Bible Thumpers And Free Advertising

Wow. What an amusing, completely crazed, bible thumping fatso! She doesn't like the fact that people are not all alike. As long as she doesn't throw her bible at anyone, her rant is entertaining. She should really audition for a role in a theatrical production.

Whatever happened to responsibility for the safety of one's own progeny when visiting a department store? And, if completely dissatisfied with an aspect of shopping in a department store, why give publicity to the business by acting like a clown?

Foo Fighters Rickroll Westboro Baptist Church

Lol! Westboro Baptist Church decided to picket a Foo Fighter concert in Kansas City, but the band rode by on the back of a pick-up truck blasting Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up", hence the term "rickrolling", thereby completely upstaging them! Foo Fighters did something similar in 2011, when Westboro Baptist Church picketed them in Topeka. They dressed up in wigs and played "Keep It Clean" for Westboro.

The First For Riley County Kansas

Congratulations to the first gay couple in Riley County, Kansas to marry! Today was a very special day for Joleen Hickman and Darci Bohnenblust. Despite the ongoing efforts of a small number of Republican officials who pander to a larger number under socialized morons, who live in Kansas, to deny civil rights to some citizens while fully granting them to others, Joleen and Darci were married in Manhattan, Kansas this morning. Such equality, here in Kansas, of all places!

Gays Always Want Cakes Baked For Them

Pat Robertson has spoken....yet again! He, once again, has found a new way to twist the words of the Constitution and the doctrines of the Christian religion to fit a new and deranged formula only beknown to his own subconscious. Gay men and women are now terrorists if they order cakes for their weddings and other special occasions......Only white, christian heterosexual types can enter bakeries or visit caterers and have events planned and catered! If anyone else does this, it's clearly a sign of terrorism.......(eye-rolley here)

Reverend Robertson has his panties in a bunch because the Kansas senate refused to pass House Bill 2453 earlier this year. The bill would have allowed any business or government agency, including but not limited to public schools and hospitals, to refuse service to anyone whose demeanor, jewelry, tattoos, skin color, accent, or surname posed a "religious conflict" for the employee or gatekeeper providing customer service. The reason it did not pass the senate, besides it's insane content and stupid language, is that such a bill, were it to become law, is at obvious cross purposes with the Constitution and federal law. It seems Robertson is disappointed that members of the senate were uninterested in fighting terrorism by instigating bigotry and unlawful discrimination. How the pastor links ordering a cake from a bakery to terrorism is still a mystery, though.

If all those terrorists, regardless of sexual preference, only want cakes baked for them, the solution seems simple enough; just give Betty Crocker a call.

Au Revior, Reverend Phelps

On March 19, 2014, just before the stroke of midnight, the renowned fire and brimstone preacher, sometime civil rights attorney, and great granddaddy of all sign carriers, Reverend Fred Phelps, of Kansas, drew his final breath. He was only eighty-four years old. He started his career as an attorney; back in the day. He even won some battles for progressive and noble causes, such as litigation against Jim Crowe racists, who lurk all over Kansas. It is unclear exactly when Phelps became completely disillusioned with the cause of Light, and switched over to the dark side, but sources place this sometime in the early 1980's. It is rumored that Phelps noted that his grandchildren were not as safe playing outside as he wished them to be, and felt that Topeka had not lent an acceptable amount of support in the arena of cleaning up Gage Park, in Topeka, and policing the area more efficiently. It is easy to understand the desire to protect one's children, but to date, no one outside of Westboro Baptist Church has been able to find the correlation between protecting children from stranger danger and hate campaigns against minorities and picketing funerals.  Readers in Marshall County, Kansas will be interested to note that Fred Phelps graduated from the same school that produced Laura Johnson-McNish;  Washburn University.

Amusing but not surprising is the request from Westboro Baptist Church for privacy while they mourn! Considering the history of Westboro Baptist Church, that is certainly an interesting request. Christians all over Northeast Kansas tend to make similar requests, however. Anyone who is not a mainstream neo-nazi christian thug is considered fair game for everything from slander to violence, but when the tables are turned, Kansas Christians are never able to understand why the First Amendment applies to all American Citizens, not just white christians and government employees.

The video above is a riot.

