Sydney Loofe Was Found

Sadly, Sidney Loofe, who went missing in the middle of November, was found deceased in Clay County, Nebraska. Two suspects, Aubrey Trail and Bailey Boswell, have been charged in her murder. Because they led investigators on a multi-state chase, they are both being held on federal charges. Both are also charged in a federal case involving theft of merchandise over $5,000 from an antique dealer in Hiawatha, Kansas and transporting it to Beatrice, Nebraska. It's very sad that Sidney ever made the acquaintance of either of these two suspects. Once again, if you have any information that might be helpful to those attempting to get justice in this case, please contact law enforcement at one of the numbers on the flyer.

Josue Ramirez-Marinero

Josue Ramirez-Marinero was located on Monday morning, trapped in some branches on the bank of the Elkhorn River, outside of Omaha, Nebraska. His older brother, Roberto Martinez-Marinero, had invited his mom over to his place in order to stab her to death when she was unable to lend him money, and because Josue was almost five, (his birthday is on May 26) Roberto determined that it was necessary to kill him, so he would not be able to testify. Roberto is now in jail, charged with two counts of murder, and was denied bond. Roberto's girlfriend, Gabriela Guevara, was charged as an accessory to both counts, and her bond is one million dollars. Josue is survived by his eleven month old brother, Angel, who was found in the trash after his mother was killed.

Why'd all this have to happen?

Update On Nebraska's Amber Alert

The vehicle cited in the Amber Alert for five year old Josue Ramirez-Marinero has been located, so the Amber Alert was cancelled early this morning. Young Josue, however; has NOT been located, so it is still important for the public to be aware that there is still a missing little boy. His mother was positively identified as the woman who was found deceased in Nebraska yesterday, and his eleven month old brother was found in a dumpster. Anyone with information is asked to call the Omaha Police at 402-444-5656.

Kansas And Nebraska Defend Racism

Parade Float; picture courtesy of WIBW Topeka

A Fourth Of July parade in Norfolk, Nebraska celebrated by mocking President Obama by making a float that suggested that Obama is not as well read as the average, bovine, Midwestern Caucasian. This is simply hilarious. President Obama is a constitution lawyer, and most of the parade attendees, including those who created the float, probably do not even read at a sixth grade level. Their defense of the public racist statement? "It's obvious that the majority of the community liked it," said Rick Konapasek, one of the parade's organizers, according to WIBW.

So, if all this guff from the nonsensical parade organizer is interpreted correctly, it appears that we have a segment of the population here in America that does not understand that the "majority" only rules during a popular election. The "majority" does not have the authority, or the right, to override the law. The principal of the public school in Frankfort made that mistake when telling a parent that he could teach and preach christianity at the PUBLIC school because the "majority" of people in Frankfort are christians, and didn't mind if federal law was violated at Frankfort School. The ACLU was quick to point out to the principal that this is incorrect; it is unlawful to violate the the law, no matter how many crooked frankfurters appear to be in favor of it. While a parade float is not quite the same thing, promotion of racism and unlawful discrimination is not only backwards, rude, and stupid; but a terrible example for children.

A lot of pink and fluffy Midwesterners apparently don't remember "white's only" signs on businesses, or race riots, or demonstrations and marches, or glass ceilings, (we still have those) or Brown v. the Board of Education in Topeka, or all of the violence connected to enforcing Brown v. the Board of Education in Topeka. Quite a few of the pink and fluffy crowd are not even aware that a woman could not obtain credit to buy a home without a male co-signer until 1974. Or that children could be bullied by teachers in school for religious reasons until 1963. How far behind do these ignorant neo-nazi types want to slide? The "majority" supported these forms of discrimination until challenges were issued, and the Supreme Court established what is already guaranteed by our Constitution. Something the Midwest, Nebraska and Kansas in particular, very much need to learn is that when something becomes law, especially federal law, it is not optional. The "majority" in a white, church-going community do not have the right to discriminate against those perceived as somehow not conforming to the preferred pink and fluffy mode of existence so favored by their adipose tissue. Another word for "majority" is Bolshevik, and from the way Christianity is practiced in Northeast Kansas, that appears to sum up the goal of christian churches in the Midwest, and the interest those churches have in schools and public parades. Yuk.

