Lyon Sisters And Lloyd Lee Welch

Last week, Lloyd Lee Welch pleaded guilty to the kidnapping and subsequent murders of Katherine Lyon, 12 years old, and Sheila Lyon, 10 years old, both of Kensington, Maryland, in March of 1975. For forty years, their disappearance was a mystery, until Montgomery County Police in Maryland decided to look over the files and the composite drawing of a man who had been seen following them. From there, they realized that Lloyd Lee Welch had paid them a visit, in a vain effort to collect reward money for knowledge of their whereabouts immediately after they disappeared. He failed a polygraph, so they didn't take him seriously. This makes him the first person of whom I have ever heard to be turned loose by the police for failing a polygraph.

I thought I would feel better after Lloyd Lee Welch went to court to enter his guilty plea in the 1975 murders of Sheila and Katherine Lyon, but I really don't. The message from Maryland is sadly clear: child abuse, including but not limited to murder, is still okey-dokey with Maryland authorities. I have yet to see Maryland authorities actually care what happens to children, even children of the rich and famous. We still do not know the whole story, and we still have not recovered the girls' remains.

Lloyd Lee Welch Has More Charges

And the hits just keep on coming! Lloyd Lee Welch, who faces murder charges in Virginia for the murders of Sheila and Katherine Lyon in 1975, has just been charged with the assault of another girl in 1996. While serving time in prison in Delaware for the sexual assault of yet another child, he was charged with kidnapping and murder of both of the Lyon sisters, who were last seen at what was once Wheaton Plaza, in Maryland.

From 1975 until 2014, plenty of people speculated about the disappearance of Sheila and Katherine, but the investigation did not yield any tangible results until late in 2013, when someone finally shared a credible tip with law enforcement. The information involved a man named Richard Welch, from Hyattsville, Maryland and his nephew, Lloyd Lee Welch. At the time, Lloyd Lee Welch was serving time in Delaware, for sexually assaulting a preteen girl in 1996. In 1992, he assaulted another preteen girl. Now, in addition to the abduction and murder of both Sheila and Katherine Lyon, who were ten and twelve years old, he has been charged with another sexual assault of a preteen girl, this time in Virginia.

There definitely appears to be a pattern in the type of victim chosen by Lloyd Lee Welch.

Terri Horman And Cold Cases And Lies

So very interesting. Forty years after one of the most heinous crimes committed in Maryland, that of the kidnap and murder of Sheila and Katherine Lyon, ten and twelve year old Montgomery County girls, a man named Lloyd Lee Welch is charged with two counts of murder. This involves two states; Maryland and Virginia. After much evidence gathering and testimony from witnesses and potential witnesses, one man, so far, has been charged in this case. There is even a multi-state grand jury meeting at least once a month to go over evidence. Many Marylanders, who remember this case from 1975, doubted that it would ever be resolved.

What does this have to do with Terri Horman and her gang of merry scofflaws? She is the sometime step parent of another missing child, Kyron Horman. Kyron was seven years old when he was last seen leaving his school in Portland, Oregon with Terri Horman in June of 2010. This happened just as school commenced for the day, around 9:00 AM, and no one, least of all, Terri, reported him missing until after 3:00 PM. Days have stretched into weeks and months, which, in turn, have stretched into years...five years. There is also a grand jury that convenes for Kyron every once in a while, to review any new tips and go over existing evidence.

Terri Horman, her parents, and her friends and other et els do not appear to take the search and investigation for Kyron Horman very seriously. A few of them have been subpoenaed to appear before the grand jury to answer questions about the case. Rather than assist in the investigation, they stall and assert fifth amendment rights, claiming that they will incriminate themselves if they answer simple questions about the day Kyron disappeared. A certain amount of misinformation has been deliberately generated by this crowd, too.