Following The Day We Fight Back

Just a reminder of why it's so important to remain educated about local and national politics. Just last week, the Kansas House of Representatives, for all practical purposes, joined Westboro Baptist Church by passing House Bill 2435. This bill is written to allow businesses and government agencies legal recourse to discriminate against the gay community. Anyone old enough to remember "whites only" water fountains? Kansas actually doesn't have a very large gay community. Where do you suppose this action, and the attitude that accompanies it, is truly headed?

Pat Robertson And The Magic Rings

Just when I think I've actually heard the most insane moronic dumbassery possible from a fundamentalist right wing stupid Christian, Pat Robertson decides to go ahead and outdo himself. Now he appears certain that HIV is spread from had to hand contact, involving, of course, members of the Gay Community. As if that is not incorrect enough, Reverend Robertson has dutifully warned his flock that people infected with HIV often have secret, magic rings which spread the virus when they shake hands with uninfected people! Seriously, does he make this stuff up on the fly, or does he have a special, Christian writer who comes up with the verbal flatulence he utters on the air? Pat neglected to tell us where to buy a magic ring, or how to report the use of magic rings to law enforcement. He also failed to brainstorm about creative uses of "germ warfare" jewelry, and praise the creativity of such an innovation! Seriously; where's the eye-rolley when I need it?

Inquiring minds might also want to know, exactly, how Reverend Pat Robertson knows about secret magic rings worn by Gay men, and why he seems so able to identify such jewelry. How many hands could Pat have possibly shaken?

Note: the above video was pulled by the 700 Club. Someone had gotten the code before that happened!
Update: The video got yanked again, most likely due to sore fundies! Had to grab the code again. Sorry for any inconveniences. Nothing more amusing than a comedian who has been mistaken for a religious teacher!

TheTimes,They Are A'changin', Westboro Baptist Church

Now that Maine and Maryland have voted to recognize marriage within the gay culture, Westboro Baptist Church must be busy! They actually were not haunting their building, or any other part of Topeka last week. But two states must now celebrate the weddings of those whose nupitals were formerly shunned, and Reverend Phelps and et els are not likely to receive invitations! If he behaves, he may get to sneak into a gay bachelor party! We all know that's what he's really wanted all these years!! Here's  Michael Moore, interviewing the folks at Westboro Baptist Church!

One More Reason To Omit Mitt

Actually, when the Constitution was first drafted, while marriage was considered to exist between a man and a woman, women were still considered chattel and did not have the right to vote, own property beyond their wedding dates, or bank their money in a lot of places in America. It's beautiful that we have all been able to move beyond those days, and bring the Constitution with us. Marriage would actually be better defined as between two adults, (heavy emphasis on the word adults) of sound mind.

San Francisco Catholic Priest Drives Drunk

Christian clergy can be an interesting lot. One of the most curious things about them is the fact that so many of them scream and cry over American politics and law, flipping out over things like equal rights for gay Americans, while at the same time, abusing children and producing kiddie porn! Today, there was some media attention drawn to a Reverend Salvatore Cordileone, whose ability to drive while intoxicated is about the same as a lay person's ability to drive while intoxicated. He is the Roman Catholic bishop of San Francisco, and he is about to be promoted, on October 4, to archbishop. The Vatican apparently has no problem with one of their bishops driving drunk, here in the United States, just as it has no problem with bishops and priests who commit sex crimes. This is one thing about Christianity that is never gonna change: the clergy will always carry on as if it existed above the law.

In Case You Missed Church This Sunday

If you were not at Westboro Baptist Church today, you might not have heard their insane rhetoric toward the gay community and other minorities. I wonder if Reverend Fred Phelps celebrated the National Kiss In at his church, Gage Park, (in Topeka, near Phred Phelps's house) or at Chick-fil-A's?

Community Reaction To New Hope Baptist Church In Seneca, Kansas

It looks like Reverend Knapp has made some new friends! After his sermon last week,  at New Hope Bapstist Church, in Seneca, Kansas, he had some visitors! It is good to see Kansans sending a counter-message to the conventional bigotry and hate that is commonplace enough in Kansas to pass for traditional lifestyles of the republican and brainwashed. Chris Knapp really thought no one would raise an eyebrow at his guff here in Kansas. Wake up, Knapp! The times, they are a-changin'!