Using A Taxi As A Getaway Car

Fleeing the crime scene in a taxi? And actually getting all the way to Omaha, Nebraska from Lawrence, Kansas before getting arrested? Antonio Gaitan actually tried it, after robbing Truity Credit Union in Lawrence. Fortunately for the driver, police believed him when he said he had no idea he was helping Gaitan abscond with money from a robbery!

Almost equally funny are two Minnesota burglars who accidently butt-dialed 911 while burglarizing a Meineke Car Care in Minneapolis. The dispatcher answered, stayed on the line, and heard the two men discuss the crime in progress from the crime scene! Almost needless to say, police were able to find them. The defense attorneys will probably try to get the phone call barred from evidence......

Good For Nebraska

What a Koch Brother to do, anymore? Even the Republicans don't wanna play! Nebraska, for the second time, has foiled their plans to run Keystone through their state. First, several landowners felt cheated at the prospect of their land getting snatched by the process of eminent domain when the land snatched for the pipeline would not benefit anyone in their respective communities, or anyone in Nebraska, for that matter. So a lawsuit somehow ended up granting the governor the ultimate say-so concerning where and when the pipeline could be built. The governor, Dave Hieneman, (R) initially opposed the project because of the potential of polluting the Ogallala Aquifer should anything not go as the Koch Brothers have promised. Now, it seems that there have been concerns about too much power granted to the governor inasmuch as the decision of who must sell his property for conscience money is concerned. Lancaster County Judge Stephanie Stacy took that authority away from the governor and put it back in the legislature's hands. It's hard to imagine that one pair of corrupt businessmen can personally own as many of our local, state, and national politicians and leaders as they own, and also control any grants given to any part of the scientific community.

Nebraska Amber Alert

A one year old girl named Mystery Bringsplenty has been kidnapped by her aunt, Aimy Dixon, and her aunt's boyfriend, Jesse Morrison, in Chadron, Nebraska. Mystery is Native American, as are her aunt and uncle. They told law enforcement in Nebraska that the Oglala Sioux Tribe had granted them custody of Mystery, but Nebraska law enforcement could find no basis for this, and could not verify this, so they told Dixon and Morrison to file for custody the normal way, in court. Instead of doing that, Dixon sent her ten year old son into Mystery's parents' home through a window to unlock the door and let her and Morrison inside, at which time, they took Mystery from her parents by force. All this just happened this morning. They are said to be headed to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, in a vehicle described as a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville, bronze, with Nebraska tags: 69E787.

Update: Mystery has been found safe.

Where Does The Republican River End?

When I first noticed the question, "where does the Republican River end?" in the search words, leading to this site, I thought it was a snarky queery from a sore winner after last year's presidential election for a fleeting second, then I remembered that there actually IS a Republican River in Kansas. The answer to the question is Junction City, where it meets the Smoky Hill River to become the Kansas River. It starts in Eastern Colorado, flows into Southern Nebraska, and back down into North Central Kansas until it gets to Junction City. Maybe the river needs a new name!

Kerra Wilson

Yesterday, when I heard that eight year old Kerra Wilson was missing from Nebraska, I was ready to start printing up flyers with her picture and information, since Nebraska is right next door to me. She was reported missing on Wednesday, at around 3:00 PM, from Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Her stepfather, Salvadore Carlos Lopez, claimed that he dropped her off at school that morning, but because the school has camaras and a security system, and cooperated fully with authorities by handing over all of their data from the camaras, they were able to determine immediately that Kerra had not been inside the school that day. Because no one knew of a vehicle involved in her disappearance, no amber alert could be issued. On Thursday, a rancher in Mitchell, Nebraska found her body. At that time, Kerra's stepfather was arrested and charged with her murder. How sad. Rest in peace, Kerra.