The case of the Lyon sisters, mentioned above, also involves people who covered for each other, over the years, and lied to the grand jury when it convened. A major difference, however; is that forty years went by prior to the culmination of the investigation and the charging of the individual thought to be primarily responsible for the disappearance and subsequent deaths of those two girls. Yet the truth is just as esteemed by investigators and the rest of the population as it was forty years ago; but this came as a surprise to those asked for the truth. They thought that because so many years had passed, no one would care about Sheila and Katherine Lyon anymore. They also thought that the passage of time somehow erased the need for accountability. So they went to court, when summoned by the grand jury, and lied their asses off. In December of last year, Patricia Welch was arrested after one such lie, and is due in court in October. Last week, her brother, Leslie Engleking, her grandchild, Amy Welch Johnson, and her husband's sister, Gladys Stangee, were also arrested for lying and attempting to hide the truth. Amy Welch Johnson was not even born in 1975, when the crime occurred, so the reader should be able to grasp the importance of the truth, here, during a criminal investigation. What does all this have to do with Terri Horman and her gang of merry scofflaws? They should study this case carefully, and take note of the precedent set by a multi-state grand jury of holding anyone who obstructs justice accountable. Because the Lyon sisters' case involves two different states, the precedent set reaches the federal level, and can be used in Oregon, as well. Virginia is now trying a criminal case for obstruction of justice against a person who was not even born when the crime under investigation was committed. This should send a very clear message to those who would cover for Terri Horman: the truth is important enough to lock up a liar, even after forty years. The truth is even important enough to lock up someone who wasn't yet born at the time of the crime, but knows about it, nonetheless. Are you paying attention, Terri Horman?

Pat Welch Lyin' About The Lyon Sisters

Lets see here; Patricia Jean Welch, of Hyattsville, Maryland, brightened her holiday last year by getting arrested in December, for lying to the grand jury in Virginia about some evidence related to the forty year old cold case of the missing Lyon sisters, from Montgomery County, Maryland. Pat Welch thought it would be more circumspect to lie, when asked pointed questions, rather than realizing that the questions never would have been asked, in the first place, unless the truth, or at least part of the truth, was already known.

Something else to which Pat Welch did not give much attention is that when people, such as Lloyd Lee Welch, her nephew and a "person of interest" in this case, go to jail on the spur of a moment, they sometimes leave many of their personal possessions behind. Since Lloyd is in jail, and has been for years, he isn't as available to visit his previous addresses and hide evidence. That makes it a little bit easier for the police to find his stuff, what's left of it, and look for anything connected to any crimes he might have committed.

Pat's husband, Richard Welch, is also a "person of interest" in the missing persons cases of Katherine and Sheila Lyon, and has recently retained legal counsel. This happened right around the time that the house he shares with Pat was searched again by Montgomery County Police, earlier this month. Pat says the police didn't take anything, but the media has pictures and footage of police taking things. Also, Richard's lawyer says that if the police come back, Pat and Richard will cooperate and be honest, because they have nothing to hide, but if that's really true, why is Pat due in court in Bedford County, Virginia, on June 29, for perjury? If she has nothing to hide, wouldn't she have just cooperated, and answered the grand jury's questions truthfully in December?

Noah Terry Thomas: Sad News

Noah Terry Thomas, of this post, was found earlier today, on his family's property. According to friends and neighbors, he was discovered in a sewer drain. This is not the outcome hoped for by so many. There will be a memorial service for Noah on Friday, March 27 at 8:00 PM at the Pearisburg Community Center, on the front lawn. The address is 1410 Wenonah Ave., Pearisburg, Virginia.

When Children Do Not Come Home

Time does not erase the pain of people whose lives have been turned upside down by the disappearance or murders of children. Nor does it reduce or eliminate the need to search for the missing or establish protocols when children do not come home.

Tom Schroeder, guidance counselor of the public school in Frankfort Kansas, knowingly took a very big chance of creating such a heartbreak for a family in his school district when he dumped a fourteen year old girl off by herself for cross country practice, four miles away from the school. When she did not return, he shrugged his shoulders and went home and had dinner. The girl's family was told that is the protocol for Frankfort, Kansas when a child disappears. Luckily, the strangers who picked up Schroeder's victim just took her back to the town from which she had been taken.

Quite a few of the locals in Frankfort, Kansas either do not understand the heartbreak caused when a child disappears, or perhaps they do, and it was planned for this family. Either way, the crass reactions of Frankfort Kansas are unacceptable, from blaming the victim to deriding the mother for not "just letting it go."

The video above details a case that started forty years ago, in suburban Maryland. Two young girls, Sheila and Katherine Lyon, ten and twelve years old, simply disappeared one day, in 1975, on their way home from Wheaton Plaza. The event illustrated, quite painfully, that protocols and immediate responses from law enforcement are necessary when a child goes missing. In stranger abductions, such as the case of the Lyon sisters, the victim is usually dead within three hours, according the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The school board for Frankfort, USD 380, has expressed that it is comfortable with children accepting rides from strangers in order to return to school after having been left in random places by teachers.