Pastor Chris Knapp, Seneca, Kansas, And Mosaic Law

To the left is a headshot of yet another undereducated, bigoted, loudmouthed moron emitting really dumbass guff here in the state of Kansas. It seems that sometime within the last week, Pastor Chris Knapp, of New Hope Baptist Church, in Seneca, Kansas, told his congregation that our judicial system and law enforcement should round up all gay men and women and kill them. No kidding. That's what he said: “They should be put to death,” Knapp declared. “‘Oh, so you’re saying we should go out and start killing them, no?’ — I’m saying the government should. They won’t, but they should.”

This is amazing. First of all, the Torah is not as clear on the subject of homosexuality as Pastor Knapp would have all of his dumbass parishoners believe. Rabbis were not expected to be gay, but the rest of the population was not really addressed. One could always ask Pastor Knapp to translate his text word for word from Hebrew to English, but he would probably decline, citing his extreme lack of knowledge of Hebrew, or any language, including the one he speaks. Ancient Semites, in general, did not heavily address the subject of being gay. They, like all people of the time of Moses, were much too busy with life to worry about who might be gay.

Second, law enforcement in Kansas is truly occupied enough with routine stuff, like drunk drivers, bank robberies, murders, missing people, and actual crimes that constitute real police business. Asking the police to go out and round up all the gay people in order to shoot them is, in a word, insane. Just like Pastor Knapp. Where's the eye rolley when I need it? The sad problem to which law enforcement sometimes is obliged to respond is all of the bullying of gay children in Seneca who must go to school with children who attend New Hope Baptist Church. Since Jesus has been disturbingly in favor of bullying and violence in the Midwest in the past couple of years, more than one gay teenager in Northeast Kansas has had to make arrangements other than public school for education. This does not convince yours truly that Christian churches in Kansas have anything to offer a peaceful, intelligent person. Perhaps Chris Knapp is proud of all the violence and bigotry he inspires.

Third, the good Pastor Knapp, if he were able to read, might be surprised at some of the crimes that actually are written of specifically in the Torah. Any attempt to draw a picture of God, or name him, in any way, could garner the death penalty. Murder was punishable by death penalty. Most sex crimes were, as well. Perhaps someone in Pastor Knapp's family has committed one of those crimes; would Pastor Knapp be willing to pull the trigger, or bury the person to their waist and throw rocks until the person had died? Or is this just another agenda of bigotry, similar to Westboro Baptist Church? Topeka isn't very far from Seneca....perhaps these two churches are connected. Something that is not connected to any Baptist church in Kansas is Middle Eastern culture. These churches draw from traditions that are not their own, and encourage others to hate.

If Pastor Knapp really wanted to open his eyes and notice something, he could try looking around Northeast Kansas, and seeing all of the single, Christian, young ladies, who are, shall we say, "experienced" in a Jimi Hendrix sort of way. This is something that is prized above education by Kansas culture, yet quite frowned upon by the Mosaic Law. Of course, heterosexual, Christian, Kansas men would probably find young, single girls who refuse to become "experienced" very inconvenient.

Westboro Baptist Church Wants To "Attend" Whitney Houston's Funeral

The strange, angry bunch of picketing lunatics known as Westboro Baptist Church state that they will picket Whitney Houston's funeral. Normally, they picket the funerals of gay men and soldiers as a way of telling us all how much God hates us because we refuse to discriminate against the Gay community or the Jewish community, but today, they announced a picket of Whitney Houston's funeral. This is an ironic, but not unexpected decision. Whitney's last public performance shortly before she died happened to be a rendition of Jesus Loves Me.

Million Fag March

We had a Million Fag March here in Topeka, Kansas. Gage Park, to be exact.....the home of the beginnings of Westboro Baptist Church's dumbass shit. I wish I had known about it, so I could have gone. No; I am not gay, but I think all the nasty biases against them is wrongheaded and nasty. Had I known about it, I would have gone to support the Gay Community in Kansas. I could have helped them organize some music or entertainment, and make it an event everyone would want to attend, year after year. Even if I were stupid and prejudiced, like the folks in Westboro Baptist Church, (and; I suspect, most OTHER Kansas Christians) I would not wear my hatred on my sleeve and be proud of it. It is a sign of ignorance.

Read about it:
