose decided to simply ask USD 364, a neighboring school district, if she could take advantage of "open enrollment" in Kansas and attend Marysville High. The answer was "no"! Apparently, "open enrollment" is only "open" to "certain" children, even though the law and the policy, itself, state that it is open to any student in good standing!  It would be better for USD 380 to keep Rhiannon and suck up those enrollment dollars for her presence, rather than let go of her, and allow her to attend a different school, where she could happily take the classes in which she excels. I am sharing a link to the petition that was written about this, and I am asking everyone to sign it and share it. This is unfair, and it has made a political casualty out of a high school student.

Rhiannon's petition can be signed if you click on the link. Thankyou, everyone!

Kansas Public Schools Are All At Risk

Kansas is in denial. It seems that U.S. Department of Education has taken notice of the fact that Kansas schools like to hang on to incompetent teachers, despite any high failure rates among their students, and keep their insular, ridicules social fishbowls intact, rather than terminating the contracts and careers of those who were not born to teach, in favor of hiring real teachers who can educate our children. Because of this, the state of Kansas is in danger of losing it's No Child Left Behind waiver. Not that No Child Left Behind has been wonderful or great, or even satisfactory; but there is a school principal in Frankfort, Kansas, who actually encourages his special education teacher for grades three through six to deliberately impede any learning done by the young people in her class, because the minute those children catch up to their peers, the school stops receiving extra funding. This school also has a much higher percentage of special education "cases" than most public schools in other states.......there are about one hundred and ten students in the school, and at least thirty of them have special education services. If this is an example of how Kansas funds it's public schools, and we should all hope it isn't, then it's truly no big surprise that the U.S. Department of Education is now taking notice. Your tax dollars at work, Kansas. It is well past time to consolidate the schools and lose the small, "unified" districts that are not accountable to anyone for teaching our children.

One More Reason Religion does Not Belong In Public School

Northeast Kansas. The land of academic sighing. The place where sixth grade teachers use the movie, The Ten Commandments, starring Charleton Heston, as source material to teach about middle eastern cultures..........(these kids did not even know which religious holiday the movie was about) The place where children in school are told how to get to heaven or hell, but not how to find the Dominican Republic, or any other country, on a map. The place where children are not encouraged to become fluent in any language at all, including their native language(s).

There are alternatives, thank the Gods. Cyber districts have become much more sophisticated in recent years, and some are free. They have the same title programs for students who need assistance in reaching certain goals, and they have excellent teachers. There are also many more choices in foreign languages and other electives. The online schools that charge fees are often less expensive than enrollment fees that are extorted from parents in places where public schools are unconsolidated. Students are also much more free to personally investigate locations discussed in online classes.

Cyber schooling is a godsend for the student who is academically ahead of the other students in a geographic location more given to intolerance and below average thinking. A gifted and talented child is usually miserable sitting a classroom, day after day, with students whose skills are several grade levels behind the level of the gifted student. In some instances, cyber schools will even allow dual enrollment, in cases wherein there is a reason to send a child physically to a local school, as well.

As for bullying, it is much harder for the strata of bully cultures to flourish in online schools. It is also nearly impossible for religious discrimination to play the role it plays in person by tormenting a child whose parents do not conform socially to accepted religious and meaningless hierarchy or conform physically to the genetically unvaried phenotypes found within an isolated and undersocialized population.

Of course, the fewer children personally enrolled in the public school system of a locale, the less money that locale will garner from state and federal agencies to run their public schools. So this eventually affects the quality of education for the children whose parents do not care about education enough to remove their children from negative influences. It also reduces the need for public school teachers; and as teachers for cyber schools are usually better educated and more qualified than many public school teachers, especially in Frankfort, Kansas, the need for public school teachers becomes reduced, as well, as a result of alternative choices. What a quandary for the local school! It might have been a more strategic choice to simply resist the urge to force religious conversion upon students in a public school!