Today marks the fortieth anniversary of the day that Sheila and Katherine Lyon disappeared. Hopefully, the newer avenues of investigation into the case will bring answers for their parents, John and Mary Lyon. Certainly, no further explanation should be needed by Frankfort, Kansas concerning why Tom Schroeder's actions toward the student he abandoned were criminal. If it was done deliberately, Frankfort High School should just accept the fact that the young lady finally came home safely, despite their criminal attempts, and leave the family alone.

Noah Terry Thomas Missing In Virginia

This little boy, Noah Terry Thomas, disappeared this morning in Pulaski County, Virginia. He is five years old, and was last seen at his home at around 9:00 AM. He had on a camouflage raincoat. The police have been looking all over for him; if you see him or know anything at all about his whereabouts, would you please call the number on the poster above and tell someone? And feel free to share this picture everywhere, until the little guy is found.

Patricia Welch As A Resident Agent

Hey Patricia Welch, how come you're such a big, fat liar? Who the hell did you think you were when you didn't want to help find two missing children? And why is covering for adults more important? Here's another question, you dumb bitch; what was really going on when you served as a "resident agent" for L. Engleking Inc.? Was your friend from Florida really a plumber, or was that just a ruse, so that he could get inside the homes of people who have children, in order to post their pictures on Facebook? Isn't that why your friend's son is in prison now?

You know, you are married to a "person of interest" in a high profile missing persons case involving two children, Sheila and Katherine Lyon,  and your nephew is a person of interest in the same case. Your employment history also involves working with someone who is currently serving time in federal prison for child pornography and human trafficking! Was your home daycare used for something similar?

Hopefully, you'll be savvy enough to tell the truth in court on April 27, when you go to court in Bedford County, Virginia. While you certainly come across as a bimbo who thinks she's exempt from the law, you do not appear to be the type who would make it in prison. Short of definite answers about all this, you can expect to see more details, such as the ones in this post, splashed all over the internet. Quite a few people already hope that you will go from being a "resident agent" for a kiddie porn creep to being a resident in the pokey, so you should really find a way to start telling the truth in court.

Jailhouse Confession In Lyon Sisters Case

Does anyone remember March 25, 1975, when Sheila and Katherine Lyon, of Maryland, disappeared from Wheaton Plaza? Almost forty years have gone by, with virtually nothing in the way of answers, then a tip was suddenly shared late in 2013. Information and testimony led law enforcement away from Maryland and into Thaxton Virginia, specifically, Taylor's Mountain. Several sites were examined and dug up, and a woman named Patricia Welch was arrested in Virginia for lying to the grand jury about the case.  The newest tidbit of information is that a couple of days ago, a Delaware prisoner by the name of Lloyd Lee Welch admitted that he was a passenger in the car that left Wheaton Plaza with the girls!

After forty years, a backhanded confession. Lloyd Lee Welch still does not admit any contact with them after leaving Wheaton Plaza in the same car with both girls, but by the end of the first day they were missing, it's almost certain that he knew police were searching for them. So why didn't he share his informational gem in 1975? A response from Mr. Welch is not anticipated, as he currently sits in prison because of his inappropriate and unlawful approach to prepubescent girls. He also gave an account to law enforcement in 1975 about the whole thing, omitting, of course, the part about his own presence in the getaway car. A polygraph that was administered at the time indicated that Mr. Welch was deceptive. The only reason he was taken terribly seriously in recent efforts has to do with his intimate knowledge of certain details about this case; the few details that are possessed by law enforcement.

It has also been clarified in recent days that at least one set of remains has been recovered from a dig site on Taylor's Mountain. The process of identifying the remains is still in the works, and hopefully, John and Mary Lyon will get some answers about what happened to their daughters almost forty years ago.

Another Christian Pervert Teacher

Here's a little trivia from Virginia; a guy named Luis Mendez, a music teacher, is now in jail, without bond, for charges stemming from an inappropriate sexual relationship with a seventeen year old female student. Hmm...where has yours truly heard about things like that before? Any ideas, Frankfort Kansas? The community of Bedford County is duly disgusted with him, and the judge held him without bail because he's been determined to be a flight risk. It seems he asked his victim to let him know if the police were going to charge him, so he could flee the area before they found him! Oh; here's some more dirt that's been dug up about him.......he also once worked as a part time music leader at Blue Ridge Community Church and he left his wife after getting a nineteen year old student pregnant! He should have done all this in a tiny little town in Northeast Kansas, instead! The folks there would have allowed him to marry at least one of the victims and they would have covered for him, rather than holding him accountable, and he wouldn't have had to worry about being jailed at all, let alone held without bond! Location, location, location!

Message To The Mountain

"Are they going to repair the property they dig on have they got the ok from the land owner to dig onit i think afew thing's need to be ask.
And who is covering the damage they create by the digging is the town of Bedford going to fork out for the repairing.
Like i said i wish something so stupid would had not been done by someone we do not even know for them to even be on our family mountain."

Grrrr......Allow me to answer this, one asinine statement at a time. No; "they" are only going to repair the property they dig up if they can. It's only dirt, and yes, law enforcement and the specialists they hired will try to leave the area as they found it, but any evidence they find will not be replaced. As for asking your royal highness first, the sheriff doesn't have to. The sheriffs of two different counties, backed by the judicial systems of two different states, and the FBI have warrants to dig on the land owner's land. They do not have to ask anyone, least of all, you.

What damage do you want the police to cover, after evidence was hidden by your relatives and neighbors for thirty-nine years? If someone drove over your lawn and you feel that the tires have done damage to your barbecue grill and possibly, your still, file a claim with your insurance company! They cover spilled moonshine, don't they?

Don't even cry about the actions of "stupid people"! When you say you don't know them, that's a boldfaced lie. You are more than acquainted with at least half of the family in question, and you jumped onto a newspaper forum early in this investigation to state that this particular family never owned property on "your family mountain". To officially differ with you, the registry of deeds in your county states otherwise. You know them, and they've probably bought many a batch of moonshine on the mountain, to take back home with them.

The two young ladies who disappeared in 1975 also had a family and a community. Everyone looked for them; everyone misses them. Well, almost everyone; you have some cousins who lived near the community from which these girls were kidnapped, and they didn't lift a finger to help find them. If I understand correctly, one of them tried to collect reward money, but welched  (pun somewhat intended) when it was time to deliver. Another one is due in court next month because she's a big fat liar. If Sheila and Katherine somehow ended up in "your" community, it's well past time to give them back to THEIR community! They never should have been in "your" community in the first place, and would not have been, but for something done by one of YOUR relatives, so shut the hell up when the police try to put things right! You really sound as if you know there is evidence to be found, and you don't want investigators to find it. That's just too bad, creep. Deal with it, and hide your moonshine somewhere else.

Republican Governor Gets Two Years For Bribery

"Don't make me go to prison!" "I'm too white to go to prison!" "Jesus said I didn't have to go to prison because that's only for OTHER PEOPLE, not ME!" "I went to confession....why do I have to go to prison?"

Where the HELL is the eye-rolley when I need it? Bob McDonnell, the former Republican governor of Virginia took bribes in exchange for using his office and position to promote someone's business interests, that's a federal crime, he was found guilty, and now he's going to prison, Republican christianity notwithstanding. His wife can probably expect the same, at her sentencing.

McDonnell says he's going to appeal his sentence, which, among sentences for this type of corruption, is light. It seems that it is one last ditch effort to avoid having to report to prison on February 9, which is what he was ordered to do. In addition to wanting the court to give him a free pass to violate whatever law he pleases, he has shown the audacity to request that the court also give his wife a get out of jail free card! So we have a Republican governor who wants the court to withhold the same punishment from himself and from his spouse that it would dole out to someone with less financial backing! How will he feel if he succeeds in getting out of jail free, but wifey gets locked up, anyways? He has no guarantees of anything, right now!

Hopefully, he will get the "vacation" he paid for by taking bribes. Being part of a certain clique or "set" does not impart immunity from the law, nor does it matter how cute a Christian priest finds a republican politician or similar animal. If the law says not to do something, shouldn't these people.....you know......try harder not to do it? After all, if one cannot do the time, one should not do the crime!

Koch Brothers Place Bid On Outcome Of Kansas Election

The Koch Brothers bought some air time, about eleven million dollars worth, to secure seats for assorted republicans around the nation. About one million went into Kansas ads, promoting the senile and largely ineffective Pat Roberts. As a resident of Virginia, Roberts even votes there now! How is he still "representing" Kansas?

Greg Orman, an Independent challenger for the Kansas Senate, actually does live in Kansas. Why would the Koch Brothers wish to see Kansas represented in the Senate by someone who does not actually live in Kansas, and whose votes in the Senate, for good or for ill, will not affect his own life in any way? After all, Pat Roberts is a Virginia resident.

What Do Joaquin Rams And Russel Morris Have In Common?

Slow investigations, multiple deaths, judicial harassment of victims and family members of victims, and perpetrators....whoever they may be....are left to repeat their crimes and continue to prey on others. That seems par for the course when a crime victim is too young to testify on his own behalf. A new angry troll has discovered this site, and has made his presence known because he did not like what I wrote about the untimely death of little Caleb Stewart, the baby who died in the home daycare of Tara Johnson, near Topeka, Kansas, this past February. Caleb was dropped off for daycare one morning, when Tara Johnson didn't feel like  providing daycare. She left Caleb with a male "friend" of hers, Russel Morris, after Caleb's mother went to work. Over the course of the day, and after conflictingly related events which have not been properly investigated, Caleb died. His parents have yet to hear the explanation. Chad Taylor, prosecutor of Topeka, Kansas, is not interested in the case. Caleb's mother works to provide for her family and needs daycare in order to work every day, and that puts her in a class that is obviously is not the type a Kansas prosecutor would even worry about. Right, Johnson-McNish? This case seems to compare to the Northern Virginia case of Joaquin Rams, who has been charged in the drowning death of his infant son, Prince.

Before I continue musing out loud about the two cases, let me just say that Joaquin Rams has not been found guilty, and Russel Morris has not been charged with anything and is not a suspect. The only reason he attracted my attention was his angry dialogue on my site, and his outrageous demeanor toward a mother who just lost her child.

Caleb's case already reminded me a bit of the case against Joaquin Rams in Northern Virginia, where
he awaits trial for the drowning death of his fifteen month old son, Prince. Prince's mom, Hera Mcleod, begged Judge Michael Algeo, of Montgomery County, Maryland, to keep Joaquin's visits with Prince supervised. Algeo didn't care. In fact, he demonized Hera. Joaquin lied about everything from his intentions to his financial situation. Prince mysteriously ended up drowning on the third unsupervised visit. Because Prince did not die immediately, but died later on, in a hospital, Joaquin got away with smoke-screening all the facts and circumstances and blaming Hera; creating as much confusion as possible in the hospital. He did not get charged with murder immediately, and it took over two months for Hera to even get a complete report from the medical examiner. The other day, when I heard that there was no actual cause of death reported by the medical examiner in Caleb's death, I was not surprised. But I was surprised to hear about another detail that has not been publicized: the boyfriend of Caleb's daycare provider, Russel Morris, had a death in his family the very day before little Caleb died. His former wife died, "mysteriously". Undetermined causes. No one thinks this warrants further investigation, and when the mother of Joaquin Rams's oldest son, (Prince's older brother) Shawn Mason, died in March of 2003, her death was not initially connected to Rams. His own mother's 2008 death was ruled a suicide. After Prince died, it took the medical examiner at least two months to rule on a cause of death and also determine that the death was an homicide, but after law enforcement determined that Rams had bought insurance on all three of the victims, the Commonwealth of Virginia took a closer look at the three deaths. Joaquin has now been formally charged in Shawn Mason's death, and in Prince Mcleod Rams's death, and awaits trial behind bars. What an unusual parallel!

Another trait these two men have in common is the use of bullying tactics and intimidation against family members of victims. Both men were obviously witnesses in the subsequent cases, and the family members initially only wanted answers. When Joaquin refused, Hera persisted. He not only lied about his son's cause of death, (a possible reason the medical examiner kept quiet) but trolled Hera on the internet, almost to the point of harassment, in an attempt to dissuade others from believing her or from encouraging her to seek justice for Prince, and in a pathetic attempt to make her feel as badly as possible. Russel Morris, has treated Misty Durham, Caleb's mother, in much the same way. He not only acts in a trollish manner online, but has appeared on television, specifically the Steve Wilkos show, forcefully trying his best to intimidate Misty and stop her from any further efforts to determine why her son died. He is also on a campaign to blurt out anything he can remember about Misty's past, in an ongoing effort to dissuade the general public from caring about what happened to Caleb. It's a little like what Joaquin Rams did to Hera Mcloed. Bullies often do this to keep their victims from snitching on them. This behavior is curious in Russel Morris's case, however; why is it so important to him that Misty hurry up and find closure and move on with her life? And why is he so ready to disparage Misty? Most of us do not express sympathy for grieving mothers by intimidating them or insulting them.

Joaquin Rams Indicted For Capital Murder

Joaquin Rams, of Virginia, was indicted earlier this week for capital murder, which means that the state of Virginia can seek the death penalty if he is found guilty. In October of last year, his fifteen month old son, Prince, died during an overnight visit. After a lengthy investigation and examination of two other cases, those being the death of Rams's former girlfriend and the death of his mother, Rams was finally arrested in December for Prince's death. The recurring theme in all of the deaths was life insurance policies. A disturbing national recurring theme is poorly thought out family law court decisions.  Judge Algeo, of Montgomery County, Maryland, presided over the custody case that cost fifteen month old Prince his life.

About Joaquin Rams; Maybe The Doctor Will Think Twice Next Time

Hera Mcleod, the mother of Prince Mcleod Rams, the toddler who died during his first unsupervised visit to his father, is now suing Dr. Margaret Wang, of Virginia, for twenty million dollars. This does not surprise me, and I think it is good that "Dr." Wang is being called to account for her part in this little boy's death. The Maryland judge in this case, while rude, unprofessional, and completely disinterested in Prince's best interest, did order Joaquin Rams, Prince's father, to present the court with the opinion of a professional mental health expert prior to his custody order. And Rams proceeded to the office of Margaret Wang, Phd., and paid for her services on his own. This is probably where one of the misunderstandings about Rams's mental fitness for unsupervised visitation began; Rams hired Wang and paid her fee; she was therefore biased in Rams's favor. It is a shame that Rams had not simply been sent to a generic court psychologist (Montgomery County Maryland DOES have them) who would not have been inclined toward a bias, but Rams was given the opportunity to pay someone to write a recommendation for him, and Wang did exactly that. She was unconcerned about Rams's history of domestic violence, not worried about the multiple insurance policies he bought on his son, (not FOR his son, ON his son) and obviously determined not to let such trivial matters as two murder investigations deter her creative muse.

No one in court was the slightest bit supportive of Hera Mcleod when she tried to protect her son. Judge Michael Algeo told Ms. Mcleod she was in the wrong to try to protect her son, and refused to look at Mr. Rams's criminal record and the murder investigations. Mcleod presented the facts....it is all in the transcripts. Dr. Wang minimized the problems of domestic violence and sexual violence. She helped to convince Judge Algeo that the concerns of Prince's mother were baseless. Was she expecting some sort of payout from one of the insurance policies? Only the shadow knows.......the idea that a psychologist is willing to recommend a man who wielded a handgun at someone during a domestic violence incident should be unthinkable. But she did it. And shortly thereafter, Prince was pronounced dead because of an excess of water in his lungs. The person Margaret Wang recommended for unsupervised visitation is now in jail with no bond. I think it is very, very good that Hera Mcleod is suing her, even if the whole matter moves very slowly through court for years to come, as these things often do; just to draw public attention to the dangerous practices of this psychologist before another life is needlessly lost.

What should Hera Mcleod have done? I know what I would have done. I went through similar experiences in divorce court. I got divorced in Jefferson County, West Virginia. The judge there had a grudge against any woman who separated from her husband because of domestic violence, and when she heard that I had testified against my husband in court, and that he had been found guilty of domestic violence, she reduced my child support to fifty dollars a month, for three children. She also ordered me to drive my children from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia to Frederick, Maryland during a blizzard. This was in February of 2003. Later on, during a court hearing, my husband's lawyer told the judge he had no idea why I had not taken the children to Frederick, as ordered. When I told the judge that the governors of Maryland and West Virginia had both declared a state of emergency because of the storm, and that police in both states were giving one thousand dollar traffic tickets to anyone who drove in that storm, (do you think my fifty dollars a month in child support would have covered such a fine?) she pretended that she did not know about the blizzard and threatened to hold me in contempt of court. When I told her about the fifty-eight people who had died of carbon monoxide poisoning (see above link) as a result of sitting in their cars in traffic during that storm, she told me that carbon monoxide is not dangerous. At that point, I realized that reasoning with this judge was a waste of time, and I waited for the hearing to end. It ended with the judge reminding me not to go to the police in West Virginia or anywhere should I incur further violence through my husband, and also not to report any maltreatment of the children. Such complaints would be interpreted as custodial interference and treated accordingly. My spouse finally became my former spouse, and also finally ceased any attempts to contact the children or yours truly. Except once: I moved away from the area when I married again, and my former spouse took me to court to contest this move. I was forced to reschedule a blood transfusion for the hearing! Subsequent hearings came and went with no attendance from my former spouse, and he went on to cause three more head-on collisions in Maryland and Virginia traffic and garner at least two more DWI's before his death in 2010. Oh; the judge also told me that my former spouse did NOT have a problem with alcohol. Did not. Worrying about my childrens' safety while riding as passengers as he drove was completely unreasonable of me......where's the eye-rolley when I need it? But Hera Mcleod was young, and had not lost her faith in the judicial system. No mother should be faced with the choice of becoming a "criminal" by defying court orders and getting jailed for contempt of court because she loves her children. Judge Algeo did not leave her any other choice.

This is a picture taken in Frederick, Maryland, in 2003, during the blizzard in which I was ordered by a family law court judge to drive with my children.

Idaho Representative Drunk Behind The Wheel

Mormon Republican representative from Idaho, Michael Crapo, apparently got blitzed on Saturday night in Virginia, cruised through a red light, and got pulled over by a police officer. Then he blew a .11, instead of asking for his lawyer. All of this would not really be a big deal, except for the fact that he not only belongs to, but is a "bishop" in a religious movement that preaches that it is a "sin" to consume alcohol. And, of course, there is also what he has said in the past, regarding any use of alcohol: "Crapo has told the Associated Press in past interviews that he abstains from drinking alcohol."......Associated Press

A Cold Case Terri Horman Should See

It's Monday again, the day that I tell Terri Horman, defacto blame in the disappearance of Kyron Horman and sometime recluse, about a cold case in American history that got solved, against all odds, to the amazement of the community and the confounding of the guilty party. This one will be one that has not had any publicity since it was solved, and the suspect has been found guilty and sent to prison for life.

In 1991, a young man named Eddie Wingo, of Maryland, decided to sneak into open, first story bedroom windows of children in Rockville, Maryland, whose houses he had "cased", kidnap the children, molest them, and place them back into their bedrooms before morning. Seriously........Eddie Wingo must be crazy. But this is what he did. Since the children, two boys and one girl, were at home in their beds when their parents woke them up for school, they were not immediately believed when they each told a story of a man who came through the window, took them, and later put them back. But DNA told a story of molestation by a stranger in each case. Eddie was not caught right away, though.

Fast forward to November of 1994. Eddie did it again. Only this time, he cased out a house in Sterling, Virginia, where he worked for a contruction company. He used the same method of operation of sneaking in through an unlocked, lower story bedroom window, and kidnapped a six year old boy. He drove the little boy to Rockville, Maryland, and sexually assaulted him. But then, he apparently did not have enough time to get the little boy back home, to Sterling, Virginia, and take him back inside his house, through the window, without getting caught, so Eddie took the boy to a cemetery in Rockville and left him there! The little boy provided a description of Eddie Wingo, his vehicle, and all of the events, from when he was kidnapped to when he was left in Rockville. The DNA left on the boy told the rest of the story. It also matched DNA saved from the unsolved Maryland cases dating from 1991. It also matched Eddie Wingo, after they found his car and the child was able to identify him. Out of the mouths of babes.................Eddie Wingo's in prison now, for the rest of his life. His appeal didn't work out, either. He was also found guilty of the three other attacks on children.

The striking thing about these cold cases is this: the children who claimed that they were taken from their bedrooms via the open windows were initially not believed, because they were children. In actuality, their accounts of the incidents and their descriptions of Eddie Wingo and his vehicle were more accurate than adults' eyewitness accounts of crimes usually are. Eddie never thought he would get caught or go to jail because he was picking on children, and he thought no one would listen to what a little kid had to say. He was wrong. Kyron was abducted from his school. I am still convinced that one day, some wise person will start listening to some of the children, Terri, who were around Kyron the morning he went missing. It took three years to apprehend Eddie Wingo. Hopefully, it won't take that long to find Kyron.

This is the general vicinity where Eddie Wingo abandoned his last victim. It's amazing that he really thought no one would ever figure out who did it. Below is Kyron Horman. Anyone with information about Kyron should contact the FBI immediately.
